"dual layer dvd disk for what?", I STILL AM NOT SURE WHY I PURCHASED THESE (6) DUAL LAYER DVD'S AFTER ONE YEAR ON MY SHELF, I TRIED TO BURN A DVD MOVIE ON ONE, AS IT WAS TOO LARGE FOR A STANDARD DVD AND IT COPIED HALF AND THEN QUIT, RUINING THE DUAL LAYER DISK AND LEAVING ME UNABLE TO MAKE A COPY OF THE MOVIE I WAS WANTING TO BACK UP. SO UNLESS YOU HAVE A REAL NEED FOR A DUAL LAYER DISK I WOULD NOT ADVISE YOU TO MAKE THE PURCHASE.

"Waste of time and money", I was in a time crunch and needed a dvd-dl disc. Unfortunately the only brand available to me at the time was Memorex. I bought the 3 pack, and despite all my attempts, the entire 3 pack was completely worthless. I tried using my internal drive as well as my external drive, all a waste of time. Finally, I went out and bought my favorite brand, Verbatim, and everything worked like a charm on the very first try. Don't gamble with your money, don't buy Memorex.

"memorex dvd+r dl", these disc were just right for the work i wanted to copy.i have stored many years of photo's on these disc and save much needed space on my computer.

"10 pack photo for a 3 pack...FALSE ADVERTISING", This price seemed too good to be true. The description wasn't clear enough but reading through the ad and I finally got that it was only 3 discs in total even though the picture is of a 10 pack. I thought at first perhaps it was a ad for non Dual Layer. No... just a lot fewer discs.

"Memorex 2.4x 8.5 GB Double Layer DVD+R Pack", Worked fine. People just need to make sure they buy the right DVD format's for their hardware. THAT is the reason they sometimes have problems... its NOT one brand versus the other that causes the problems. People do.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Good Job!", These Double Layer DVDs worked out great with the exception of one. 2 were able to play in my DVD theatre system, but one didn't. It was not a total lose because I was able to play it on my computer using my burner and it worked just fine there!

"Worked Great!", Not sure what some of the problems were with the negative reviews but I highly suspect they did not know what they were doing. I've burned over a twety DVDs with this brand, everything from backups, picture storage to my daughters home videos. Never had a problem with a single one of them.

Only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I found a cheaper brand that also hasn't given me problems.

"Just didn't work!", After burning one coaster, I thought, it's just a fluke. I'll burn my first DVD in no time. I was wrong. After updating the firmware on my new Plextor DVD burner and downloading the latest version of Nero 6, I burned two more coasters. Don't buy these unless you want pain and frustration.

"No problems - none - zero - ", My DVD burner is a BenQ and I use Nero 6. Every dual-layer DVD has burned perfectly. I think the review by "A. Clark - 'Great Dual Layer DVDs'" says what needs to be said.

"Great Dual Layer DVDs (Just update your firmware first)", To avoid burning an expensive coaster, update the firmware on your Dual Layer DVD Drive first. If you don't, chances are you'll get an error when your drive tries to finalize the disc. Doesn't matter if your drive is brand new, or a major name brand, update your firmware first ([...]). Also, these won't work in a regular DVD burner. Your burner must be Dual Layer (Double Layer) compatable.

If your home DVD player is not dual layer compatable (and most aren't), you're going to experience problems. There will be a pause when the DVD transitions to the second layer (this is normal). This is where a lot of old technology DVD players get stuck. They can play the first layer but get lost transitioning to the second.

These Discs work fine in all four of my Dual Layer burners (Toshiba from Western Digital, IO-Magic, HP drive in 8000 series laptop and HP Lightscibe drive in a1110n desk top). Out of 21 discs, I've had one coaster, which isn't bad in my book. HP was slow to update their firmware to handle a wider selection of DL discs. The last update (I193 in my case) fixed many problems.

Since these discs do work in many computers, I would highly suggest contacting your manufacturer if they don't work in yours (update your firmware first). The manufacturer can't fix a problem if they don't know about it.
