Others say...
"Best charger I have ever used...." I bought this charger after buying the Duracell 15 minute charger. The Duracell would eat up the batteries, but this La Crosse unit is much better and gives the batteries a much longer life. I highly recommend this unit to anyone who wants an excellent charger with a lot of features. Also, it comes with C and D adapters you plug your AA batteries into to run something that requires those two batteries.
"Seems like a winner" It works pretty well as far as I've used it. The interface is pretty intuitive. I'm not sure how well the rejuvination works though since it couldn't take my 2000mAh AA cells back up there from 1500mAh.
"A Noteworthy Item" This is definitely the best battery charger of this scale and price that I have ever come across. The charger is very intuitive, and learning how to use all of its functions is not difficult in the least. In my opinion, there are two noteworthy features: the "current" button allows the user to select from four (4) mAH levels of charge (or discharge depending on the mode). This allows for a slow trickle charge when time is not a priority and a rapid recharge when time is of the essence. The other feature is the "Discharge Refresh" mode. This is especially helpful for anyone who may be using older NiCDs or Nimhs. This feature goes through a process of fully charging and discharging the battery several times in order to restore capacitance lost due to the "memory effect." All in all, this charger and battery kit is an item that is sure to impress everyone from the home enthusiast to the business professional.
"It works really well" This is a fantastic AA and AAA battery charger. NOTE: C and D cell batteries WILL NOT FIT in this unit, but the included adapters allow your AA batteries to power devices that normally require a C or a D cell.
This charger has brought a number of my weak batteries back to life, and charged all of my NiMH batteries in a manner that they do not lose their charge while sitting and waiting to be put back into my camera.
While total "Refresh" time is long (several days), it works!
I really like the ability to set the current levels, allowing a faster recharge at a higher current, or a more complete recharge at a lower current. I also like the ability to remove one fully charged battery, then insert another discharged battery and set its charging parameters without disturbing the recharge process for the other 3 batteries.
"Great Charger but a Dud Battery" Everything was as advertised and quite nice, though this same model in an 8 or even 12 capacity would be lovely.
Only complaint: one of the supplied AA 2600 mAh batteries arrived with the ability to charge to not a peep over 620 (a bit shy of 2600?) straight out of the gate. The other three were fine.

What our customer's say!
"Maybe simpler is sometimes better", I'm a self proclaimed tech geek. I love gadgets and can usually pick something up and master it within minutes. I read the instructions, and was operating the BC-900 correctly, but it just didn't want to perform. I couldn't get it to fully charge the batteries it came with. One stopped at around 300mA, one at 1750mA, and the other two stayed around 2100mA for a few hours before I decided this charger wasn't for me. I've switched to the Sanyo Eneloop precharged so look for my review on those if I every get them to run down so I can charge them with the Sanyo charger.
"over hyped", I read the reviews and thought I was going to buy a decent battery charger considering the hefty price. It's way too complicated. It may be fine if you have the hours to invest to read the poorly written manual. I thought this would improve the battery life in my portable electronics but it didn't. The #3 button on top is not correctly installed so the manufacturing quality is suspect. It works no better than the freebie charger I got with my rechargeable batteries.
"Misleading advertising re: the C and D adaptors", I got this product a few days ago, and it seems to work pretty well. My unit is v35, so hopefully I will not have any overheating problems. A couple of rechargeable AAAs I had sitting in a drawer were not recognized when I put them in; I charged them for an hour or so in another charger and then it recognized and charged them. This is a pretty annoying problem but not insurmountable.
My main problem, and the reason for the 4 star rating, is the C and D adapters that come with it. My kids have a lot of toys that take Cs and Ds so i was looking forward to using them; I had even decided which toys I was going to try them in first. However, the D adapters won't work unless you put the C adapters into them! IOW, to use a D adapter you have to put the AA into the C adapter, and then put the C adapter into the D adapter! So if you want to use the 4 D adapters that come with this product, you won't be able to use the C adapters. This strikes me as a case of misleading advertising, as the specs say that it comes with 4 D adapters AND 4 C adapters, but it should say that you get 4 D adapters OR 4 C adapters, OR some combination thereof. There is no discernible reason why they couldn't make the D adapters accept a AA without the C adapters. So now I'm stuck buying more C adapters. However, I paid $39.99 for this product one week ago, and I see that it is now going for $69.99, so I guess I should count my blessings.
"La Crosse, do your job or give some money to NLee the engineer", Between two wiimotes, two guitar controllers, bunch of wireless PS2 and Xbox controllers, I figured it would make sense to put a rechargeable batter/charger combo on my X-Mas wish list. Brother-in-law came through and I received this thing in the mail yesterday.
I have no interest in refreshing old batteries. I just want to plug in rechargeable batteries into the unit and end up with recharged batteries. Then bam, out of the box, one of the batteries doesn't register and I get the "NULL" message. I visit the lacrossetechnology website and find no info about this. After fiddling around the unit for about half an hour, trying to figure out what I could be doing wrong, I finally found the solution I need from NLee's review below.
Here's my problem with this situation. The whole NULL battery thing seems like a common enough problem that it warrants a noticeable warning either in the instruction manual or on the website with an explanation and a solution. Yet, there is no mention of this. So people have to go online, google the solution or depend on good Samaritans like NLee. This is just poor customer service and takes away from what I can see is a good product.
"Excellant Charger", A battery charger you can control and moniter with the display! and affordable. Best charger purchase you can make.

Read this reviews before You buy...
"Love this, works great and easy to use", Yes I had to read the manual and that made using this a breeze. Once you learn to set up the voltage that's it. I discharge the batteries first so it keeps more life in them and I'm only using this on Sanyo Eneloops, which are ok to fast charge. This is small enough to travel with, which is very important to me and it can handle world current 110-240v. I'm also using the adapters that convert to D cells. So far they work well on my older flashlights that I don't want to buy new D cells for. Overall this is easy to use and charges fast and that's what I need and it will charge 1-2-3 or 4 cells, another plus is not having to charge in pairs.
"Great!", This is the best charger I've owned. It's simple to operate on it's basic setting, but has plenty of advanced functions to maintain a battery's charge if you need them. I've been giving these as gifts and everyone loves them as well. I'd highly recommend it.
"Great...you'll love it", Loved it...good value; the included batteries are better than some of those other one's I've used as well.
The only down side is that setting the current for charging is NOT that easy, as it seem to automatically default to 200 when you try to set the current for the next battery inserted.
"BEWARE - NEVER WORKED AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT", I bought this and didn't get a chance to try it until after 30 day Amazon return was up. The thing NEVER worked. Plugged it in and no power even got to the charging unit much less the batteries. Have sent 2 emails to their customer support and made two phone calls (after staying on line for a few minutes they just have you leave a voice mail) over the past month and never received single response from them. Insane... Finally I got so frustrated I had an electrical engineer friend of mine look at it. Turns out the circuit board had about a dozen contact points that hadn't been soldered. Explains why the LCD display never worked.
But the main problem is that they don't reply to either my emails or my voice mails.
"Quality Charger", If purchased for ~$35 like I found, the charger is an excellent deal. Many charging methods, four slots, a generous LCD display, 8 included (high quality) batteries, battery adapters, and a carrying case make this deal hard to beat.
A word to the wise on rechargeable batteries. Stay away from energizer and the old recharge technology. The best rechargeable are Sanyo Eneloops and the various clones (look for "hybrid" rechargeables).
