"Better than first impression!"
The MonsterGecko FPS mouse it much better than it looks. Trust me. Even I looked at it at first and thought it was a waste of time. But when I saw it for a great black Friday deal, I picked it up because I was curious. Now I can safely say it's well worth the purchase. The mouse has a good resolution, and the shame is more than a gimmick. It really does feel great to use, games or not! I recommend this product by far!

"Great at this price"
A very high quality novelty mouse. It still works like a mouse. It must stay on a surface. The one annoyance is the trigger has about 3/4 inch of play in it. With a "Trigger job" (duct tape over the slot) it was perfect. It gave my wrist a much needed rest. Worth the $3 I paid for it as a daily deal.

"Suprised by the high quality."
I bought this just because it was cheap and was not expecting much. This is a very WELL-MADE mouse. Getting used to it was not hard at all, despite what others say. Just make sure you calibrate the Pistol Mouse in windows, to move 'slower' than a normal mouse and it offers fine control. Nothing beats this and the Nostromo N52 for first person shooters.

"Know what you're getting..."
The MonsterGecko Pistol Mouse really isn't such a bad product, if you know what you're getting going in. I've read many a review where the author expresses disappointment that it's "just a mouse," and indeed, that's all it really is. You can't point into the screen with it, and you have to leave the base on your "mousing surface" in order to use it. Now that we have that out of the way, if you're willing to put up with it for a bit, the Pistol Mouse is a very usable, if altogether unnecessary bit of novelty tech.

Once retailing for as much as $70, the Pistol Mouse can be had for $10 or less these days. There is a definite learning curve when you first start to use the controller, and most people aren't used to "mousing" with your hand basically making a fist. Another cause of the learning curve is that the optical is located at the very front of the platform, which results in very different, curving movements than most people are used to using with traditional mice. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, and it definitely takes some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it's actually rather intuitive.

All-in-all, this is more a novelty item than anything else. While it is usuable, the learning curve is definitely steeper than with a standard mouse (second nature to most folks at this point), and most people just won't want to deal with that. On the other hand, the PistolMouse feels good and definitely isn't a cheaply-made product. If you can get one for $10 or less, it might be worth checking out.

"Great Mouse."
This mouse has Great written all over it. Of course there is one or two things that I personally don't like(Smells of iodine, and weak wires) but overall I love it.
This mouse glides smoothly over any surface you decide to use it on. Its design allows for hours of play with no hand cramps, and it give you the feel of aiming at an opponent. The grips are changeable, so if you don't like them or they start to wear, then you can replace them.
I can't think of a better mouse to use while gaming.

What our customer's say!

"Pass: Novelty item, not real usable", Though very well built, and fun to hold, it's not usable if you're already good at first-person shooters using a mouse -well, not without some serious retraining of your hand and wrist. Especially games heavy on right-click, like Unreal Tournament. It's basically a mouse, only bulkier and less comfortable for extended play.

"Works, but not great", I got it for $10. It works, but after an hour I packed it up and switched back to my cordless mouse.

The "trigger" (or left mouse button) needs to be pulled back pretty far before it clicks. You can resolve this by leaving it half cocked, or not letting go of the trigger all the way. After awhile though, your finger does get tired of always being half curled.

The "safety" or right mouse button is small and easily missed. It is also only on one side, so left handed people are out of luck.

But the worst part is the amount of desktop space that this takes up. It's got a much larger footprint than a mouse. Plus not being wireless means that there is that annoying "tail" to contend with. You need free desktop space about a large as a hard cover book to use this with, and even more if you want to use it comfortably.

On the plus side, setup was a breeze. Basically just plug it in and away you go. It had a nice big fancy box and no documentation to speak of (basically a piece of paper with "plug it in to USB" written in 6 different languages). It tracked beautifully, at least as well as my Logetek cordless mouse.

If it was a bit smaller, cordless, and if the trigger was more sensitive then I would probably still be using it.

"It's fun, but you'll probably find yourself using a mouse for "serious" gaming", For goofing around, it's a refreshing change and is actually quite fun.
I think the problem is that most people who spend a lot of time on games are used to a mouse and this screws them up. People also aren't really willing to "train" using this mouse.
Build quality is excellent and I really have no complaints - I just don't use it a lot.

For $10-$20, well worth it.
Kind of a shame that it tanked (when it first came out, it was ~80)
If there was one change I'd make, it would be to add some weight to it along with a "mousing surface". It's not light, but it could be heavier.

"Fun for a few minutes", The kid loves it for playing a few games that do not require extensive use of mouse button 2 or 3 , but it is not practical or easy to use for anything else. I only paid a couple dollars for it, so I do not feel cheated.

"Better than expected", I bought this as a gift for a self proclaimed "gun nut". It was well received. I don't believe it is practical for everyday use, but might be fun in first person shooter games. The product is much better made than I expected. Some parts are made of aluminum! If you are into guns or first person shooters, I recommend it.

"Agree with the other poster.......", Maybe I am at fault but I bought this thinking it was a "gun" that could be pointed and shoots for playing games. It however has to be used with a mouse pad and its akward trying to move around flat without lifting like that. I do think some will enjoy it but I pretty much have stopped using it after only a couple times. It is well made and a novelty type product.

Take a normal optical mouse, flatten it a little and put a plastic gun on top. Now try to move it around.

"Not what you may think", I may be stupid but I thought this was a point and shoot controller when I ordered it. It is really just a mouse that looks like a pistol, pull the the trigger to click the mouse etc. I found no use for this device, maybe some would enjoy the feel of a gun in their hand when playing FPSs, not me.

"Awesome for shooters!", The PistolMouse is great for playing Half-Life 2...totally rocks! Way more fun than just clicking on targets with a mouse.
