"Great seat--G25 works okay"
I'd been looking for a solution for playing Gran Tourismo 5 Prologue because sitting on the couch with the wheel clamped to my coffee table wasn't that comfortable.

When I found that there were gaming cockpits available, I couldn't resist, and ordered this one. However, I was worried because I had read that the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel wasn't compatible because the pedals were too long to fit on the platform on this seat.

Once I got the seat, it looked like all that was needed was a spacer between the pedal platform and the pedals to make it work.

A piece of 1x12 lumber cut to the length of the Playseat foot pedal mount provides the separation needed for the G25 pedals to fit.

How the spacer is mounted is up to you. I chose to drill holes in the board to line up with the screw holes in the pedal set (which take M6 machine bolts). Some lag bolts through the board and the steel pedal plate take care of holding the board to the playseat plate. A single set of screws through everything would also work. A paper trace of the pedal set base works great as a drilling template for the pedal mounting screws.

After the spacer is added, the pedals fit perfectly. And--you don't have the annoying steering bar between your legs like you do in the Playseat evolution.

If you're at all handy, and can fashion a ~1" spacer for the pedal set--this seat will work for you.

There is one more thing--like the Evolution, the seat of the Classic folds for easier storage.

In summary, this item was a great addition to my car racing experience. I recommend it highly.

"Frame needs tweaking"
22 year old, just out of college
I am using the seat with the GT Force Feedback Wheel by Logitech for the PS3. I am a GT addict and have used the setup for F1 Championship as well. Must haves if you are really into the racing sim genre.

The actual seat is great, stable and comfortable. The frame on the other hand needs work. Out of the box the foot pedal and steering wheel mount wobble quite a bit, even when tightened down with the supplied adjustment knobs. The materials used seem to be quality, but the petite size of the frame's support columns give the chair a "dainty" novelty feel. If you are investing a hundred plus dollars into a product, I expect a little bit more. Overall, I would make this purchase again, just be prepared to perform a little surgery on yours.

"Nice seat, high price!"
I defanately love this seat, it makes driving games alot more enjoyable and has actually helped with strategy driving as well. The seats really comfortable, i almost want to use in my car now, haha. Only reason i give it a 4 star is because of the rigidity of the frame. It does wobble a bit, and the fine adjustments that you can make for wheel hight/length need to be a little bit longer. I have a feeling ill be modifying mine because it irks me that bad! Over all i defanately recomend this product, especially if its on sale. I got screwed with the $250.00 price

"Great seat!"
I already had the steering wheel and have used it for a few years. The seat really adds to the fun and comfort of playing. My nephew and Girl Friend both could not use the steering wheel before as they could not hold it but now it is no problem. It was easy to assemble and I feel it was a great buy.

"Get the FULL racing experience!"
This is the basic seat from Playseats and I am very happy with it. I paid $199.00 and shipping was free. Best deal I found. Installation was easy, I was missing one felt pad to protect the floor but I had some similar felt protectors that worked the same. The chair is comfortable, a bit large but I guess it's made to fit a wide range of shapes. The overall construction is good. Packaging was good as well. I would recommend this to anyone who wants the full experience of video game racing.

What our customer's say!

"flimsy make", its ok, but not good enough for the money I paid for. It start breaking apart from the welded joints, buy this one of they giving a welding machine free with this. not recommended at all!!! unless you ready to lose your money within couple of months.... get something reliable!

"Playseat for Driving Force GT", Great seat for my Driving Force GT to play GT Prologue ... and also a nice seat for my kid while watching TV. The set up gives a good adjustment for length and height. The only star left for a perfect 5 is if an improvement can be devised to keep the swinging steering frame stable.

"Good Playseat", I got this playseat classic in blue on sale last week for about $140. I was really excited when the price came down because I've been eyeing one and didn't want to spend $250 on it. I also bought the G25 racing wheel to go with it. It was after ordering it that I found out that the G25 wheel doesn't fit the playseat classic. This seat was made to fit the Logitech Driving Force GT perfectly. So if you have a PS3 and don't want to spend a lot of money on the G2, I would recommend the Driving Force GT. I wanted to keep the G25 so after googling I found several people that made it work so I was excited to try out some modifications. From the other reviewer on here they had said they used a 1x12 board so that's where I started. Using the provided velcro and some handy work I was able to mount the G25 pedal assembly. I connected the wood to the pedals using 5/16 x 1 1/2 inch screws. I then attached the whole thing to the metal plate of the playseat using 4 strips of velcro. I have added some pics of my handy work to the gallery (please enjoy). The one thing that I was excited about was the gearshift assembly mount, because that cost $50 if you were to order one. I made that from some shelving bracket and left over wood for about $2.
The review of the playseat over all is average. The seat itself is of good quality, but the frame is a little weak as many of the other reviewers had already said. The frame is flimsy but it's not overly flimsy that it's unusable. I think it's passable for the price you pay. The only really flimsy part is the single steering collumn where the body is attached to the steering wheel. Also the part where the metal rod attaches to the seat is also flimsy. If you want a more stable gaming seat I would consider getting the Playseat Evolution. The price is about $300 so you have to consider if you are willing to spend that much or not. Over all it works and I'm happy with it. It was worth the money I spent on it. My son and I are having a blast playing Dirt, Ridge Racer, Nascar 09 and Burnout Paradise on my PS3.

"nice racing seat", This seat Deffinitly gave me a boost on my racing performance, would of gave it a 5 but it wobles a bit, the center of it should have a support bar for stability even if they sold an after market support beam for it, be nice, be nice to it and it wont fail

"Works fine", I own a PS3 and the new Logitech GT wheel and the classic does a fine job. If you're hard-core and use the Logitech G25, you may want to spend extra for the Evolution but for console gamers, this should work just fine. It's not rock steady but that has not impacted my driving enjoyment.

"Great set up for the money!", I've had this seat for 1 week now. Playing Forza 2 is much more fun now than it was with the x360 controller. I agree with the previous poster regarding the rigidity of the steel used. The seat does squeak a bit when I get in and out of it. But, mine isn't that bad. I don't think I'd recommend this seat to anyone weighing more than around 250lbs though. It was easy to assemble with the included tools. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I just saw the VRX racing cockpit. Now that thing is impressive!

"Lacks Quality, but fills its purpose.", Welp, have gotten the Gaming Seat home and assembled and it looks GREAT and it definitely does what it's supposed to. To be honest, it's a nice addition to my racing setup. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it just doesn't live up to it's steep price tag. For the money, it should just have a more rigid, higher density frame. Every time I get up from the chair, the metal arm that mounts the foot pedals to the seat flexes and knocks stuff over. Luckily I got it on sale for a mere $199, I seriously wouldn't recommend buying it for any more than that.

"The playseat is great!", I just got my playseat and Logitech force pro wheel together and it is swell! I wish I got the black one instead of the blue one but, it still looks good. The seat is nice and cushioned and firm. The pole that holds the wheel is not perfect, it wobbles a tiny bit but, when you are driving you wont even notice it. The metal is put together a little better then good, I can see the welding of the pieces that are put together for a racing setup that costed me $330.76. I would recommend it then the sparco seat thats coming out because the wheel still doesn't feel real enough.
