"compressor" Pressureswitch never worked, unit doesn1t cycle. Machine works fine on manual switching. How do I get a press. switch replacement ?
"useless" This is a toy save your money a nd buy one with a cord for a lttle more and a lot more value
"Very Suprised, Excellent" I was very suprised as to the power of this tool, it sinks a 2 inch nail with no problem. The batteries lasts longer then I thought they would, it's very light and most of all the price was RIGHT ! Great tool, no complaints.
"Shoot From The Hip!"
The Palmgren 92101 HipShot 12-Volt Ni-Cad Tankless Cordless Shoulder Strap Compressor is 'absolutely awesome' according to our son-in-law. He is the jack of all trades in his family and ours so he needed something portable to use with his air tools. It was on sale for under fifty dollars so I bought one for myself to use at our cabin and one as a Christmas gift for him. He has just now had an opportunity to use it and was very pleased with it. I used my Dremel 290-01 1.15 Amp 7,200 Stroke Per Minute Engraver includes Letter and Number Template to brand both our sets. According to him it is ideal for his needs. I haven't used mine yet but, when I do, I will update my review. ~ The Boss
"Love it!" This compressor works great! I need it for small jobs around the house, and it's a much better alternative to having to drag the big compressor around just to tack on a few nails at a time. The battery has so far lasted through building two simple workshop shelves and tacking on some light wood rails to a bookshelf. It's not that slow either. I can make a shot per second (I'm new at woodworking), and it's kept up with me just fine.
Highly recommended for light jobs and smaller nails (I've only used it with 1.5", 18-gauge nails so far).

What our customer's say!
"this actually works quite well", Sometimes, I have to drive 400 nails, so I power up the 70 gallon compressor and connect all the hoses. I can fire multiple nails in a second, as it recovers very quickly. But, most of the time, I only need to drive ~20 nails, and I don't feel like dragging cords out to the shed. Especially not in August. So I use the Palmgren! It can only drive one nail every 2 seconds or so, but it does a perfect job, and it's quiet and cordless. For most of the jobs I do, this is the perfect compressor.
I took it to a jobsite last week and got mobbed! Jesus. Palmgren needs to make more of these; I don't want to get mugged for mine.
"Good for small projects", I used this portable compressor this weekend. Quality is good, minimal wieght and you can't beat the price. I used it with my finish nailer as well as to shoot 1 9/16 staples in a arbor that was falling apart. The unit recharged quickly but came on after every shot. I tried 3 shots with the stapler in a row and it worked fine each time. I like this compressor better than the Jac Pac. I returned the Jac pac and got this and i am very happy. This is prefect tool for small jobs around the house.
"Great idea, less than great implementation", I ordered this through an Amazon seller and got a good price even though I had to pay shipping. Think they are clearing them out. Seems like a good value in that you get the compressor, 2 batterys and a charger. The quality of this item is good. After verification that it worked, I took it apart. Inside quality looks good as well. The real problem is that output pressure cannot be adjusted. It is 125 psi which exceeds max on some of my air tools. Took apart to see if could be adjusted. No, contains a non-adjustable pressure switch obviously set to 125 psi. I usually set my pressure to about 90 psi which is less than the max for all of my tools but enough for all jobs. So, I thought I could regulate output down to about 90. Bought a small regulator at local Harbor Freight (on sale for 3.99 w/ fittings, or you can pay $20 at Home Depot, no fittings. Refitted for my needs for a few extra dollars. Had to replace the pressure meter with one of my own since Harbor F one leaked. With no real air pressure storage, cannot tolerate ANY leaks or compressor runs all of the time and cannot reach pressure. Think it will work ok for limited use I have in mind as a homeowner not wishing to drag big compressor into home for one or two shots. But, this item would have been a better design if only output could be regulated down and maybe somewhat more air storage. Plenty of room in case for more air storage.
"PERFECT FOR SMALL JOBS", Like many have stated, this product is perfect for a task in which you don't want to drag out the large compressor and fire it up. If you have something you need attached in the attic or crawl space you'd be glad you had this.
For me it fired about 60-70 2" brads before it needed recharging. It seems well built to me. The plastic housing is tough(no cracks after a few drops). The strap and attachemnts are good quality metal.
This is just a neat product, but it is not for large jobs. I would deduct 1 star because there is no case but the discounted price makes up for that.
"Palmgren 92101 Hipshot", The unit came with two rechargable 12v batteries and a auto-stop charger. A 6-8' coiled air hose with quick connects is included. A shoulder strap is provided for the 6.6 lbs compressor.
Both batteries were "empty" when shipped. The first battery took less than one hour to fully charge. I attached my DeVilbiss brad nailer to the compressor and started it up. It took 10 seconds to go from 0-120 PSI. It is surprisingly quiet. No louder than my ROS.
I loaded a strip of 100 18ga 1" brads. I nailed a piece of fir molding to a piece of 3/4" Birch Plywood. I shot as fast as I could, moving the nailer slightly between shots. I did not wait the two seconds recommended. I shot all 100 in a matter of minutes. Only six of the brads did not fully seat. At least some of those could be chalked up to my bad technique. When I waited the two seconds they all seated perfectly.
This works a lot better than I had hoped. It's just what I had in mind

"FYI", Workbench Magazine voted Palmgren's HipShot a Top 10 Most Innovative Tool of 2004. I went to their website to see how long they have been around, quite awhile. I decided to order the combo unit since I'd be getting the brad nailer for an additional $30. If it's less than great, I'll add an addendum after I receive it.
"Awesome! ", We initially purchased one of the 92101 compressors for our service technician to use when doing punch list items for our residential contracting company. The ability to walk into an occupied residence, without the cumbersome larger compressor/ hose/ cords etc. , was the main reason we wanted to try this unit out. The added benefit turned out to be how quiet the unit is when operating. Although it is not a rapid fire machine, it served its purpose well for random pieces of trim or a cabinet detail we needed to apply. We have since purchased three more of the units for our project managers to carry with them in case of a last minute punch list type item or small trim detail that doesn't require a lot of nailing to install. For our applications, the product has performed very well.
"Love the Portability", I have used this little compressor for about three weeks now and it has performed very well indeed! I love that it's lightweight and battery operated, makes it very portable. We also have a larger compressor (6 gallon?) that my husband uses for big projects, but this compressor is much better suited for small jobs. So far with this compressor we have re-upholstered our dining room chairs, installed trim around the new laminate floor in the small kitchen, and repaired our wood fence.
Pros: *Works with other nailers - we used a Bostitch nailer-stapler and borrowed a friend's Hitachi finish nailer. *Battery operated and lightweight *Quiet compared to our bigger compressor *Recharger has a red and green light to tell you when battery is charged *Includes two batteries - I use one while recharging the other
Cons: *Wait between shots of a couple seconds for the compressor to build up pressure. (Not a big deal though, you just can't use it for a big job.) *Won't replace our big compressor because of limited number of shots per battery charge
The battery lasted long enough for each of my projects. The compressor performs as advertised and I will definitely consider this for a couple people on my gift list.
"Great for the Home Workshop", I like this unit. It's lightweight, in several senses. I got several batteries, and I keep recycling them through the charger when working for long stretches. The brad nailer is a very precise unit, no jams so far. The compressor broke after a week, but customer service was superb, very happy on that score. Nailed up a cedar closet, made a few picture frames. I'm keeping it! There's also a version that's a little cheaper, without the battery feature. That one would be a more suitable comparison to the units that tether you to a huge, rolling compressor. By the way the Palmgren is relatively quiet when its compressor kicks in.
"Disapointed", One thing that was not mentioned is that you can only shoot 8 nails per battery charge. I returned this product for that reason. On the job site you need to be able to shoot a lot more than that.
