"Sustain Pedal"
Nice pedal, but I had to open and tighten the pedal. Looks like they missed a QC step.

"Better than other pedals."
I own several other sustain pedals, and I like the M-Audio SP-2 the best. It's heavy, which keeps it stable on the floor, and rugged. I actually have two of these units.

"Polarity switch - makes this universal pedal a good choice"
The description leaves out an important feature of this pedal--a polarity switch. Some keyboards interpret the signal from the pedal differently, meaning that if you match the wrong pedal with the wrong keyboard, then the sustain is on when the pedal is up.

This pedal has a polarity switch, so it can be used for either style keyboard.

"Watch out if you are looking for half-pedaling capability"
Contrary to the product discription, this pedal DOES NOT SUPPORT EXPRESSIVE HALF-PEDALING. It is a solid product otherwise, but if you are buying this for half-pedal support - do not do it! I am returning mine.

"Not at all bad!"
This sustain pedal works very well with my new Yamaha portable keyboard. It is sturdy, durable, and precise. About my only complaint is that its anti-skid base is not quite as anti-skid as advertised, at least in the situations I use the pedal. On carpet rather than on tile, it probably would not-skid without a hitch.

What our customer's say!

"Great for what it is - a on/off sustain pedal", as mentioned by another reviewer, this is a on/off switch type of sustain pedal, either sustain or no sustain. So it's more like a guitar pedal than a piano one. But again, expensive electric pianos come with their own pedals. This one I bought to be used on a cheap Casio keyboard from Costco. So I didn't expect it to work like a real piano pedal to begin with. Considering the price, this pedal is rock solid and works way beyond my expectation. Great piece of work. Thanks M-Audio!

"Nice action!", I'm delighted by this pedal. It makes my Casiotone seem that much less cheesy, and I enjoy playing it much more now. I miss the baby grand I grew up with, and having faux piano action on a smooth-looking sustain pedal makes a difference for some reason. I recommend this over any other model.

"Great, sturdy pedal! Works even with my WK-1200", This pedal comes out of the box with pretty much only the pedal and the cable that leads to the assignable jack. I hooked it up to my CASIO WK-1200 and it works like a charm. I even use my keyboard as a midi controller in REASON 4.0 and the sustain is beautiful. Gives my piano pieces MUCH more life. This pedal is also extremely sturdy. It's bigger in person than on the pictures and it stays very, very firm on the ground. It comes with this hard plastic cover over the pedal tongue, but I don't see why It should be removed.

"Works great and very sturdy", I bought this for my son's Casio Previa. It has always performed well and it is very sturdy. I even vacummed the cord by accident and shredded it, but after splicing it back together and wrapping it in electrical tape it worked again--no problems.

"Great Pedal, Sturdy, Easy to use", I bought this pedal about a month ago and I love it. It is heavy and feels sturdy like you would want a pedal to feel. It has a switch on the bottom that makes it compatible with more keyboards. I haven't noticed any squeaking or problems yet, and I don't expect to. It seems to be a pretty good quality pedal and I love it. I think Amazon does a good job of describing this pedal. I use it with my Yamaha Motif.

"Worth the money", I did a lot of online research and determined that people that enjoy their products rarely review them, while people unhappy with their purchases enjoy blasting them in reviews.

This pedal works great with my Casio Privia, and the action is realistic which is perfect for my piano students. I don't hear any squeaking or creaking, it is weighted and doesn't slide around. I kept the plastic cover on the pedal so the chrome stays pretty (and it helps the younger students reach it a little better) but I would definitely recommend it.

"Great!", It feels solid, and a good but smooth resistance when you step on it. Very nice pedal!

"Good pedal for price", I've used this pedal with a Casio PX200 keyboard for about 6 weeks now.

Pros:
-Sturdy construction (compared with the plastic footswitch type pedals that come with keyboards).
-Polarity switch - I was using a Yamaha FC4 with an older keyboard, but the FC4 does not work properly with the Casio keyboards. It's a tip-negative polarity, and the Privia requires a tip-positive polarity. So the piano would operate in reverse (sustain on until the pedal is depressed). Thankfully, the SP-2 has a switch on the bottom that can switch and accomodate any keyboard.
-Cord is long enough (6')

Con:
-Build quality is slightly less than the FC4. The FC4 has a smooth action (made in Japan), but the SP-2 had some problems with the metal spring squeaking. Some lubricant helped to fix most of the squeaking.

The SP-2 also comes with a plastic cap if you prefer to cover the metal pedal. Overall, it is a solid product and almost a necessary upgrade for the plastic footswitch pedals.

"A solid product", I had another pedal become intermittent, and after trying several times to fix it, bought a new one. This pedal has been quite reliable, and I recommend it.

"Sustain Pedal", Product works fine -- looks like a pedal from a real piano.
