"worse software ever", In my life I have used a variety of scientific and other software. I have never come across something as cumbersome and difficult as Quickbooks. The help menu is completely useless and the "technical support" is an absolute joke. I actually got some poor woman in India whose idea of help was to say "UM" for 3 minutes. So far I have figured out what I can on my own, the only thing they seem to be good at is putting you in a position where you have to spend more money.

"Upgrading from 2004", When I tried to upgrade from 2004 to 2005 I ran into a problem because I didn't have Flash 7.0 installed. Actually I had a later version of Flash (9.04) but of course Quickbooks couldn't handle that. Here's the fix: go to the Adobe site and download the uninstall program from them. Uninstall your flash player and then Quickbooks will then proceed. Good luck. Joe

"Not good for detailed retail sales", I bought this software at the recommendation of my accountant. Well, after trying to use it for two years now, I'm ready to burn it. It's a great software for people who do their business by the projects, but it's not good for retail sales. Everything has been a hassel, especially trying to set up the daily sales so I can record detailed inventory of my daily sales. Yes, I noticed they did come out w/a new version for specifically for retail sales. After I already invested in $300 in software and $100 in books just trying to learn this system. What a waste!

"I HATE QUICKBOOKS", WHAT A BUNCH OF MONEY GRABBING IDIOTS! IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING BUYING QUICKBOOKS, DON'T!!!!!!! I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH A PRODUCT. THEY TAKE FEATURES AWAY, ESPECIALLY WITH PAYROLL, IF YOU DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS. THEN WHEN YOU CALL TO ASK WHAT IS GOING ON, THEY TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE NOT PURCHASED THEIR SUPPORT PROGRAM AND THAT THEY CANNOT HELP YOU!!

I HATE QUICK BOOKS. THEIR IS NOTHING QUICK ABOUT IT AND THE SO CALLED SUPPORT STAFF ARE A BUNCH OF LIARS!!!

"The company is so bad, they overshadow their own product!", This is probably one of the best examples of the worst kind of company! They got where they are because they gave small business an accounting program, and in return, small businesses gave their loyalty and their dollars, and now Intuit abuses those same customers by forcing upgrades they don't need and often can't afford in light of the skyrocking cost increases. The real kicker is, if you don't upgrade, they TAKE AWAY PROGRAM FUNCTIONALITY from the version you've already bought and paid for(tax tables, email capabilities, to name two). I despise this company and their product, and after 14 yrs., we've bent over enough and we're DONE! They expect our 5 person company to upgrade to the next version, which would require an upgrade of our operating systems in order to be compatible, PLUS the cost of another payroll subscription , costing us hundreds and hundreds of dollars we can't afford and don't need to spend! I've already found a shareware program that will restore the function that allows for emailing invoices to customers (STOLEN by Intuit when we didn't upgrade) and am currently searching for some way to import a tax table (also STOLEN by Intuit when we didn't upgrade). If I can find that, we can keep the version we're using for years as it suits our needs just fine. We should have the right to make that decision and not have it result in the crippling of a program we've already bought. Intuit makes Microsoft look like warm, fuzzy teddy bears, and I think it's time we all get together and raise a big enough fuss that their business practices will finally come under the same kind of scrutiny Microsoft has been subject to for years. I dare say we'd see some changes.....at the very least, an end to the theft of our property!!

"Great for Churches, too", As a small church, we've been impressed with the Quickbooks products. It is user friendly and can be adapted to the needs of a church with little difficulty. The software package is reliable and does not break down often (if at all).

"looks great but not user friendly", This is very difficult to use if you are not selling wiggetts but a service. Hard to see the big picture or delete invoices. A problem at every turn. I am disappointed as I thought this was going to be great. I ended up getting an accountant.

"Very easy to use and more features than you're likely to use", I've been using various versions of Quickbooks for many years. I don't have much knowledge or interest in accounting in general, so I need a product that is easy to use, and Quickbooks certainly is easy to use. I tried many different products but Quickbooks just seemed the easiest to use. Basically all I want to do is record transactions and then print out reports for my accountant. Quickbooks makes this very easy indeed. There are tons of extra features in the product and as my business grows I'm starting to use more of those features, especially the numerous reports.

My only complaint would be that I would be happy to still be using the version I purchased about 7 years ago. When I got a new computer it was very difficult to install my old version as the online confirmation web site no longer supported the product. I felt a little forced into upgrading. But I guess that this is the way that many software companies operate these days.



"Great Service", I purchased Quick Books for a new business and have found it to be easy to use and helpful to track payables and receipts. Amazon service was very good.

"LONG TIME USER OF QB's", Highly recommend Quickbooks Pro for small businesses. I have been using Quickbooks since 1996 and other Intuit products including TurboTax for Business since 2000 for filing my corporate taxes. The key to using QB is the intial setup for your particular business.
