"Big Improvement", Really big improvement and better than the first. Better graphics and more fun...I think. It's not a waste of money!

"Fun", I really liked this game especially how it was fun but only for a little while. After a while it got old then it came back and then I lost intrest again. But if you really love animals and couldn't wait to make a Zoo of your own then perfect excellent choice. But it you are looking at rollercoaster Tycoon and this get roallercoaster first you can put a waterpark, rollercoasters, and animals in that but these games are both very fun.

"Doubt between original Zoo Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon 2?", I was a RollerCoaster Tycoon fan, but then I wanted to try Zoo Tycoon. Downloaded the trial version and liked it, so I bought it.

BEFORE I bought it, I was in a really big doubt between getting Zoo Tycoon Complete Collection ($[...]) or Zoo Tycoon 2 ($[...]). I looked everywhere to find forums to tell me which one was better. I couldn't find it, so I'm typing here. I really liked Zoo Tycoon 2. I didn't play the full version of the original Zoo Tycoon, but I don't know if it would be as cool as Zoo Tycoon 2. I really enjoyed Zoo Tycoon 2.

What I liked the most was ZooKeeper mode AND the Challenge Mode - this is the game mode I like, and wish there was this mode on RCT. It works like this: You choose a zoo, choose your money, and start with some available animals to buy, and you receive some challanges from time-to-time. Then you have to make your zoo more famous. It is cooler than Campaign Mode, I gotta say. I think that this feature (Challenge Mode) isn't available in the original ZT.

So, in conclusion, I recommend Zoo Tycoon 2. I am playing this game WITHOUT any expansion pack, and it is awesome!

"Daughter loves it!", I bought this game for my 11-year-old daughter because she likes computer and video games, and because I happened to notice it on a list of parent-recommended software. After reading some of the reviews here, I was a little hesitant, but it wasn't that expensive so I figured I would give it a try.

She LOVES it! When I got home from work last night she had installed it herself, taken some tutorials, learned to play it, and was busily watching giraffes being born and setting up amenities for her zoo visitors. I'm not a huge fan of sim games, but this has certainly kept her absorbed. I think she's going to learn a lot from this game, and it's a fun activity for those boring summer days.

Definitely a good game for my daughter!

"I spend all day playing this game", I loved this game from the start. I liked that you got to make your own zoo and play with it. Whenever my friends come over we always play zoo tycoon 2. Whenever I played it never would freeze but just in case it did I saved it about every 15 minutes.

"COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!", When I first found the game I was SO HAPPY! THe first version is TRASH JUNK WORTHLESS compared to this!! Oh, and if it gives you a little dialog box saying you don't have enough system memory and the dialog box has a 'don't show me this again' check box thingy and a continue button then check the afore mentioned check box and click continue. It'll probably work alright.The grahfics when you walk into people (it seems to "cut" through the people) aren't so great. {Minus one star.} Other than that its great!!! To all the people who don't like the game BE QUIET SHADDUP!

"Great Game! Not so great for Zoo Tycoon 1 fans", If you have ever played the first game in this series, then you might not find this game so enjoyable. Here are some pros and cons that compare and contrast this game from the first Zoo Tycoon:

Pros:
Great graphics: the graphics in this game were significantly greater than the ones in Zoo Tycoon 1. You can zoom in and get up close and personal with your animals and guests. The animals, guests, and buildings now have better details than before.

Environment Creator: there is a simplier way to make the environment in the exhibit more compatible for the animal, another simple click and drag system. This can also be a con however, if, like me, you are one of those Zoo Tycoon fans who liked clicking around on the grid trying to make the exhibit look amazing.

Cons:
Less Animals: This game has less animals than the original Zoo Tycoon. I kept wondering whether or not I would have to research the missing animals, but I did not find them there.


If you buy this game, be sure to pick up the endagered species expansion. The Marine one is no good though.

Overall this is a good game worth buying and playing. Microsoft could have done better.

You can name the animals and take care of the animals yourself. There is a freeform mode and leopard. I really like the leopard. I only have the demo but am waiting for my inter-library loan to come in. My demo is not dull and I also have the old version of the game.

"Great Work Microsoft!", INTRO
I picked this game up at Wal-Mart one day with my dad, and when I got home I tried it out. It took a bit to install it, but all in all it was fantastic. I was very impressed with the graphics, and music is cute also.

PROS
When you start at the main screen, you can play the Campiagn game, the Challenge game, and the Freeform game. The Campiagn game has different challenges with different animals, like 3 months talking care of Elephants. Then there's the Challenge game, where you can choose your money from 1,000 dollars-10,000,000 dollars! I personaly like the the Freeform game the best, because you can choose from any animal, fence, building, furnish, biome, tree, flower, path,rock,toy,animal shelter,or animal food you want! You also have unlimited money, which is a big plus (Let's wish for that in real life)!

CONS
These are the cons of these games:
Doesn't save your game right (I lost over 4-5 zoos)
Bad graphics with the people who come to your zoo
Doesn't exit right

CONCLUSION
All in all I love this game. It is amazing, and it is so much better than the first. If you love creating and animals like I do, I recomend this game to you!
