"Hooked", This game is very addictive. It took me about 15 minutes to figure it out, but after I did I couldn't tear myself away. You can transition between adding on to the mansion and making magazines. SO when you're bored of one, just start doing the other. Plus, there's hot avatars and faux sex. Gotta love it!

"not as boring as some say", i had this game for ps2 and really liked it. it can get a little bit boring but it is still fun. Where else can you play as hugh hefner? The pc version is much better than the ps2, the ps2 allows you only 1 photo for each photo shoot. the pc version lets you shoot an entire roll, 24 exposures during a centerfold or cover shoot and you can then choose later between them for each months issue. Boring to some but fun to me.

"Fun game but what the hell are they saying in it?", The playboy mansion is an okay game as far as what you do and how the plot is set up, but why do all of the characters sound garbled? I almost thought it was a south park game... jk In playboy manison, you are Hugh Hefner the creator and founder of the playboy enterprise. It's up to you to design fabulous magazine spreads, bring in the bacon, throw parties, and live the life basically. I agree with all of the other reviews in here as to this game getting to be boring after a while. But if you have nothing else to do for fun in the evening, this game can help pass the time. Buy the private party expansion pack if you get this game. Their is so much more stuff in it that you can do and try out.

"Snore...", You are looking for a more titillating Sims with a management component mixed in? Well, look elsewhere...

This is one boring game. It tried to steal a lot of ideas from The Sims, but they are all implemented badly. Wanna build a business relationship with a rock star? Just click the "business conversation" button often. Creating the magazine itself is boring too. It always happens exactly the same way. Photo shoots are boring pretty much right away. And as far as the sexy content goes... well, it ain't sexy.

If I were you, I'd pass on this one.

"Could have been better", If you have played any other type of sims game this one would seem a bit shallow. After a while you notice that the characters react the same way everytime a particular interaction is performed. For example; When Hef offers a gift he reaches behind himself to get it. The person whom he is interacting with always tries to look over his shoulder moving left & right as he does this. It might have been nice if the game design had a bit more randomness of action in it.

My Windows version of the game has some sort of glitch that appears every time you do a wardrobe change during a photoshoot. At first the digital model looks fine, but after you attempt a change of clothes, a digital cover appears on her head. It looks like someone took a rag and draped it over the digital model's head. I suspect the game code controlling the physics and movement of the model's hair is the problem. Hopefully the software makers can come up with a patch to repair this problem.

On the plus side, it is fun to run the magazine empire. This is probably the best part of the game. The extras are also nice. You have the option of giving all your playmates a boob job. This makes watching the models walk and dance around a lot of fun. Watch closely, you will see the model's arms pass right through her breasts as though they weren't even there!

If you are already playing Sims 2, this game will probably seem limited and repetitive. It doesn't have nearly the depth of character Sims 2 has. I suggest waiting until this game shows up on the discount rack.



"Fun at the Mansion ", As far as I am concerned John Smith's review totally missed the mark. He might be into lewd, crass, and thoughtless entertainment but Playboy the Mansion definitely isn't that. The graphics are quality, the management part is cool, and the photo shoot section is killer. Still learning the game but like what I've seen so far.

"Not Great", If you want a PG13 SIM then this game is for you.

Sim games that were made 5 years ago were better than this. Graphics were OK, but game play got old real fast.
