"One show, one box, one low price"
The year was 1987 and NASA launches the last of America's deep space probes, Ranger 7, and it's pilot Captain William "Buck" Rodgers... Freak mishap...five hundred years later...

Bad special effects. Saving the planet each week. Disco attire. What's not to love?

"What a blast!"
I love this show! The box set is beautiful, great quality transfers but no extras to speak of. I would give this a 5 star for the first season but the second season really drops off and while it's still a lot of fun you can see why the viewership really tanked. What could have been a long running sci-fi series had it's life cut short due to poor choices on the part of the writers. Still, it's well worth the money and I find myself putting in a random episode at least once a week.

"What a Fun, one of the best from it's time."
This is all about fun, I've been buying a lot of old series here at Amazon, sometimes to find out that it's time has passed and I can't even pass trough the first episode.
But this is not the case with Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.
The episodes had clever and well written stories from a time were the good guys always won and the happy endings were all over.
Watching Erin Gray at her best is also something to consider :-)
All in all, if you're looking for something to have fun with, remember good moments and keep a piece of good Sci-Fi history in your shelf, you won't be disapointed.
As an important side note, this box includes also the 2nd season, not as good as the first but also very interesting, the one were Buck and friends leave earth and go into a deep space exploration mission along with the Hawk Character.
Enjoy !

"Great Collection for a Great TV Show"
YES, it was a silly show.

YES, it was half slapstick and half bad sci-fi.

And YES--it was one heckuva lot of fun.

In the rush of science fiction shows that came out after Star Wars hit it big Buck Rogers probably ranks as the overall best one to hit the small screen. Not because it was REMOTELY "great sci-fi", but it was very much FUN sci-fi.

This is a great collection of these classic shows, and I recommend it to anybody who enjoys a fun, silly show.

"One of my favorite shows growing up...."
Along with Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers was THE sci-fi show I loved watching growing up.

All the episodes are here and if you are a Buck Rogers fan, then the price cannot be beat.

What our customer's say!

"Great, Great, Great!", If you saw these as a kid, then you must get this set. Sure it's 80s cheese but that's the point. Buck was a stud and Wilma a fox. She still is even when I see the shows now! My kids, especially the 8 yr old love them too. The four year old watches them some too but his mind wanders a bit!

"The Deal of the 21st Century", My goodness...Buck Rogers The Complete Series is now down to 13.99?? That's almost half of what I paid for Jason of Star Command! I thought I got this at a steal at 17.99...which I certainly did...but at this price, this is easily the all-time greatest deal for a TV series on DVD yet.

The show is a blast. Cool FX (cheesy at times, awesome at others, but always cooler than CGI), great spaceships, 70's disco-influenced regalia, hot space chicks in sexy clothes (Erin Gray is just the start), fun stories, and a cast that enjoys themselves and what they're doing...it all adds up to a non-stop fun excursion back to your childhood.

The prints look great and the packaging is even very nice. There is no doubt whatsoever about the incredible value of this set. Either for yourself or the kids, for this price, you gotta buy it.

"Buck Rogers Review", A must have for all you aging Gen-Xers that grew up watching bad sci-fi on TV.

"MUY BUENA ", ES UN PAQUETE EXCELENTE, Y SOBRE TODO TIENE LETREROS EN ESPAÑOL. GRACIAS.
¡DIOS LOS SIGA BENDICIENDO MUCHO!

"Quality box set for the most part...", The complete series for less than $20? Sold. My copy came in this week and i have to say i am very pleased with my purchase overall. The 5-disc box set's artwork is nicely done and so are the dvd menus found within. For season one you get the tv 'teasers', or whatever they call it, right before the episode starts. But both seasons have text summaries for each episode you're about to watch so no guesswork is involved(i know i should just go through them all in order, but it was hard to resist skipping around finding favorite episodes to watch first). The picture/sound quality is mostly good and consistent but i did notice a few lapses here and there but nothing major. Only major complaint i have is the lack of ANY extras(unless there's some easter eggs i haven't found yet).

As for the show, i enjoyed both seasons(yes, even the 'less fun' season 2). The second one was a drastic change from the first but Thom Christopher is one of those changes, and for the better too. His character and that bird-like spaceship of his was the coolest thing i saw when i was a kid. I'm glad to say i skipped to the 2-part episode that introduced him and everything held up pretty well after all these years. And even though i liked season one a little more, there were truly some awe-inspiringly embarrassing moments in it. If you've ever seen The Office tv show and cringed, you need to take a look at some of these episodes. Hilarious moments that make you wonder why you bought this set, and then you remember...cause it's entertaining. Recommended.

other reasons to get this set: Princess Ardala, Erin Gray in white, Erin Gray in blue, Erin Gray in maroon, re-used sound efx from Battlestar Galactica, etc. (did i mention Erin Gray is in this?)

"Great Show", I think this is still a great show!
I agree that the 1st season is much better than the second.
I think when they tried to lose the camp they also lost all the fun.
I highly recommend it still though
Buck Rogers
Wilma Deering
Dr Huer
Twiki
Princess Ardala
Kane
what more could a kid at heart
ask for in sci-fi fun

"BUCK RODGERS, SPACE GREAT.", This dvd set is great. I really like Erin Gray. She did a great job of acting her part. She is very sexy. Gil was a fine Buck Rodgers. It was comical at times and there was some action in it too. The picture quality was superb. All in all I would give it a good rating like 9 out of 10 stars.

"Fun with Buck, Wilima and Twiki", If you are a fan this is a good one to own, the first season is better than the short second season. There is not additional info beyond the shows. There are clear and worth a revisit.

"80's flashback", Disco in space, allusions to drugs and sex and the inappropriate quad, Twiki. I loved this show when I was little and it was a great to see some of the episodes again. It never occured to me then just how different the second series was - it seems like all the writers from Galactica got on board Buck Rogers' Searcher for the second season, as they now are looking for the lost tribes of man somewhere in a kind of road movie in space. The first season is still the best, Buck provides an ethically sound role-model of a hero, and the theatrical pilot allows a glimps of one of the unintentionally funniest opening song videos I've ever seen - attempted a low budget title song to be incorporated into the plot long after the filming was completed.

"I heard about this but ...", ... I hoped I wouldn't encounter it.

I love the series, but, product quality seems to have been left behind.

We just received it last week, and have only gotten thru the first disc, and already there are two episodes with disc errors; the second & third episode on the second side of the first disc. Second has scrambles in several spots, and third has extremely long 'commercial pauses', like the player can't find the beginning of the next chapter.

So much for quality control. Where's the link for customer service?
