"Double Flange Mod"
Out of the box this is an overkill for my ear canal.
What works best for me in terms, of sound isolation, sound quality, and comfort
is to shorten the length of this sleeve at the bottom as well as convert this into a
Double Flange Sleeve.
This is what I do:
The first step is cut and eliminate the top flange
flush at the top of the second flange with a sharp knife.
The second step is to flip the bottom flangue inside out to shorten
the shaft below the bottom flange with a sharp knife so the entire shaft
of the sleeve is about the length of the earbud's shaft.
For those unhappy with the price of the PA755
I haven't tried this but there is a 3 pair tripple flangue by shure: product EA306
which seems to be very similar to the PA755 and less than the price of one
pair of PA755
There is another Mod I will try later, I will leave all three flanges intact
but I will cut the entire shaft below the bottom flange flush with the bottom flange

"Not bad, but slightly overpriced"
I'm using these triple-flange sleeves with the e2c's, even though officially they are not compatible (according to Shure). They fit tightly onto the nozzles of the e2c's buds, but they do fit if you carefully slip them on, and make sure they don't tear.

Quality-wise, these sleeves work well, and are definitely easier to put in and are more comfortable than the foam sleeves or rubber tips, though I feel that the foams give better isolation. The foams are reusable only to a certain extent, however (they start to deform and harden within weeks), while these triple-flanges should last as long as you keep them clean and prevent them from ripping (latex is durable enough). I've been using them for about 2 weeks now without any problems, and am definitely glad I ordered a pair. I do have one complaint, though, and that is that (like another customer mentioned) these are a bit overpriced for a single pair of small likely mass-produced latex sleeves. I'll consider it worth it, though, if they last through the year.

Cliffs: An excellent replacement for the sleeves that come with Shure canalphones, but they should be cheaper.

"FOAM > Triple-Flange but only by 5-10%"
Firt off I want to say that I love the triple-flanges in terms of sound and comfort. The Foam inserts are a little more comfortable and isolate a little better (note better as in 10% better not twice as good or anything). However I'm sick of having to replace the foams every 2 weeks or so esp. since they cost like 2-3 bucks a pair! After a week they start to get stiff and yucky and completely loose the awesome fit and isolation. Trading away 10% of the comfort and 5-10% of the isolation is totally worth the hassle and cost of replacing the foams (if Shure or someone else sold the foams for a reasonable price things would be different). The sound quality is excellent with the triple-flanges since they isolate so much better than the grey inserts that come with the e3cs. The bass especially is excellent due to the nice tight fit. TIP: I shortened these long sleeves by cutting off the tube from the end end that goes on the e3c earphone's nozzle. I cut them off uptil the botton of the last (biggest) flange. I found the bass to be improved a little when I did this probably due to the reduced distance from drivers to ear-drums and now I can wear my ear warmers again without feeling like q-tips were being driven into my ear! :) Recommend it if youre sick of the foam's cost and durability.

"Shure PA755 Triple-Flange Sleeves for Shure Sound-Isolating Earphones"
Not a bad product, but soooo overpriced for what must be a penny's worth of latex...

"Perfect -- the difference between mediocre and great headphones"
I've been using them at night, on airplanes.. These made the difference between me not really liking my headphones very much and really loving them. They block out sound better than most ear plugs and stay in my ears. Great!

What our customer's say!

"Shure PA755 Triple Flange Sleeves rock!", These are great! An absolute must for anyone who uses in-ear monitors and can't afford $500 or more for custom ear molds. Using these was almost like being in a near-field monitoring (i.e., studio) environment.

"Quick and easy bargain", I bought these for Westone UM1s and they work great! Thanks to reviewer Pedro for the tip on cutting off the top (smallest) flange. Before I trimmed, they had a terrible seal (airy, no bass) and hurt my ears. After I cut off the small top and trimmed the stem to even with the 3rd (largest) flange, they work perfectly. They are much easier to put in than the comply tips that came with the UM1s. They do not block quick as much exterior sound as the comply foam tips in my opinion, but they take 2 seconds to insert for me vs having to squish the hard foam over and over to put those other ones in. I am hoping they do not get as nasty from ear dirt as the Complys did (I often wore them shortly after showering. Foamies don't work so well when wet!)

Unless you have large ears, follow the directions and cut them. It's a 10x improvement. The sound is terrific.

"They work", These ear bud covers work very well. They may take a few times of wearing them to get used to the feeling (alittle more pressure then the soft foam)but they stay in. I run on a treadmill and it's hard to find buds that stay in the ear.

"I does the job !!!", I am a frequent traveler and I was looking for a more portable alternative to Bose headset for short trips. My expectations were low that the triple flange sleeves would block out enough noise to be useful, but after reading many reviews I decided to try them. What I found is that the triple flange sleeves do an excellent job blocking out the noise and one my most recent trip overseas, I chose to use the Shure E2C ear buds with the triple flange sleeves over the Bose headset and I was pleasantly surprised. The delivery of the product from the vendor was prompt and you will have to work the flange sleeves a bit to fit the E2C ear buds. I strongly recommend trying this product and vendor.

"Great", I love these. They fit great and isolate great.

The retail price is $10 for 3 or 4 pair. Do not buy 1 pair for $10. Someone's opening the retail box and making 75% profit over the retail price.

"good sound isolation but sound quality not so great", I bought a pair of these recently for my Shure E3's, and was quite impressed with how they block out outside sounds. However, after a few days I keep thinking there was something wrong with my hearing. My music sounded really scratchy/distored. I swicthed back to different earbud, and the clarity of the music returned. I have to agree with the one person that said sound quality suffers. IT really does. The bass is not enhanced by these ear buds, In fact I would say the opposite. I have no idea why that would be though.

"Nice compromise", Like most people who purchased Shure headphones (I have the E3C), I tried all the sleeves: The translucent ones were too hard and kept falling out; the grey flex sleeves were great for about half an hour (I tried them several times) but seemed to fall out because of perspiration from my ear canal; the foam ones probably gave me the best bass, but I got frustrated with them hardening after a week or two so, and with having to take them out and re-roll and insert them when someone wanted to talk to me at work. So, I purchased these. Except for the slight edge in the bass that the foam sleeves provide, I'm very happy with the sound quality of these. They stay in my ears, are easy to insert and remove, and can be cleaned and reused (unlike the foam).

One issue I have--everyone's ears are different....--is that my left ear canal is a bit narrower than my right one. These sleeves seem to handle this situation the best of all the sleeves. A second issue is that these sleeves seem to accentuate the treble and midrange at the expense of the bass. I still use the foam sleeves for music that is more bass heavy (No, I'm not a bass head) but as an all-around sleeve, I probably prefer these.

As someone else pointed out, Shure really ought to include these sleeves with all their headphones. Perhaps they make a fortune selling them separately.

"Great Sound, More Comfortable Than Stock", I regularly wear triple flange earplugs for work, so I'm used to the fit. I cut the shaft off at the top of the outer flange and these fit comfortably. They block out most ambient noise, and my music sounds great. Worth every dime.

"great enhancement for noise cancellation and sound improvement", These sleeves worked great for increasing the effective noise cancelling capability as well as the overall sound quality of the E3c earphones. They most noticably improved the bass response - as they make for a much more secure fit. They fit better if the stem is trimmed to be flush with the flange itself, and although they were specifically noted to be for the e1's and e5's, they work great on my e3's. Overall - a great way to enhance the earphones that I would recommend to everyone that uses them.

"They fit pretty well, but sound quality suffers", Happy with the three tips included, I decided to try these for the heck of it. While they go nicely and comfortably deep into the ear and don't dare come out until you intend for them to, for some reason, they diminish the quality of the sound greatly. I can most closely describe it as the sound of overcompressed MP3s. They took nearly all of the clarity out of the music.
