"I like poop"
Ant sent me an email asking me to review them. I don't want to review them, but they sound desperate so here goes.

It's a cheap keyboard. It works. Thanks.

"Great keyboard"
I really enjoy this keyboard. Nice medium throw key switches make typing faster. They aren't quite as shallow as a laptop board but are also much more shallow than a traditional keyboard. Good balance. I owe a few more WPM to this key design.

The media controls work great, and the software has been flawless.

I've been using this for a few months now and it's my favorite board yet. Nice work Logitech.

"Excelente producto!"
Sencillamente, me ha gustado. Muy util y funcional. Sus botones para cada funcion, programa o acceso estan comodisimos!
Simplemente, una maravilla de teclado.

"Very Good Plus"
The keys do not at all "look cheap" and they perform perfectly, without the clack-clack. The features all make sense, much more useful all around than the Microsoft Natural Elite it replaces (after one year, because several keys stopped functioning after a sponge-wipe). The F-keys function all the time normally: everything does. There is indeed logicality in the layout and, if it lasts, this is well worth the $20 tag! Knock off one star because the software surreptitiously installed a "sub-web dark" spyware, which was caught by McAffee and removed via SpyBot. I think that the touch typest might prefer a tighter key spacing, and pay more money for it.

"Sensual touch & intelligently designed"
This is my first media-enhanced keyboard because I usually avoid such vainglorious frills. I'm beginning to think this might have been misplaced purism on my part because this is
the best keyboard I've had and I have a stack of them, mostly discarded in irritation because the noise they make is giving me tinnitus. As a 60 word plus typist I've been searching the land for a keyboard I can enjoy using or at least endure; a keyboard that actually gives me accuracy without pain, springyness without god-awful clickety clackety keys. I've only had this a few hours so I can't say whether I'll still be saying the same after a few day or weeks but this is a very intelligently designed, high quality keyboard - much better than the cherry I purchased especially not so long ago. It may not be to everyones taste - as the previous reviews suggest - but I would thoroughly recommend this if you want a low-decibel (almost silent in comparison to most keyboards I've tried) & I think very comfortable keyboard. Some of the media keys (I've always hated the idea) are actually very useful in parts - especially the volume and pause/play buttons. But despite this and the fact that it bears a slight similarity to an Xbox gamepad it also looks functional and less gizmo-like that most of the 'knobs-on' multimedia keyboards out there at the moment. Never liked Logitech stuff until now. Treat yourself, buy one. (Caveat: smallish keys may not suit fat-fingered typists though).

What our customer's say!

"It's a KEYBOARD,what do you want", It is a good serviceable, easy to use keyboard. It doesn't dance, it doesn't sing, it does keyboard stuff. It DOES have some good media keys, easy to figure out. And I hope I will never find out how "fluid-resistant" it is, but I probably will.........

"nice", This is the perfect keyboard ( I know cuz I am typing on it right now ) I recommend if you like media boards.

"I have to agree with the previous reviewer", The keys are too close together!! I like the media keys but the regular keys for typing are awful. I wish I had not gone with this one. I should have bought the HP Media Keyboard. Shallow keys and too close together make for lots of typos!! Good thing I only paid $14 for it, or I would have been more upset.

"Great!", This keyboard is great. It has very comfortable typing positions, and the special function keys are also great!

"Great keyboard", I really can't complain at all about it. The keys are easy to press, the media functionality works nicely. The only thing that's a pain is logitech's drivers aren't that great, but the default windows one work fine. I'd recommend it to anyone.

"Forgive my typos-I'm using it now!!", If I could give this a zero star rating, I would. I've always like Logitech's mouse products, but this keyboard is terrible! The media keys have a cheap look to them, but more importantly, the regular keys are all scrunched together. Just typing this, I look like I'm playing the world's smallest piano. The home/delete/end keys are not in their standard configuration, and the delete key is now 'conveniently' the same size as 'enter' and 1/8" apart.
Rather than make the entire keyboard larger to accomodate the media keys, they simply reduced spacing on the standard keys-so you have all the inconvenience of a mini laptop keyboard without the portability.
The media keys can be programmed, but other keyboards have these features without forgetting the main function of a keyboard-to be able to type!!

"Terrible Warranty Treatment", Logitech Keyboard Issue

On 22-Nov-2004 I called Logitech at 1-702-269-3457 to arrange for an RMA. They said no need to return the broken unit, they would send a replacement keyboard out within 24-48 hours. They assigned Case #XXXXXX and RMA# XXXXXX.

On 29-Nov-2004 spoke to a nice person(name witheld) who was pleasant and polite. I told her that the good news was that I just received the replacement keyboard, the bad news is that it is the wrong one. It is a "Media" model which is a lower model than the "Elite" that I purchased. I pointed out that this model is missing 2 key features, the thumb wheel on the left and the volume dial on the top; the 2 main reasons for which I bought the Elite model.

She put me on hold and when she came back, she proceeded to try to convince me that the model they sent me was an "upgrade" from the "Elite". I explained to her that her assertion was incorrect and the "Media" model was clearly an inferior model. I pointed out that on Newegg.com, the "Media" sells for $18 while the "Elite" sells for $29. I again pointed out that this model is missing 2 key features, the thumb wheel on the left and the volume dial on the top; the 2 main reasons for which I bought the Elite model.

She put me on hold several times during the call which, by the way, lasted for 55 minutes. Each time she came back she continued to try to sell the idea that I was getting an upgrade. I was patient for the first 50 minutes of this but I'm not a saint and finally stopped her. I told her that I was an Engineer, a very technical and computer savvy person and that no one, any where would consider what they did an upgrade. I told her that I didn't appreciate being treated this way. And requested to speak to a supervisor.

At that point, she admitted that the "Media" model was missing features and that she understood my concerns. She then said that they had no more "Elite" models and that's why they sent the "Media" model. I suggested they get one from one of their vendors like Newegg.com; she said I WOULD HAVE TO BUY IT FROM THEM DIRECTLY and they had no way of compensating me for that. She then said that the "Elites" were no longer being manufactured. What should I believe here????

So in the end, they did not comply with the terms of their own warranty. When I pointed that out, she said that they did by sending me the inferior keyboard.

How ridiculous is this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was appalled! If it didn't happed to me, I would have doubted that it really happened. Finally, I asked if she was going to comply with my earlier request to speak to a supervisor. She said yes and went on hold yet again...she came back and we waited for another 5 or so minutes for the supervisor (Todd) who never answered. She then asked if she could have him call me back in a few minutes and confirmed my phone number.

What nonsense! I have never seen a company tell such bold falsehoods to avoid fulfilling its warranty commitments, especially considering that this was all for a lousy $30 product. Wouldn't it have been easier to just make the customer happy and handle this? They won the battle, but I'll win the war by never buying another Logitech product again and I urge all of you who read this sad tale to also avoid buying from them.

The supervisor NEVER CALLED. Run, don't walk away from these guys.
