"Elixir Strings", These are the best strings available, a great sound and sound. I'd recommend them to anyone.

"Great, but G string doesn't last", I've played with elixir strings since they first came out. I love the sound and the fact that they stay new for a long, long time. But it seems like about a year ago my g string started breaking way too early. I usually leave the strings on for about 3 months, but the g string has started breaking after about 1 month, or sometimes earlier depending on how much I play my acoustic. It breaks at the saddle and I make sure there are no burrs and that it's set up right, but it keeps breaking. I've talked to several other players in the area that have stopped using elixir for the same reason. If Elixir will get this fixed, I'll come back, but until then, I go with D'Addario DXR.

"Great sound, great response.", Great sounding strings, but I don't suggest you get these if you play hard. My friend used my guitar for a show and asked what kind of strings I use. He said they were going to break. Elixir always breaks on him because he plays hard. Sure enough they broke. I play more lead type stuff and like to work the dynamics on the string/strum level as opposed to the amp/pedal level so the responsiveness of these strings are great for me.

I have one older guitar that has a muted sound with other strings I've tried. These strings bring out a better sound.


"Worth every penny", These strings are pretty amazing. I had gone many years without changing the strings on my guitar (they just held really well, and sounded great the whole time), but then a month or so ago I broke my G string (har har). I knew where I stood with electric guitar strings (which I break all the time), but I had never really had a reason to look into acoustic strings. I went to my friend, George, who is a local celebrity in the music scene, done a lot of recording, recorded two CD's which have sold very well for him, and who owns more and knows more about guitars than anyone I know, and he recommended these without missing a beat. I was annoyed by the price, but they have not disappointed in any respect. These strings are really easy on the fingers - very smooth and light. They are a little bright for my taste, but I think they'll warm up a bit as I break them in, and it might just be my guitar itself (which leans towards a lighter sound). I would recommend them to anyone who's not afraid to invest a little bit more in their strings. The cost has definitely been worth it, in my opinion.

"brings an old guitar to life", Amazing product! I replaced my strings (which were at least 2 years old, Martin strings) with these and I was blown away. It made a world of difference. Even though my guitar is entry level, having these strings make it sound amazing! Now maybe, it was because my strings were so old that the difference felt so dramatic, but I still think the Elixirs tend to ring louder and better than a lot of other strings. The nano coating can feel weird and a little slippery at first, but you'll get used to it.

If you have an entry level guitar, these will make your guitar sound so much better.

If you have a high end guitar, then you know you need the best.

"Impressed!", I got these because of the great reviews, and am glad I did. The timbre on these is something I haven't heard before from my guitar, having been a Martin string fan for ages. It's a very different tonal quality, and definitely worth trying out. Very full rich sound, not as warm as other strings. I'm going to stick with them!

"Great strings!", I typically go through a set of wound bronze strings in about 2 weeks of normal play. My sweat seems to be conducive to rust and buildup. But the Elixirs can last for months and still hold onto their sustain with no rusting. It's worth a few extra dollars for someone who hates replacing strings with much frequency!

"Elixir strings ROCK!!!", Arrived fast, and of course in great condition. Couldn't be happier! If you need strings in an APO, get em on Amazon, Hooah?

"Elixer is Bliss", These strings are very bright and sound great with my acoustic guitar. I've been looking for a good sound without the heavy string tension and this is it. Stands up to what a lot of the reviews say. Wouldn't say it is completely impenetrable from rust though... I plan to record an album with these strings!
