"Disappointed and frustrated", I have had nothing but bad luck, when it comes to CD players. Over the past year or so, I have purchased at least three portable CD/cassette players, and the CD player always stops working after a few short months. So, I decided to look for a well reviewed player, and buy online. The Emerson got very good reviews, and the price was right. It did well until last week. I would put a CD in and it would spin up, but not play. After a few minutes I would try again, and then it would work. Yesterday, I had the same problem again, and this time I used a lens cleaner CD, and it started working again. I have a feeling, it's going to continue to work half the time, which is quite frustrating. I would like to return it, but I threw away the box it came in and don't know if Amazon will take it back in that condition.

"Surprisingly nice for the price! ", This little unit is surprisingly nice! I bought it based on others' reviews and it is small (I keep it in my kitchen) and the sound quality is actually pretty good. I can hear it thoughout my house with no problem. I agree that the "tuning" of the radio stations is kind of a pain, but i really only use it for cd's and listening to the Cubs' games. I would buy it again!

"Great office radio and CD", I love to have music playing in the office, but as a one woman office for a condo I needed something I could put away on the weekend. I love my little Emerson. "Emerson Cd player", What can I say....you pay $30 and you get a $30 machine. This was for background music for gatherings at places with no music and worked just fine. The fidelity is only fair, it is monoaural, but it does the job.


"Great for me & grandmas too", I have bought three of these little compact CD player.
One went to my 86 yr old blind mother who can feel the raised buttons and is easy for her use for her books on CD. Because this player is so easy to operate for the non tech person I also gave one to my 80 yr old mother-in-law. I kept one for myself, w/batteries I can carry the small player all around the house. Has great sound and worth the value!

"Pleased in Maryland!", I purchased this Emerson CD player 3 years ago and it is still going strong. I play it quite a lot. It has a nice sound and the "Skip" feature that allows you to skip the songs you don't want to hear is nice. I would buy it again if something went wrong with this one.

"Portable CD Player", I bought this to use in my classroom, and it functions beautifully. It is very user-friendly and sounds great for the price.

"Only lasted 18 months", I had this model and it only lasted 12-18 months. However my daughter has had one for 3 years and it's still working.

"Satisfactory Enough", It meets the requirements- almost as inexpensive as an alarm clock, compact enough to lock up when not in use, and decent enough sound as the music cannot be too loud for the intended workspace.

"You get what you pay for", You get what you pay for. This was an inexpensive item that fills the bill. It does exactly what I wanted it for and does it well. I don't know what the long term performance is going to be, but I believe it will serve me well for what it was intended for a long time. It seems like a solid piece of equipment. I have had Emerson stuff before with no complaints and I do not suspect I will have any with this unit either.
