"Awesome Game!"
Love the game. Had it for XBOX, wanted to get it for PC so I could download cool mods. Awesome Game!

"KOTR 2"
KOTR 2 had a lot of stuff i disliked. it was ok 3 star fun rating 4 star perfromence rating.

DISLIKES

1. The big thing i didn't like in KOTOR 2 was the massive amounts of enemys. Such as in onderon there was at least 12 bounty hunters plus the leader. The tons of enemys throughout the game were hard to beat when you started off. but when you got strong enough, sure it was fun to watch your sith or jedi cut down like 20 sith troopers, but eventually it just became a nunsience. Everytime you'd see them up ahead you'd have to sigh. Onderon was filled with this both the first and second visit.

2. The second thing is the party related stuff. Such as Onderon when you have to choose three party members to attack The Temple and then send the rest to Iziz. Now they only give you 2 companions that have Jedi Ablities (Kreia and Visas). It doesn't allow you to take kreia and everyone beside the handmaiden can't hold their own with a viroblade. Also you need Bao-dur to disarm the sith defenses and Madalore to keep everyone alive, so left me to choose visas as my last party member. It was hard enough to get into the sith tomb but when you reach the center. Theres 4 sith armed with lightsabers. Now Bao-dur gets cutdown in a second and Madalore dies after repeated shots. That leaves visas all alone against, maybe 3 sith barely weakened. The way i actually beat this was running around the tomb until my force came back and shocking the sith till death. Ulitimetly your party members are nothing compared to anyone that has a lightsaber or force powers.

3. The third and final thing that made the game bad was the horrible storyline, graphics, and Planets. First of all the games extremly easy to figuire out but they put a tutorial. while it is optional its a waste of loading time which is like gold in this game. Peragus was horrible. Having to run around and fight droids that can't take one shock or viroblade slash was horrible. Kreia and Attons horrible role in this might have something to do with it. When you finally get a three person party to have to fight off invisable sith assains who are extremly annoying. but the story doesn't get any better throughout the game. Picking up party members is like adding a dead body to your body count. You see once you have a set party they should be who you keep because everyone else dies too fast. The graphics made the ebonhawk and peragus an overall annoying experience. The thing that really made me mad was throughout the game you would be taunted by finding out what happened to reven like bastilas holocron and the cave temple. I thought that maybe Revan could be the key to the entire once you disposed of the sith lords but it was like they'd put it in your head and then be like nah we were just kdding. I know this would be hard to pull off but it would be worth it.

Now the game overall is an ok sequel. However you have to find some way to keep yourself entertained fighting hoardes of annoying enmeys and horrible storylines. However the game should be bought if you played and beat the first one. What i am hoping is that they'll make a thrid one that dips more into the after story such as you get to lead the sith or get another mission like going into the unknown. You know if you were evil in the first and second ones you were disappointed when you weren't able to go back and fight the jedi masters and conquer planets. I think the game should have that crucial descion at the end but that descion should lock your faction in good or evil and then you would have to go on another quest in which if your evil maybe reclaim the star forge and use its power on the plants you've allready traveled and fighting jedi on the way and former party members that left when you made the descion. The same thing for good execept you would have to track down the remaining sith and work you way up to becoming the ulitamate jedi master.

"4 out of 5 stars because if they had put some thought into it, this game would have won an award like the first one."
I REALLY like the game, but the first one was much better written. Some of the storyline was a little disapointing, it seems like they were in too much of a hurry to get the game out than to think it out and finish the storyline, but still lots of fun - wether you're light - OR - dark side.

"Classic"
I lost one of the discs to this game and then got an itch to play it again... so I purchased another copy. yes it's that good (Classic)

"Very fun game for Jedi Fans!"
I agree with most of the reviews in that this games does have a few bugs. I personally don't mind because it doesn't affect my gameplay that much. There are a few patches out there but I haven't downloaded them yet.
Anyway...This is ONE FUN GAME. True it's not that heavy on plot, but it IS a lot of fun to rip through enemies with the most powerful weapon in the galaxy! And like KOTOR 1, you get to upgrade your lightsaber with different (i.e. more powerful) crystals, AND other components (like different lenses, emitters, and power cells, unlike KOTOR 1 where you could only add 2 crystals at a time and nothing else).

One reviewer was dissapointed that he didn't start out with a lightsaber right away and shelved the game. If he had continued, he would know that his character is a Jedi outcast and the lightsaber was taken from him/her by the Jedi Counsel-but fear not, it short order he/she will construct a NEW lightsaber, and a deadlier one than before to be sure!

I won't go through the details, but if you're a Jedi-wannabe at heart, THIS is the game for you. MUCH better than Jedi Academy or Jedi Outcast. You choose if you want you chracter to be male or female, and then a Jedi sentinel, consular, or gaudian (each class has pros and cons, i.e. consular is more focused on the force and acquires force powers more rapidly, and guardians are more combat focused and acquire combat feats more rapidly). The sentinel is kind of in the middle.
And then as you're playing the game, your actions and the way to treat others determines if you're heading down the path of the dark side or the light side. And one of the cool features in this game is that your actions will influence you companions, and they will begin to take on your traits as well. And, your character's alignment later determines if you move on to higher Jedi or Sith classes, like Jedi Master, Watchman, or Weaponmaster, or Sith Lord, Marauder, or Assassin. Each class has it's own pros and cons as far as force abilities and combat abilities. AND, your character's gender determines WHO joins your group. If you're a man, you'll get a certain (rather attractive) female Jedi apprentice (although she's not really a Jedi until your influence with her is high enough and you train her). If you're a female character, you get a certain (kinda dorky) man to join your group who can become a Jedi with your training as well. AND further still, your alignemnt will also determine if one particularly spunky rogue-esque chracter to join (who can become a Jedi), and if you're dark sided, you will get an evil wookie to join your party at one point (you can't train him to be a Jedi, but he kicks butt anyway).

Why do I tell you all of this? Because depending on how you play and set you chracter up, you have the potential to play several different versions of this game. The plot and ending are still the same, but it's a little different each time in this respect.

Bottom line, the game's not perfect, but it's VERY fun. Try to find it used and pay 15 bucks or so for it...it's well worth it! I just can't wait for KOTOR 3 to be announced!!!!!

What our customer's say!

"Lots of fun, not lots of SW", This game is incredibly fun. It does everything the first did, but better and deeper. New everything, conversations are as great as ever. Story is debatably a tad worse, but that is definitely a matter of opinion not a matter of fact.

The place where it stumbles, however, is in its faithfulness to the lore. It gives it a brief friendly hug, but it doesn't embrace it the way it should. There are many parts that will leave you going "wtf?" and scrambling to try and find logic there. I'll give you a hint - it isn't there. This game has already been decanonized, thank God, so don't worry; you're not wrong, the game is. Again, however, it is a lot of fun, just don't take the lore aspect to seriously.

"Deep, Interesting, Fun Game", The biggest thing I did not like about this game was trying to play it the second time through. Much of what I did was an exact repeat of before, just because the plot must advance the way it does. It just seems like, with such a complex game, they could have made more variety in it. But that's not a big drawback - certainly the first KOTOR did not have nearly as much variety as this one. The second biggest thing was that there weren't as many puzzles as in the first KOTOR - but I'm a math major and I like puzzles, so not everyone would probably find this a bad thing.

But the game is AMAZING overall! The puzzles are replaced by deep thought-provoking questions: what is good? What is bad? Ultimately, many good deeds or deeds that were done with good intentions, lead to bad things in the long run. And the logic is amazingly twisted (no spoilers): not only does one think that the Jedi ultimately did a bad thing for the Empire by attacking the Mandalorians because then the Sith invasion came, but also the Jedi who sat by and did nothing did a bad thing ultimately. So really, the right thing to do was uncertain, and it seems only those with the clearest vision can make the right choices: Revan. Thus one of the biggest points of the game was to make the player think grander thoughts: not to move the small pieces randomly, but to have a grand plan always and do small things, whether good or bad, in order to accomplish one's bigger plan. Doing small bad things can lead to greater good in the future and vice versa.

But other than the deep philosophical stuff, there is lots of great action, great new powers that are really fun to use, many fun missions, and especially an extremely well-done last mission where the graphics are just awesome. There are lots of places to choose light or dark, and sometimes when you think something will be a good choice it is not really, and vice versa. I personally thought it was harder to just choose a side (light or dark) and stick by it. I think this game is more complex in almost every way, but it is also more fun in most ways. Definitely a worthy sequel!

"Great RPG even if you're not a big RPG fan", I've never been a big fan of RPG games before but since I was looking for something completely different, I figured this would work. Took a chance and it paid off. I didn't give it 5 stars because the graphics aren't that good and it's got some hard things that you need to do. If you're a first time playing this type of game it might be hard for you (as it is for me).

I rather enjoy the game, it's a bit more challanging for me since I don't normally play RPG games so I'm sure others whom have played them for years would have no problem playing this game. I never played the first one so I wouldn't know about how this one is really different. If you like Sims 2, I think you'll like this game because that's all I used to play before this one.

"A decent sequel", Not quite as good as the first KOTOR, but still worth buying especially at this price.

The game was ported directly from the xbox like the first game but where as the first one was tweaked to take advantage of the PC, this one is pretty much ported directly over with no changes made. Because of this there are some glitches (especially if your using Vista, I had to replace my Mss32.dll file to get the game to load. And I had some issues with the video cutting out during cut scenes, had to turn the monitor off and on again to get the video back)

As for the game itself, the story line is not as strong as the first KOTOR and there are some pretty big holes in it also. Game play and Combat is pretty much identical to the first game so you'll feel right at home if you have played the first KOTOR already.

"almost perfect if only there wasent content cut", This is by far the best rpg game I have ever played in my life after playing kotor oblivion and mass effect kotor 2 is still the best if content was not cut from the game it would be perfect also a lack of romance or love in the story but never the less the game is very good i will have to see if the resteration mod for this game acuacly makes it complete but still even if it disapointes the game rocks sadly to not to many good rpgs are made nowadays but people will forget about this game because to many peole put it down but that is a discusion for aanother time any way best game ever

"jedi with no lightsaber, i uninstalled it.", Kotor 1's biggest mistake was not giving you a lightsaber until the second area... kotor2 picks up where kotor1 leaves off, by not giving you a lightsaber in the second area either. So i quickly deleted it and haven't ever returned to it. 50 dollars wasted.

I'm sure it would be a lovely game if i had the patience to drudge through until i got a lightsaber.

i recommend you get nwn or nwn2 if you want to fight with swords, much better d20 RPG with sword play.

"Great value for the price", If you enjoy RPG-type games and "Star Wars," then you will like this game. While not as strong plot-wise as the first game in the series, it's still a better Star Wars movie than any of the prequels. Gameplay is as you'd expect from the first game, with some changes that aren't distracting.

Yes, this game is flawed. Chunks of it don't make any sense, and it is clear that for whatever reason the developer shoveled it out the door before it was done. Compare the enormous Nar Shadaa level with the paltry Korriban level. And there are some jarring jumps and loose ends that leave you scratching your head. Combat is too easy at times, and there is a lot of rat-killing in various levels where you have to defeat numerous local beasts.

Despite its faults, however, this is a fun game. For under $[...], you can't go wrong with this game. Buy and enjoy.

"Not perfect, but still worth it", You may have heard that this game is full of bugs and plot holes. And yes, to a certain extent that is true. It is also an involving game with great characters who are intelligent enough to notice what you're doing (with the influence system, characters will hold it against you if you insult them, like you more if you kill someone they think doesn't deserve to live, etc.).
You will need to save a lot of games to guard against crashes, but unless it is even more buggy than usual on your computer, the story and gameplay will distract you from it.

"GREAT game... (what wan't cut out)", This game is a great game, but at least 25% (including one ENTIRE planet) of it was cut because of time delays. If you've played KOTOR 1 this is a MUST. It has fine graphics and GREAT (even better than KOTOR 1) gameplay. The plot is much darker and more mysterious than KOTOR 1, but is no cause for celebration. [...]

"Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2", This game is awesome! It has a great story line and the game play was great. I would recommend this game to anyone that is into RPG games and definitely if you are a Star Wars fan.
