"Slipping & Smelling"
I got DDR Max along with 2 of these mats for PS2 around xmas time. I play DDR almost every day, & you can read more about that in my DDR Max review.
Anyway, I am finding trouble with one of my mats. While I am setting up in Game Mode, it sems to select something before I can change it-while I'm standing in the center. To fix this, I stand to the left of the mat while I am setting it up. However, that will not work while I am playing. I think that the sensors that you step on have somehow slipped inside the mats, and the X (select) sensor has been moved near the yellow center. I cannot think of any easy way to fix this.
Plus, I have to keep mine in the boxes all the time. Does everybody have to do that? It's nothing about what I'm aloud & not aloud to do, but when I leave the mats out, it stinks up the house! It's a very strong smell, but I cant seem to find a way to air out the mats.
Don't get me wrong, these mats are excellent and work well for the majority of the time. Just watch out with Slipping & Smelling if you purchase them.

if i were you i wouldnt buy this but do buy the newer one! this one isnt that good beacause the underside is not sticky and beacause of that the mat moves around alot and you have to put it back in its place. so i suggest if you want to tape this thing to your floor with heavy duck tape then this is 4 u

My friend had a party and we played DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) Extreme. It was so much fun I wanted one for my birthday. My parents bought it for me and they gave me two of these mats so I could play with my friends. After a couple of weeks, I noticed the back arrow wasn't working properly. I had to either hit it very soft or very hard. Now the back arrow doesn't even work at all so I have to stick with one mat and not play against people. I would suggest not buying this gift with the risk that one of the arrows won't work.

"Great Pad!!!!"
I think this product deserves a great review! I doesn't slide or anything, even on carpet! It's very duriable and hooks up great with DDR Max 2. I recomend this pad over all pads, esspesialy the Gamestop pad. Thank you for reading my reveiw.

"Iffy Over Extended Play"
Bought this about a week ago, very good control response and little slippage over the first few runs, even on carpet. However, as I hover at about 190 pounds (perhaps 100 pound teenage girls don't have this problem), I found that the cushion tiles inside the mat tend to become disconnected or separate from each other after several songs. This results in a variety of faults, from game reset to false control hits. The workaround is to stop, unzip the mat, reposition and reconnect the cushion tiles and reclose the mat. You are then good for a few more songs.

At best this is an annoyance. I'm wondering if perhaps a little duct tape is the answer, or if I should return the mat as defective. I may try the latter first and upgrade to the next better mat, just to see if something a little more robust might help.
