"Connect your turntable to your computer to record audio files", I bought this to record LP's to my computer for conversion to MP3's. It works great. Plug your turntable into the pre-amp and the pre-amp into the back of your sound card. Don't forget to ground the turntable to the metal chassis of your computer or you will hear a 60 HZ hum in everything.

Record and convert to MP3's using the free Audacity 1.35 recorder and LAME MP3 converter and you have a better combination than the $60.00 boxes that come with a neutered version of Nero, and it's much cheaper than buying a new USB Turntable.


"It gets the job done", Like I said It gets the job done. It amplifies the sound but there is a lot of humming and noise that it makes in the process. Its not the stereo, its brand new, but it could be the record player. I don't think so because it worked on the phono input of my old stereo.

Like I said it works but I might invest in something a little nicer to crank up the old Whitesnake vinyl with.

For very short money, I can easily use my turntable with my new receiver without phono input.

"Works Great!!!", This product works GREAT. I've had no problems at all. Seller was quick with shipping. Product works as I expected. I use this product on a daily basis and I am not disappointed in the least.

"Good, but obviously not the best", Works quite well, be sure to ground the record player to the side of the box at one of the screws. A little grainy at high sounds but great piece of equipment to get my record player working again.

"Pyle pro pp-999", The Pyle Pro PP-999 was worthless on arrival. When I plugged it into the turntable all that came out was Garble. I wrote to the manufacturer and did not recieve a response. Waste of money!

"Does the job -- lacks "ground" connection", I've purchased pre-amps before, so I should have known to look for the one feature this product is missing: a grounding terminal! Since most turntables plug into the wall with a 2-prong plug, there's also a ground strap which usually plugs into the mixer, amplifier or pre-amp. The model has no ground strap, so I'm nervous that I may start to hear some buzzing in the system. I'll just have to cross my fingers...

"A little lifesaver", I recently had to buy a new receiver for my bedroom stereo.I bought a Sherwood from a local electronics emporium mainly because it was inexpensive(100 watts for a little over $100).Only problem was there was no Tape Monitor jacks or switch for my outboard equalizer.I had to find a way to pump up the tones(my speakers are small) so I looked for a Preamp for my turntable.Thanks to AMAZON this Pyle unit was offered(I am familiar with the brand as I had 12" Pyle Drivers in my old Peavey Mace back in the '80's).I run it through the line II jacks and it sounds fine except I need to turn up the volume about a quarter turn to match CD volume.Otherwise everythings cool.Vinyl Forever,Amen.

"works just fine", This preamp works great for the money. I have had no problems with it and it boosts the sound plenty so i can listen to all my records. The only thing i could ask for would be an on/off switch. Other then that this is a nice little addition to any set up.

"Inexpensive phono pre-amp is satisfactory", This pre-amp is attached to a professional (DJ) turntable and feeds a good amp and speakers. To my inexpert ear, the sound produced is as good as that from my other system, which has a phono pre-amp costing five times as much.
