"get dazzle DVD creator, don't go for this bargan crap", It doesn't work on vista, the video quality is horrible! sound is fine though.

AVOID AS IF IT WAS THE PLAQUE!!

"You get what you pay for.", The hardware did a sufficient job transferring a recording from an old Panasonic SVHS camcorder to digital format. I encountered sound issues, but solved it by selecting the correct sound recording frequency in the software. Both sound and video quality were good, but far from perfect.

"Kworld USB Video Capture", I used this device to copy my VHS collection to my hard drive so I could watch my video collection from the computer with the video ported to a TV. The installation and included software worked well, video image was good, but not great. The quality of the original VHS tapes was better, but I found the resulting MPEG2 files fully acceptable to watch. The capture went well for 118 movies (still have another 60 or so to do), then a very loud back ground noise of static was introduced into the files and is a constant input into the computer speakers even if I'm not recording. I've swapped out the VCR with another, recorded other tapes but the static only stops when I unplug this USB device. I've tried moving it around to see if the static lessened, but it never changes loudness or sound where ever it is. It appears this device has 'fried' its audio output.


"DVD Maker", I tried two different video capture devices and this one was much better and easier to hook up and use.
Good software, too, Did everything I wanted to without a hitch.

"Great Product", I bought this product based on the existing reviews. They are right on. It is easy to use and works great.

"Maybe I am just dumb", I could not get this thing working. I am generally a technical person, working in the tech industry, but it is not working for me. Perhaps it is defective, there is a problem with my computer, or I am just plain dumb. In any case, it is not working for me and the documentation is no help at all.

"Evidently not for Vista", "Product details indicate "Minimum system requirements: Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP." Evidently, even though this indicates "minimum" the device doesn't work properly on Vista.

It installs and captures video well but no audio was captured. After contacting the vendor I was told that it was not compatible with Vista.

I returned the item to Amazon who accepted it graciously and returned my total payment. I then purchased the One-Touch Video Capture device (Diamond Multimedia) from Amazon. It was about $10 cheaper and works great with Vista.

"usb2800 dvd maker", I found this product and software it came with to be superior to any other I have tryed, it is a great product, and I would rate it to all as 5 star.

"Good pick-up", Works well - easy to use. We are only making family movies - sharing some on you-tube, so not trying to do anything professional, so can't speak to that. BUT for our purposes, it is perfect.

"works great", Product does exactly what it is supposed to do: capture video (in my case from old VHS tapes) in digital format and then burn to DVD. The instructions are practically non-existent, but the device and software are fairly intuitive. When you plug in the audio jack, you'll need to tell Windows to treat it as a microphone and then set the software accordingly (a prior reviewer recommended using "line in", but that did not work for me). Don't pay any attention to the button or green light on the device - just plug it in, open the "Producer" software, click a few settings, click on "Capture", start the VCR, and click on record. There's not much more to it than that, but if you want to do some editing, add menus, chapters, you'll need to play around a bit to figure it out as there are no instructions. This device works great, unlike the ADS DVD Express I tried previously, which didn't work at all. I'm using a Dell Inspiron laptop with only a 30G hard drive, 1G RAM, clock speed 1.66 - so you don't need a top of the line computer to make this work. I'm capturing to an external 500G hard drive.
