"Great fun, don't lose out if you love retro games!", I'll get this out of the way. Yes Nintendo is lazy. Yes, they should have ported the real DK. Yes, the previous GB version is techinically a superior game. Now that that's out the way, you should still buy this. The previous version made for the original gameboy isn't in color and the graphics were updated to reflect the new DK games. This on the other hand is what we all fondly remember DK to be. I'm a huge retro gamer and am sorry I didn't add this to my collection sooner. If you are you'll want this too. Missing level or not it's classic DK and it's great being able to play it on the go.

"Ok Game", Good game that really resembles the original arcade classic. Get's boring fast though.

"Donkey Kong classic", This game is just like the SNES game. The only drawback is the small screen on GBA or DS. I was used to the TV with my old SNES. For kids, it is great and easy enough to figure out yet challenging enough to keep them entertained for a while. For me, a grandma, it was a little challenging to recall the controls and what I had to do to complete a level. It is a great way to regain a part of my younger days.

"Why No Donkey Kong Classics For GBA?", As much fun as this game was on the NES and now on the GBA (though compared to the original arcade version it still lacks the "pie factory/conveyor belt" screen), one could only wonder why this game couldn't have been sold as Donkey Kong Classics for the GBA, giving GBA owners the added fun of playing Donkey Kong Junior (a great arcade game that lost little in being translated for the NES) without messing around with eReader cards. It would have been worth the $20 paid for this game alone.

"pretty good", I never had the chance to enjoy donkey kong in any form considering i don't have animal crossing, a nes, and i wasn't born in the 70s. But for all you people putting this game down 'caus it's missing a level, it says NES CLASSIC SERIES, not arcade classic series! The nes game was missing this level too. This is still pretty fun game for classic mario fans.

"If you want to play NES games, use an NES.", This game is not bad. The E-reader version was much more affordable, though.
20 dollars? For 3 one-screen levels? I didn't think so.
If you still want this game, get the old black-and-white game Donkey Kong for the original Game Boy. It has all the levels from this, plus about 100 more. Fun.

"DK64 has the entire game with the pie level", Why should you go out and use your money on this when the Donkey Kong 64 video game already has the arcade version? The Pie Factory level isn't in the game, but you can play it whenever you want (Without using 25 cents to play it on an arcade) with the missing level if you get DK64.

The only cost is to make it to the Frantic Factory level and unlock Donkey's Gorilla Grab. Then you can play it with all four levels for free!

Both games cost about the same, but DK64 gives you the whole game with a gigantic Banjo-Kazooie-like adventure for the same cost. Plus, beating Donkey Kong in DK64 unlocks a very important item in the game (Nintendo Coin).

I don't know why Nintendo even made this game, but it would've made more sense to just use Donkey Kong Jr. instead.

"Too Short", This is a good game, but it only has 3 levels that are easy. There are very few enemies, and mario is very slow and can't jump high. I wouldn't recommend you waste your money on this, because it gets boring really fast.

"Excellent game but why no Donkey Kong Jr.?", I really like this game but I won't be buying it simply because it has a level missing and doesn't even have Donkey Kong Jr. which is the superior game. If they could release both on one NES cart back in the '80's, why can't they at least do it with the GBA in the year 2004???? Nintendo, I'm a big fan of yours but C'mon.

"Okay, but 1994 version is better", This review is based upon what fellow reviewers said about this game and the 1994 version.

I originally was planning to buy this NES classic and sell the other version, but after i heard that it only had 3 levels, and that there was a level that was cut from this version, i abandoned the idea and kept the 1994 version. Sure this maybe a NES classic but the 1994 version of Donkey Kong is better. The game in that version is longer and better than the NES classic. What was the point of Nintnendo releasing this game again when it really isn't as great as they claim it to be. I agree with the other reviewers about this game not worth $20. However if you want the game and r a die hard fan of Mario than buy it. But i do suggest to fellow gamers who want Donkey Kong to buy a used version of the 1994 version of Donkey Kong. It's better than this version.
