"Great vacuum, affordable price"
We had a Dyson vac which worked great ... until it broke. Getting it fixed would've cost a lot just in shipping. You see, there really are no repair shops in the States for Dyson. So, we threw our $300+ vacuum away after about a year's use. We bought the Bissell a few months ago. Having just bought a new wool rug that sheds like crazy (easily fills the dirt receptacle twice every time I vacuum). Also, we have a 2 yr old, three dogs (2 boxers, one mix breed puppy) and a cat, so we vac A LOT.

The Bissell is excellent - great suction, multiple tools on-board and a nice detachable section (we don't have stairs, but if we did this would make cleaning them a breeze). You can turn off the rotating brush, which is great for tile. It's got a HEPA filter (I mentioned our animals, right?) which makes me feel like our air's maybe a bit better than it would be. Very happy overall (the bagless system is great, but lost a star as the receptacle could be a little bigger).

I highly recommend this puppy! I grew up (5 decades)with Bissell, I have
yet to be disappointed with any of the products.

4 stars is they really make it difficult to find the filters you are going to need..Amazon too, adds to the confusion.

"Hey, it's a filter!", I love my Bissell vacuum, which uses this filter. Since you can't really see the tiny particles that HEPA filters remove from the air, it's rather impossible to tell if it actually works. But, hey, it's a filter! It's better than nothing but beyond that... I can think of more important things to worry about.

If your vacuum uses this filter, you should probably just buy it and move on. :)

"very pleased ", I am so glad I bought this vaccum, it has great suction power so it cleans down deep and gets the powdered dirt. I have two dogs, and when it rains and muddy outside dirt gets brought in.


"Bissel 'lift-of' hepa filter", We like the concept of the Bissel 'lift-off' as it is very portable and compact. The vacuum cleans well and has good suction. Our problem is dirt holding capacity and the cleanable filter arrangment. If not closly monitored debris will over flow the small debris cup quickly accumulate around the upper foam filter. The unit then requires disassembly and cleaning of the upper filter assembly. The 'hepa' filter I just purchased needs to be replaced regularly and is rather expensive as an expendable item. Not replacing this filter will cause poor performance and overheating of the motor. This would be a great vacuum for a single person without pets, I am neither.
