"Avengers- Issues 1-10...", Who would get this today when they could get 40 years of the Avengers on a single disc instead?

Two kinds of people, really:
1. People mainly interested in Lee & Kirby Avengers (issues 1-8). And/or...
2. People on a very tight budget.

This is currently an exceedingly inexpensive way to see how the Avengers really began- the list price for mine was $4.99. Lee & Kirby continually amaze me with what they were able to accomplish. Here we get introduced to Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man, Wasp, Hulk, and Captain America; the beginnings of Marvel's mainstream heroes. The issues are basically taken from the Marvel Masterworks reprints, so they're very high-quality images with absolutely no sign of aging. Of course the art style represents sixties pop-culture, but the images themselves are clean & bright.

To view the contents of this CD, you'll need any Windows version between 98/ME/2000/XP (not 95!), or Mac OS X. The images are viewed through Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator with the aid of special software on this disc (called DjVu). These entire issues of the Avengers (minus adds) were intended to be viewed by popping this software CD into your computer each time, but you could just as easily copy the CDs contents onto your hard drive, eliminating the need for the CD thereafter. It's worth noting that 40 years of Avengers, in contrast, changes the viewing method to Adobe Acrobat Reader 6 & up. I guess Gitcorp, the maker of both CDs, decided Acrobat was a better method of viewing than using Internet browser software. And they may change the viewing method again in future editions.

If you're interested in getting this CD, I highly recommend buying it pretty soon. Supplies seem limited, and since they're so inexpensive at this time, it seems like a complete & total bargain to me!
