"One of the Best Yu-gi-oh Dueling Games"
The Power of Chaos trilogy is great. The details on each card are just superb. You can collect over 700 cards in Joey the Passion including the cards in the earler games. In this game you can use the battle LAN method to play via internet. Another great thing about this game is that Joey occasionally changes his deck structure completely and is obviously harder than Yugi or Kaiba. If you are looking for a dueling challenge, this game is the one.

"A great way to learn how to play the card game"
Like a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh fans, my son enjoyed collecting the trading cards but didn't really know how to play the card game. He and I would PRETEND to play it, but we weren't really following the rules (which are fairly complicated). But this software changed that -- he can now play the game properly and even win a fair amount of the time. (Me too!) You have to be willing to get beat several times at first, but persistence will pay off, and it eventually becomes pretty fun and addictive.

We don't own the "Yugi" or "Kaiba" versions of this game, but I'd guess that Joey is more fun to duel against. His trash-talking lines are kind of funny, even though they get old after repeated playings. And if you have 2 computers on your home network, you can have 2-player duels. (You don't have to own 2 copies of the game CD. Just start the game on one computer then take the disc out and then start it on the 2nd computer). We haven't tried the BattleLAN method of playing via Internet, but I'm going to check that out.

"good, but i need help"
joey the passion is a great game, it was tons of things to do and some good cards,

but i was wondering if anyone out there knew of a place that i can use the battle.LAN stuff i got from the other reviewer who talked about battle.LAN, i went to that site and it had nothing to do with yu-gi-oh, so does anyone know of a place i can battle over the internet, if so, IM me at: brandnewbuddy60, or leave an e-mail at: lbplayer60@yahoo.com, or leave a message here,

other wise i would say that any yu-gi-oh fan should buy this game, the only thing i didnt like was that some of the things joey says get really old, really fast, but other wise a good game

"You can play this game online."
The previous reviwer (cavie95) said you cant play this game online as its only LAN based. Whilte it's true that you cannot play online with the game straight out of the box, you can use a 3rd party tool called 'Battle'LAN' you can play this game online sucessully. This tool is designed just for this purpose, to bring LAN games to the net... this method has been used for a long time - which is why people are saying just saying its online. You can find Battle.LAN here : http://www.infoceptor.com/files/war3/battlelan.zip

To make it work you simply...

- Give each other you're IP addresses.
- Enter each others IP address into battlelan, click the 'ADD' button and then 'START'
- Launch into joey the passion, one selects to act as host & other joins..
- Have fun!

Onto the actual game, one boosts the total number of cards to 771 (it add's 350) - Providing you own the first two games (Yugi The Destiny and Kaib the revenge). This has a LOT more options than prevous PoC titles, forbidden card lists, power over the cards joey has access too (his own or all of them) and Joeys skill level increases the more you duel him - you can also redo the WON CARDS screen to get a new card, so you never have to duel for hours to get those elusive cards again. The AI is some of the best yet, he uses Quick-Play magic cards, acts a lot more 'human' than previous titles (and even GBA titles).

Highley Recommended to any Yu-Gi-Oh fan that wants to take the fight online.

This is the best POC game out, and probably the best dueling experience available on all the platforms. GBA titles move over - Yugioh is coming to the net!

What our customer's say!

"I love this game - except for "I won cuz you stink"", I love this game! I love it even more after trying Yugi the Destiny (I haven't been able to get hold of Kaiba). Joey the Passion is far superior, and greater value for money, for several reasons:

1: The starter deck is more fair. There are more Spell Cards, Traps and Effect monsters, so you have a better chance of winning when you start.

2: Joey has a Level-Up and he can advance with you. So he offers a better challenge and more educational for Duellists

3: Joey is more versatile and surprises you with different cards, strategies and combos

4: Joey can incorporate decks from Yugi and Kaiba (but not the other way around, apparently)

However, I do agree with one review which says Joey is too smart. In particular, his comment: "I won cuz you stink" could upset or offend. If that is the case, I advise you to respond: "So did you when you started out!" or "Kaiba thinks you stink, too!"

"cool and good-looking- what more can you want", From the mind of Kazuki Takahashi (creator of the YuGiOh series) and the gaming genius of Konami games comes the new game in the Power of Chaos series, Joey the Passion.

The good: You can access (I believe this is right) over 700 cards in this game and can customize your deck whenever needed. But beware: Joey will not only modify his deck to match your skill level (represented by stars) but can also use decks from other famous duelists, including Weebil Underwood, Marek's slave, and possessed Bakura (which, in my opinion, is a kick-ass deck). For those of you who like downing people with sarcastic phrases, Joey does that very well, too.

The bad: For those of you who like downing people with sarcastic phrases but don't like hearing them over and over again, too bad. Aside from turning down the volume (which, by the way, prevents you from hearing the superb in-game music), you can't shut Joey up.

This game is what the YuGi and Kaiba versions weren't- and much more. This is clearly the best version of the game, so save your money and buy this one- not the other two versions, which just leave you hanging and wanting more. From a lifelong YuGiOh fan to the rest of y'all just like me, adios and happy (simulated) dueling.

"Great game plus free cards!", I think this game is cool because you can play against many other duelists from the Television series and you can also get free cards as well. I am getting this game for Christmas and it's going to be cool. It's even a big improvement for Yugi the Destiny and Kaiba's revenge. So I hope you everyone enjoys this game.

"this rocks!@!!!!!!!!!", okay, lets get started. this game is for veteran players (i recommend) cuz joey is very cunning and tends to go for flashy moves, and uses brute strength too with a very nice combination of magic and trap cards. he also may be very annoyin sometimes. i liked this game cuz it was a grea t improvement over yugi the destiny ( which i have and think its too easy to beat) and kaiba the revenge ( which was too hard for beginers and had WAY too many complicated cards) i'm a pretty decent duellist myself too.

some combos to look out for: summoner of illusions effect: summon a fusion card on the field and at the end of the turn, destroy the fusion card. activates by sacrificin summoner of illusions. he really got me with that one. it's hard to counter and it's surprisin to see blue-eyes ultimate dragon attackin u.

"BIG improvement over Yugi the Destiny", So Konami did OK with Yugi, but left room for a lot of improvement. They did better with Kaiba, but still had some things to work out. Would the third time be the charm with Joey, and see them produce an excellent game?

The short answer: an emphatic YES. For starters, Joey has over 700 cards you can access, including all the ones from Yugi and Kaiba. You don't have to do anything to access cards already won on the two previous games, the program automatically gives them to you. Joey also contains a "level stars" system that allows you to track your skill level, and Joey alters his deck and his playing abilities to match yours. Even better, you can LOSE levels with losses, so there's always incentive to win enough times just to stay where you are! For fans of the cartoon series, Joey plays with a variety of decks as featured in various episodes: Escaroba's "Jinzo" deck, evil Bakura's "Spirit Board" deck, Weebil Underwood's "Insect Queen" deck, the "Revival Jam" deck used by the Marek slave that had "Slyther, the Sky Dragon" (though no Slyther is in it), etc. (I've not gotten to level 9--it's tough just trying to stay at level 8--so maybe Joey uses Marek's or Pegasus's decks at that level?) The game always remains a challenge, and with all the new cards, there's always something new to try for.

In addition, the graphics and music are great, and Joey's smart-aleck dialogue gets you into the action enough to where you want to put your fist through the screen to shut the little punk up. (Unfortunately, you still have no way of turning it off in case you want to save your monitor from such violence.) You also have the option of limiting Joey to just the cards in the "Joey" set, or allowing him access to all the cards available. You can block "forbidden" cards from being used or allow them into the game for more possible playing combinations. And you can import/export cards as you can in the other versions.

The only minor complaint I have (other than not being able to shut Joey up short of turning off the sound) is that you can sometimes win a special-tribute monster card before you win the necessary cards to summon it. I've won three "Red-Eyes Metal Dragon" cards...but STILL haven't won the "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" card needed to use it! Eh, well...There's plenty of other strong monsters to be more than a match for Joey. This is an excellent game.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Online play? Not really...", Don't be fooled with what you've read guys, this game only supports LAN play - direct connection of two pc's. This is NOT 'online' play. This is network play only. Make sure you understand the difference before you purchase this game, hoping you can play friends from around the world. You can't do it unless you use another reviewer's tip, which isn't exactly easy to do with people you've never met.

Hopefully if another POC game is released, it will come with a Blizzard-type Battlenet arena that Starcraft, Diablo, etc. use extensively. That takes the headache out of wanting to play someone that you don't share a LAN with!

Otherwise, great game. Joey is definitely harder to beat than Yugi or Kaiba, even if you have all the previous cards in hand.

"Cool Game", Well it is a nice game if you really like yugioh.Able to play in the internet was a great idea as everyone would like to play with their friends.I would recommend this game with the other yugioh games

"A Good YGO game", Joey the Passion is the 3rd installment in the Power of Chaos games. It has over 700 cards, including the cards in the previous games. Although you can only play against one person (Joey Wheeler), it is a very good game. One thing I don't get is this: why is Joey made the last person to go against? You'd think it would be Yugi as the last person, but oh well. In this game, you can play online against others. Also, if you play the actual TCG, the promos will be a bonus goodie, or at least the magic-arm shield trap card.

Overall, I would give it a 4/5 for internet playability, 700+ cards, okay promos. The only bad thing is that you only go against Joey, which isn't very bad, since he changes his deck when you do.

"great game", now that you can play this game head to head it will be great.
i have the one before this one and was fun but playing the computer gets old. now they need to make it where you take turns playing all the guys in the show instead of just one over and over. but now that you can play it on lan thats a vary big plus... :-)

by the way... this one is vary funny to play.
youll see!

"Previous reviewer was off his head.", (...) Joey The Passion is the 3rd installment in the PoC series on PC. This being the final one, and adding another 300 or so cards to the already expanding list of 466 or so. There will now be a total of 700+ cards to collect and use. This game will follow on in the previous tradition offering a one on one duel with a certain TV show character, this one being Joey Wheeler. The game follows the EXACT rules of the Yugioh CCG and the more duels you win the more cards you unlock.

The twist with this title is its LAN play, now you will be able to take your skills and newley built decks online and play against your best friend. You do not need the other two games to play this title but it is recommended to get access to the previous 446 cards.

The promo's are as follows...
