"""CLASSIC"" in the sense of your ex-wife."
Or my 1973 Chevy Vega...
which I replaced with a
1975 Pinto... then a AMC
Pacer... yeah! Classics
all... though the cars WERE
a little easier to SEE. Come to
think of the aluminum-block
in the Vega... the MOVIES do
SOUND better!

"A good instant collection of sci-fi films"
Altought the image isn't very good (All the movies are in fullscreen and some have a bad image), this collection worths if you want an instant collection of sci-fi films. The majority of titles are from 50's but there's also some good movies from 70's and even 90's. For 12 bucks it worths a lot!

"Best $13 I ever spent, period!!!"
I am a big fan of B-movies and this collection has some of the most notorious, and many, many other fun discoveries! I've had so much fun popping them in randomly after work, cracking a beer and having a bunch of laughs and adventures. The picture and sound are the exact same quality as you would get if you bought these films individually, so the value you get here is phenomenal. These are not Sci-fi classics on the order of "The Day the Earth Stood Still," my friends, these are classics of an entirely different order.

"even those who are into "MST 3000" material should avoid paying full price for this"
Not a lot here, folks. Some are okay, some are just bad. Real Film Buffs (tm) might get a kick out of seeing one-time big stars such as Claude Rains and Basil Rathbone at the nadirs of their respective careers; but really it's just a bore. At the other end of the career arc are folk such as Peter Lupus and Peter Graves, both of Mission Impossible. Only die-hard sci fans should even consider this collection, and even they ought to look for it on sale. Caution: no close captioning (apparently missing from the entire "50 Movie Pack" series).

"Just terrible"
Picture Quality is worst.
Most is bad, old, and infantile Movies, created with minimal budjet.

What our customer's say!

"No Robot Monster!", I bought this collection to simply get my hands on Robot Monster. I followed the reviews here at Amazon where many specified that it was actually in the collection. To my dismay - IT WAS NOT!

Perhaps they have changed the line up of films for some reason I cannot fathom but if you are like me and wanted this collection for Robot Monster. DO NOT BUY IT!

RIPPED OFF!

"Great Choice with Fantastic Value...", When I bought this collection...I fully understood that most of these films were "duds". As someone who thinks Ed Wood is a genius...collections like this are a god-send to those of us who enjoy a "B" grade or less movie. The cost is fantastic as well & saves so much time from downloading the same titles from public domain film websites.

"A SciFi Party!", Yes, these are low-budget cheesoids AND they are older than your Grandpa's slippers..but at around 13 bucks each, how the hell can you go wrong with 50 movies!

Notwithstanding that there are no "special features" or commentary, but so what? Most of the people who made or starred in these movies are probably dead already anyways.

Low-priced and bulk-quantity, retro SciFi fans will have a blast with this hugh collection.

"Great Pac if you like Classics", Im not going to set here and type a review for every single movie but what I will say is Im over 50 and some of these movies I would set up and watch when I was just a pup. If you can get through the grain and like to see old sci-fi movies then this collection is a must for you. Enjoy

"Poor collection", A disclaimer: I haven't actually finished the set yet. And may never.

On the plus side, the reason for two stars, you get a LOT of movies for cheap.

On the negative side, it's a huge collection of One-star and Two-star movies, some of which are completely unwatchable. The Two-star films are few and far between, and I have lost hope of discovering a Three-Star movie in the set.

Additionally, not only are the films bad, but the presentation is very poor. No educational materials about these films or their histories. Many are NOT science fiction films. And the sound and picture quality is very low.

"good for a few laughs", These movies are so very bad. Turn off the volume and make up your own dialogue - it'll probably be better than what's on.

"Could have been much better...", With all the movies in their catalogue one has to wonder why Mill Creek couldn't have compiled a better sci-fi collection than this. Several titles do not make the grade as 'sci-fi', especially the Italian sword and sandal Hercules fantasies. Looking at the 'Nightmare Worlds' collection the opportunity existed to put together a pretty good set of genuine sci-fi flicks ranging from the silent era up to the 1960s when things began to change. Early "so bad it's good" B-grade sci-fi can be loads of fun. Unfortunately, a lot of what is here is just plain bad. At this price still worth having, but could have been much better.

"Poor selection and trashy production values", First, read the list of titles carefully. This compilation, with a few exceptions, really scrapes the bottom of the barrel. Even for those of us who enjoy the occasional home matinee populated by aliens with zippers down their backs and earthly heroes wearing plastic fishbowls on their heads may find that many of these films are just too cheesy to be tolerable.

Annoyingly, the compilers have done--so far as I can tell--absolutely no clean up on either the visuals or the sound. As a result, some of the films are scratched, dirty, and difficult to understand.

All in all, a disappointing collection. Dirt cheap, though. Caveat emptor.

"Gotta love this collection :-)", There's quite a lot of movies here for the price - if you are a fan of the B type movies, it's a great collection. It's fun watching these movies, and gives you a break from the recent films with all the special effects. To some, the effects on these movies might seem cheezy, but that's also part of their appeal. The plots are simple and you'll see a few bad actors, but these movies are still great! One of my favorites is the Teenagers From Outer Space - you'll have fun watching this collection! :-)

"Sci-fi lovers thrillfest! ", My son is a film student, and like me, he loves the heyday of pure cheese and low-(or NO)-budget thrillers. I bought the SCIFI pack for myself and the DRIVE-IN pack for him on his 23rd birthday. He and his friends have movie nights and play MST3K-type games, and I love to just pop one into my laptop instead of poisoning my mind with Dr. Phil or CNN. The quality of the reproduction varies greatly but every one I have seen so far has been very watchable, and the price is like a gift from Movie Lovers' Heaven. In the Sci-Fi 50 Movie Pack, I read a review which listed "Invasion of the Saucer Men" as one of the films, but in the only (used) edition I was able to find, this film was SADLY not included. I'm still looking for it, if anyone knows where I can get it!
