"very good product", this product was the perfect gift for my husband to use with his lap top.

"Works Great, so far", I bought the Linksys WKPC54G Wireless-G Network Kit for Notebooks on Amazon for a great price ($36.25). I must say I was very apprehensive because of all the negative reviews. I've had a Linksys BEFSR41 4 port wired router for the last 7 years and it has been as solid as a rock. Anyway, I replaced the BEFSR41 with the WRK54G, hooked up all the wired connections (3 total, including a print server) and everything worked. Internet and local network worked fine. Turnkey installation. Next, I installed the CD software for the wireless card on a 4 year old DELL laptop (Windows XP) and everything went okay. The software indicated that it was connected to the router but it said I had no Internet connection. To make a long story short, I powered the router off/on and everything (including my Internet connection) worked fine. One thing I did notice was that anytime I made a change to my wireless settings on the router or laptop (especially wireless security), I had to cycle power on the router. Hardwire connections never had a problem. All in all, this combo works great. Range is pretty good and all my kids wireless game devices have no problem connecting. Buy it if the price is right. I've used it 3 days, only time will tell...

"having kids suits me just fine...", Got them off my computer and didn't have to run wires all around the house. Cheep fits my budget. Behind the curve but didn't have to finance it. Good enough to download and can use it at opposite side of the house at 45% conectivity at fifty feet away.

"Unsecured n quick", go against what it says. do NOT run any CD, etc. simply plug in the internet wire into the butt hole of this router. and u're online in 5 seconds.

then later on u can try goin thru the manual. amazing speed, very simple, quick n efficient. i approve.

"Finally working ok", There are a lot of variables involved in setting up a wireless network, and that is where good tech support could help. Unfortunately, if you are from the United States and don't understand heavily accented English, you may not learn much from Linksys' tech support. If you ask them to repeat themselves, the tech reps become very annoyed and loud. Then you have loud, angry, heavily accented tech support people. I asked to speak to an American tech support person and was transferred to a person with an even heavier accent! I gave up on tech support and started combing forums for weeks.
I finally got my system to stop dropping connections by going to control panel, network & Internet connections, network connections. Then I right- clicked on Wireless Network Connection, clicked on Advanced, then SSID. Here I clicked under Value, where "not present" was formerly selected, and typed in linksys for the SSID.
That fixed mine, but it might not be the problem with someone else's wireless network that is dropping connections.
My previous wireless network didn't have this problem, but it was another brand.

"Still not able to configure and use it", I do not know whether the problem is with the router or my laptop because it does not work at all.
I am so pissed off because of this that I cannot even use the wireless router. If i call customer service they say the problem is from internet service provider and when i call internet service provider they say the problem is from Router....
I have no idea what to do. I think better you take the product back , else I have no idea what to do with this

"Junk", After wanting to throw this out the window - I, too, did some research. This bundled router is junk. Buy it piece meal or from another vendor but do not buy this bundle. It drops conections frequently and without moving the computer.

"Works well, but expensive", At first I had a lot of difficulty with getting this router set up. I found out that the best thing to do is instead of installing the software that comes with the router, go to Linksys' web site and download it, therefore you will be sure to get the latest copy. Since then I have not had any trouble with it.

"Weak signal and crappy setup disk", Originally I thought this would be a great bundle right off the shelf, but configuring the thing to pick up on my dsl signal was a nightmare. The installation disc is the worst one I have ever experienced and the pdf is practically useless except for the ip address of your router (it is the only way you can configure the darn thing, manually, so if you are a newb to computing, forget it)and the internet port was useless as well. After setting the ips and dns in the router's internal config I just hooked up the modem to one of the normal wired ports (disregarding the manual) and voila!!!

Signal strength leaves something to be desired, it is EXTREMELY weak and will sometimes produce horrible lagging (specially for gaming). If you are not gonna be wondering away from the router then this product is right for you, the wireless card bundled works great; otherwise, get something else, trust me, its worth it.
