"A surprisingly decent first person shooter, it's Halo only much better...", I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this game, I thought this game would have something to do with Star Wars (since there was a game called Star Wars: Bounty Hunter and I thought this was it), so I was a little disappointed to find out that this didn't have anything to do with Star Wars. Still, I tried it out, and much to my surprise, I warmed up to it and it turned out to be a lot of fun.

Pros:
* Levels are HUGE! The engine also deals with levels in one go, so you have minimal loading times when moving from place to place within the level.
* Graphics are actually pretty good. Models are done well and texture work is great.
* Like I said, it reminds me a lot of Halo, the HUD display is similar as is the font and color on the HUD, and like Halo, Mace is fitted with a shield that depletes and recharges, and if you're hit when the shield is down, that is when you actually lose health.
* The AI is actually pretty good.
* Weapons are plentiful, and they are powerful, especially the chaingun that you carry with you almost throughout the whole game.
* Saving the best for last, my favorite aspect of this game is the space sections. You've got a powerful ship and you have space dogfights in between missions, and you fly to your destination in each level, so you can dock and leave at your pleasure. What's more, the landing and taking off at locations is seamless, meaning there's no loading in between using the ship or playing on foot.

Cons:
* No multiplayer. After experiencing the weapon's sheer power and the space dogfights, I would have LOVED to have those dogfights with friends of mine. The lack of multiplayer is a big bummer, at least for me. Co-Op in this game would have been awesome.
* Levels, while huge, can become repetitive at times, in that you feel like you walk into a new room and feel like it's exactly the same room that you just left, although I will admit it's not as awfully repetitive as in Halo (anyone remember the Library level? It felt like FOREVER!).
* The story is pretty weak, and the voice acting is pretty weak too, especially from Mace Griffin, thoroughly unconvincing. It's funny, since they made a big deal on the cover about Henry Rollins providing Mace's voice, and while I'd never heard of the guy before, he didn't do a great job.

I feel like I've not done the game justice. Overall, it is a great game, and I would play it at least once more (finished it a couple weeks ago), and I'd recommend this game for the space dogfight sections alone. It's fun, don't get me wrong, just expect a lot of exploring and a lot of shooting. While that's never a bad thing, there must be a limit of how far you have to walk to accomplish your objectives... :)
