"These tanks work fine in my i9100", I have a Canon i9100 wide-format printer. I've tried several after-market ink tanks that are supposed to fit this printer but non have worked- they don't fit in the ink carriage. So I'm stuck with using the Canon brand. Amazon's price for the BCI-6 6-pack is about the cheapest I've found for the branded stuff. Since these are ink tanks and not cartridges they are not recyclable as credits for new tanks. Also, this printer/tank combination goes through ink like crazy, way more is used than my old HP used. Another problem, and part of the reason it goes through so much ink, is that the print heads get clogged up very easily. If I'm not printing every day, the heads get plugged and I have to use the print-head cleaning utility, which wastes a tremendous amount of ink. I'm not sure how much of the problem is due to the ink versus how much is due to the print head design. Again, I never had this problem with my old HP. If I can ever afford to buy another printer it will probably not be a Canon.

"Canon BCI-6 ink cartridge", You can't beat OEM ink cartridges in my opinion. More dependable than refilled cartridges and better quality printing in my experience.

"Ink's great - Packaging Nightmare", Canon Inks are excellent. I make a lot of gallery quality prints and the Canon Inks are splendid in my good Canon printer. This group of inks has the colors I need most frequently.

However, the packaging is a nightmare to get through. I have mixed feelings every time a supply of inks arrives as I know it will be a long time before I slice/slash through the plastic wraps to get at the product I need.

Especially for a store like Amazon, it should be easy enough for Canon to dispense with the extra 'pilfer proof' plastic.

"SAVE MONEY, BUY GENUINE CANON INK", Save your money and buy Canon ink. Years ago I bought a Canon 6000D printer and after the ink tanks ran dry I refilled them with third party ink. I didn't see any difference at first but slowly the colors changed. I started seeing a slight magenta cast, but continued to refill thinking I was saving money. A few weeks ago I bought a Canon Pro 9000 printer. I was shocked to see the beauty of my first print. It was a photo I printed on my Canon 6000D just days before I got the Pro 9000. What a difference. No magenta cast, bright yellows and greens, and an orange that would bowl you over. I then replaced the ink tanks in my 6000D with genuine Canon ink. After cleaning the heads I printed the photo again. Night and day. The quality of the 6000D print came close to that of the Pro 9000. The magenta cast was gone, all the colors were rich and clean. The tanks with third party ink is now in the garbage where they belong. I am now thinking of the wasted paper I used trying to get one good print using the NON Canon ink. I would have been way ahead, and saved money if I used Canon ink in the first place.

"No substitute for Canon printers", I own a Canon Pixma, I6000D. I've been a photographer for over 15 years. My first printed pictures (on Photo Paper Pro) from my digital camera were better then most prints that I had made with actual color paper.

I've used other printer inks, and other papers. Canon's color is amazing, accurate, and the best.

The price was excellent and the cartridges worked perfectly in my Canon i960 printer. The 6-pack is very convenient since it includes one of each color, plus black. There is less packaging for this 6-pack set than when buying 6 individual cartridges, so there's less waste to dispose of.
