"2 out of 2 broke immediately"
My first one began malfunctioning on vacation, blinking red and not recharging. I bought a second one. The second time I went to use it, the same thing happened - it just blinks red regardless of the batteries used or whether it's plugged into the wall or the car lighter.

"It's super fast, but..."
Yep, the batteries charge in 15 minutes. Yippy skippy. However, even from the very beginning, the batteries that came with the charger will not hold their charge for more than 3 days - without even using them at all!

I bought this charger and the 4 batteries it comes with for my Sony digital camera. Even though it charges batteries in only 15 minutes, I often charge the batteries for my camera in the evening and place them inside the camera so it is ready for the next day. Sometimes I check and it shows a full charge. By the next morning, however, if I turn the camera on it shows that the batteries only have half their charge. They seem to provide less performance (in terms of number of photos I can take) than alkaline batteries, and have minimal standby time after charging.

I think the incredible speed of charging and the high heat generated during the fast charge from this charger ruins the batteries so that they do not hold a charge for as long as they are supposed to. This ends up being an inconvenience for me. I am disappointed and will be looking for another charger. For me, having my camera batteries last for at least a week on standby is more important than having the batteries charge in just a few minutes.

"Good charger"
This charger is fast and it does charge all batteries i have, including Sony, Panasonic and Duracell. It may have problem charging some old Nimb batteries where it red leds flashes but you can manually discharge those batteries until the empty (use them in any high drain devices) and try again. 3/4 worked for me.

"Horrible Product"
Soon after using this product (Previously I had been using an energizer travel charger) it started with a blinking red light when I inserted batteries. I thought it simply wasn't charging my batteries, but they won't charge in my travel charger now either. Little did I know it was destroying the energizer brand batteries I was putting into it. I looked this up online after it happened and found that many other people have experienced this problem. So now I'm left with a charger that destroyed batteries and 12 or 16 useless energizer rechargeable batteries that are only a few months old - what a waste. I would definitely think twice about purchasing this product or at least look around a bit more.

"Initial Impressions are Very Good"
After an unimpressive experience with NiMH about 4 years ago and throwing away numerous non-rechargeable Lithium primary batteries from my shoe-mount camera flashes since then, I decided it was worth giving NiMH cells another shot.

So far, things are much improved. Energizer has excellent rechargeable batteries by reputation, and initial impressions of this charger are favorable.

What I like:

- 4 independent charging circuits. This means it charges each battery individually, rather than treating each pair as though it were a single battery. Since batteries in series are limited by the weakest battery, this is important because it ensures that each individual battery is topped-off.
- 25 mA pulse maintenance charge after initial charging period (100 mA spread among the 4 circuits is 25 mA per battery). This means I can leave batteries in the charger indefinitely without worry because this is a slow enough charge rate for any quality NiMH AA battery to tolerate.
- Even in fast charge (1,875 mA), the batteries stay cool due to the fan. In fact, even when charging at 1,875 mA in this charger, batteries are cooler than in my old 700 mA charger.
- Detects reverse polarity and primary batteries. If I get stupid and accidentally put a non-rechargeable battery in this, or if I put a battery in backwards, the charger will refuse to charge it instead of blowing it up. That's nice.
- Detects battery voltage and temperature to intelligently shut itself off. Some of the more inexpensive chargers are simply timer-based, which can leave you with batteries that are overcharged and damaged, or that are undercharged.

What I dislike:

- Power adapter is huge. This is not a convenient travel charger. On the other hand, the power adapter does stay cool, which is a positive thing. And it does draw 85 watts during fast-charge mode, so a smaller adapter probably isn't an option.
- It is LOUD during fast-charge. Definitely not something to plug in right before going to bed at night. This is the price to pay for keeping the batteries cool. Thankfully, the fan shuts off in trickle-charge mode.

What our customer's say!

"Battery killer", This product worked well initially. After two year's ownership (with rather infrequent charging), most of my batteries are now id'd as defective (red blinking light on charger). After some research on the web, I believe the high charging rate reduces the life of the NiMHs because of overheating. Also, while it is optimized for energizer batteries, other NiMHs might not be optimally controlled and will result in significant overcharge and possibly accelerating irreversible damage on those batteries. Ultimately, you will have to decide if you want to trade a quick charge for battery life.

"Don't use this charger", I bought this charger only to discover that it damages batteries. Initially I could get about a 100 shots from my Canon with 2 AA's. After only 3 or 4 charges on the included Energizer AA's,the batteries start to self discharge and fully discharged in only 24 hours without use. I have changed to Sanyo Eneloop batteries and the La Crosse BD900 charger. I get double the shots and the batteries can be left in the camera for a week without noticeable self discharge.

The Energizer batteries that came with this 15 minute charger are now damaged and don't respond to the reconditioning mode of my new charger and continue to self discharge.

I am very disappointed with Energizer and their charger.

"same as the rest", sorta worked for a while..then killed most of the batteries..basically, what all the other 1 star reviews had problems with, so did i.

"It's Good!", I got this charger to support our new digital cameras.
The charger I have has both an AC and a DC power cord, so you can charge while in your car, if you need to. It charges both 2200 and 2500 mHr Ni-MH batteries. The package I got had the charger, a set of batteries, and the power adapters. The model is CH15MN. It works very fast and it makes a little noise, with the fan going. It is very useful while at home and traveling.

"Didn't even charge it's own batteries", I tried 10 different AA batteries on this device, including the batteries that came with the package (two AAA and two AA batteries).

This device only charged one AA battery, and didn't even charge the two AA batteries that came with the package. It charged the AAA batteries which came with the package, however.

Neat idea. Poor quality. I'm returning this item.

"15 minutes is what I need!", I love this charger. I have my batteries ready in 15 minutes, and safe to be handled without burning thanks to the internal fan. It was a great buy!

"Fast or what?", Well I bought it on impulse.. price was really good. I have 3 chargers already but nothing like this.. 15 mins - it really is that fast.. I am really impressed.. other chargers are finding new homes - I use batteries that fast & this new one really does keep em charged fast & I can also keep em goin in the car too. excellent.. will charge up any of my previously purchased batteries (NiMH).

"Piss Poor", I just returned this "piece of crap" charger to the store. Man, what a disappointment. Oooh, yeah, it charges those batteries pretty darn quickly. But, uh oh, don't think you're gonna get to use the batteries for longer than 15 minutes without needing to recalibrate them. Geesh, I thought I really hit the jackpot with this when I bought it for my Canon Powershot A630, but the product turned out to be a dud. I charged them first, because I didn't trust that they come charged out of the box. Then, I put the "re-charged" batteries into my camera and, I kid you not, no less than 15 minutes after doing so the camera indicated to me that the batteries were low. So, I charged them again, and again, after placing them in the camera, it indicated to me that the batteries were low after only a few minutes of usage this time. So, I toted it back to the store, got my money back and bought the Sanyo Eneloop Re-Charger. To say that the Eneloop works better would be too much like telling the truth. But, it outshines the UnEnergiz-ed "re-charged" batteries absolutely. If you can get it to work for you, awesome! If you buy it and find that it doesn't work well, then "I told you so."

"Not Good", Used it for over an year. Will charge only selective batteries. Not even all the 4 batteries that came with it.

"Changed to a 1 STAR", I love this charger! I had the original chargers that took over 15 hours to charge.. now it's about 15mins! It even fits the AAA batteries.

***EDIT***

After several months of use, my batteries would not hold a charge. I read that this happens when you use quick chargers. I bought a tenergy battery & 3hr charger combos and they've been great for almost year now.
