"No map and a cracked case."
My case was cracked and there was no map ... NO MAP. I can deal with a cracked case, I can deal with the manual being in a PDF although I would've preferred the booklet other people got. But NO MAP, shame on you Ubisoft and shame on Amazon for showing a different version of this game on the ad. The one I got has Ubisoft on the box (Bethesda probably got them to distribute it at some point) and the one they show in the picture is the original Bethesda box which I know has a paper manual and a MAP. I found a map on Ebay for a few dollars ... but I should not of had to.

That being said, The Elder Scrolls are 5 star games ... see rating for "how much fun is this game" ... whether if its Daggerfall, Morrowind, or Oblivion (I never played Arena) The Elder Scrolls are maybe the only 5 star RPGs out there. Not since Lord British's original Ultima series (I-VI, way before EA bought out Origin Systems and made it Ultima Online) has there been such an engrossing computer RPG. If you like single player (this is NOT an MMO) and totally modable RPGs (there are still new mods coming out for Morrowind and it was '02 ... '03 for GOTY version) then you will love The Elder Scrolls whether if its Morrowind or Oblivion.

"A truely epic game!"
I've played this game for well over a year now and I still haven't finished it. There is so much to do, so many options, so many quests, so many characters you can play!!! There is also a great support forum online, filled with lots friendly gamers who are happy to help you out if you get stuck. I've played other RPG's but this is and will probably always be, my favorite game!

Sadly, they don't make epic games like this much anymore. Hey, what company wants you to play the same game for a year? So, do yourself a favor and buy this game before it's gone for good!

"Classic at Least"
One of the most, if not THE most, expansive and intricate games of all time. A must buy for all fans of the RPG genre. The best part is, if you don't like parts of the game use the Construction Set (included) to fix or rebuild anything!

"Immersive RPG"
This game is 5/5 for fun. Overall I give it 4/5 for some gripes with the overall gameplay, and the frequent crashes. Also, it comes with no printed manual or materials whatsoever. It is literally a plain box with a single dvd inside. The manual can be found in PDF format on the disc.
I enjoyed the freeform deign and ability to do whatever you want. Join factions, do the main quest, or just hunt for artifacts in tombs and ruins. Some of the 26 or so skills are sort of useless, and I think the game's overall choice of making a fighter, a mage, or a thief are unbalanced, with fighter being the most powerful. However this isn't such a flaw because one of the game's best features is the custom class creation. So if you want to be a mage but find that a "pure" mage is too weak, you can have a mage that wears heavy armor, uses longswords, and has sneaking skills. The freedom is a great feature, maybe the best one. The story is great, and the "culture" of the setting feals realistic and so do the many towns, cities, and places. Another plus is that the dialouge is textual, not spoken. Some people complain about this, but it leaves you free to overlay whatever inflections or accents you want over the text using your imagination, as opposed to hearing the same recording over and over. The graphics are very good, considering the game's 6 years old, you may be surprised by how well the overall appearance of the game has kept up with today's expectations. Most PCs should be able to run it with all full settings. The bodies don't look good, however. It doesn't natively support widescreen aspect ratios, but you can edit the registry or get a 3rd part program to change the settings for you. The music is excellent, although it can be annoying when the game's music engine interrupts the "explore" track with a "battle" track simply because a little creature runs past your feet. Overall, I highly reccomend this game for its depth freedom, and replay value. It has tons of backstory and lore for people interested by the "culture" of Morrowind, as well as over 200 in-game, readable books, plays, notes, and scrolls. In other words, you can get sucked into the culture and lore if that's your style, or you can totally ignore it with no affect on your ability to complete the quests.

"The God of RPGs!!!!"
I got this game little more than a year ago and i havent even beat it! I just wanted to make a new character and see what would happen. The thing is that Morrowind is so, so real. I have never such a more realistic game. Its got great music, great story line, hundreds of side quests, great combat, and a just desinges!

What our customer's say!

"Morrowind", I had played The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind quite a while ago on a friends Xbox and to be honest I was not really impressed by the game the first time I played it. The gameplay seemed boring and drab, and the story just seemed like an endless array of pointless quests. However, after playing the outstanding Elder Scrolls: Oblivion on that same friends PC, I started to think about the previous venture into the world of The Elder Scrolls and wondered if I had given that game a fighting chance. After much deliberation, I decided to purchase the game (and its two expansions) for my laptop. I was worried that such a huge game would really tax my computer's gaming power, but the game is just old enough (or is it maybe the graphics are just crappy enough) that the game played smooth without any problems. It was after all of this that I realized that I made a huge mistake with this game. Morrowind swept me away into another world, full of gods, demons, heroes, fantasy and nasty villains where anything seems possible. Sure the graphics may not be on par with Oblivion, but to be honest I think the story is even better! I found myself spending hours, days, and weeks questing and exploring this seemingly endless world uncovering the deep and occasionally very dark secrets of Morrowind's vast history that spans thousands of years. Playing this game is like going on an adventure each time you start, and there seems to always be new and fun surprises! I must be completely honest with you, that...well...I cheated on this game...a lot. For such a vast world that needs lots and lots and LOTS of exploration why would they start you off so weak and make you run sooo darn slow??? Enter the mighty console (thank Lord Vivec!). Despite how great this game is...it still has many, many flaws. Not just graphically (clipping can be a little weird) but with gameplay. Sometimes the gameplay can get a little repetitive, a simple hack and slash motion every time you attack seems like the developers could have put a little more time and thought into the combat...but what do I know. Probably my biggest gripe begins with two words CLIFF RACERS; the name alone makes me want to kill someone. Of all the games flaws, putting these obnoxious, annoying, utterly pointless creatures in the game for almost constant interruption is simply unneeded. I have looked for mods on several occasions that would remove those gosh darn creatures from the game, but have had no luck. I've learned to just live with them and their shrieks that make you want to commit suicide (just kidding of course). Anyways, Morrowind is a truly great game and the expansions only get better and more interesting, ending with the triumphant Bloodmoon, which I personally think is the best of the Morrowind games (and the most polished and fun to play). I overlooked a truly great game but redeemed myself by purchasing it for my pc. Morrowind is an epic and amazing adventure game that I hope hasn't been too quickly forgotten amongst this new era of games.

"Awesome", This game will give you hours of fun and ther are a ton of mods to keep you busy even after you beat the game

"Good game bad format", I recently got my xbox stolen so i picked up the PC version of this game, games awesome, dont like the controls.

"Fun and also Frustrating ", Its a large game and while you should give it a chance I would say that its expansion packs are much better. While the game is incredibly complex and very time consuming it can be incredibly frustrating. The cities do have their own individual stamp and you will have a lot of fun running around adventuring but after you run around some caves and kill some zombies.

The main problem with this game is the shear size of the environment you will often have to haul something incredibly valuable like heather or golden kornet across half the continent.

Another problem that I had with the was the fact that while the cities have a distinct look of their own in the countryside there is no way to distinguish from one anonymous cave to another.

My final problem with the game is that while you have the option to take multiple quests to take over the various guilds when you win and after you have put all your effort into the quests the only reward you get is a bunch of people going "Yes Master" and "How can I be of assistance Master?"

Overall-While it can sometimes be very fun especially the expansion packs the combat can be awkward and the daring hikes over long distances will get really old really fast. Make sure you have a top of the line system it can cause problems in the form of frustrating load times.

"Interesting addition to any role player's collection", This game is a predecessor to Oblivion, this game is in either first or third person perspective, and although the graphics are dated if you want to play an rpg that has a good length and has a wealth of user made content this game is something you need to look into.

"After many years, it keeps on giving...", I first played Morrowind on the Xbox and enjoyed it. On the PC its just as good if not better. The expansions make the world of Morrowind a bit more interesting. If you can't upgrade to Oblivion, Morrowind still does the trick.

"Old, but still good... if you're not on Vista", I run Windows Vista, and even though you CAN get it to run, you have to run through so many loops and hurdles, it REALLY detracts from the game. If you have XP, I'd definetly recommend this game. If you have Vista, it'll be worth it, but like I said, be prepared to work for it.

"Eldar Scrolls: Morrowind", The Morrowind Game of the Year Edition of Eldar Scrolls 3 was very easy to install and start playing. Having first play Oblivion and then went back to ES3 some of the playability features around interacting with the world around you was disappointing but a lot of the functionality was there and the universe was huge. I had many hours just exploring. If I had one beef it was around the alchemey and making potions, I have trouble keeping track of all the items and how they went together, apart from keeping separate list which I was not prepared to do.
Overall a very enjoyable game with no bugs and easy to pick up and go.

"bad controls left me bored the first night", sorry, i know this is suppose to be a great game...but i couldn't get into it at all. combat was terrible, just atrocious. the quests were ok, from what i did...there wasn't much direction though so it was a lot of guess work, and find the hiding npc or item...which wasn't fun when you found out your missing an item, with no leads at all as to where that item might be located. in a world as big as elder scrolls(good thing), finding something with no idea as to where it is(very bad thing) in a huge world, just isn't good at all.

"still great for older cpu's", Morrowind is still a grat game for older, less graphically capbable machines. In addition, you benefit from years of modding experience in order to enhance the game, a very sensible price for the game and two expansions, and a game where most, if not all the problems are known and patched.

For a casual gamer...this game is still awesome.
