"Good not great headphones"
These are a good purchase and worth the price. Still not the base bass I was hoping but I'm happy. If you have the standard ipod headphones and want to step it up notch this is def the way to go though.

"above average ear buds"
Pros:

-seals out ambient noise very well
-excellent sound reproduction
-good wire length

Cons:

-the plastic polymer buds are too hard and uncomfortable, and fall out easily (stick with the yellow sponge)
-yellow sponge buds get dirty easily and loose elasticity over time (about 2-3 months)

Overall:

An above average pair of ear buds with good sound quality. Just make sure you buy ample yellow spongy ear buds.

"Poor Quality"
I bought this earbuds, i was very exciting to use em but i hate to say that but the truth is they are even worse than dollar store earphones, trust me or not, completely Waste of time to read other review, peoples who give 5 star i believe they don't know the meaning of sound even technology. Good Packing and Cables doesn't make great sound, I am going to return them even my regular earbuds are a lot better than this junk.

"Great sound, but be gentle with the wires!"
I've used these for 3 years of daily train commuting, and they isolate the outside sound fairly well. My only major complaint is that, despite carefully winding them in the supplied case each day, the wires eventually frayed near the earbuds. I had the same issue with earlier Sony earbuds, and I thought the thicker gauge wires of the Shure would help.

On the plus side, Shure honored the 2-year warranty and promptly sent me a brand-new replacement. But now, barely a year later, the cord is fraying again on both sides, the signal is dropping out, and I've finally decided to order a pair of Etymotic Research ER6i Isolator In-Ear Earphones (Black), since I've had a lot of success with their musician's earplugs. Their wires look delicate too, so I think I'll pre-emptively wrap them with some electrical tape near the bud end, a precaution that might be advised with these Shure models as well.

Bottom line, I loved the e2cs, but it's time to move on. YMMV...

"Shure E2c Ear buds."
When I purchased these, I was looking for a professional quality of ear buds/phones that would deliver all of the frequencies and not just the mid range or treble frequencies like other ear bud sets that I have tried. I also didn't want to spend several hundred dollars for a good set. These were just what I was looking for.

"Great product but...", These ear phones do sound great but they're just not for everyday use. They do come with different size and style ear buds to custom fit your ear. With me the ear phone will occasionally pop out of my ear no matter which ear bud I use. It get's annoying after a while.

"Hearing aid?", I ordered this Amazon a while back, and didn't like it from the beginning. It did not fit well, and really stood out. It looked as if I was wearing hearing aid. Not attractive at all...

"Yeah, they're good.", These earphones are great, and should definetly be considered if your looking at the sub $100 price range.

Some Pros:

+Crisp and clear highs, awesome mids.
+Durable Design.
+Cool Looking.
+Tons of eartips included, so you will definetly find a fit you like.
+Case included.

Some Cons:

-There isn't much bass. Its not really a problem, but im just putting it out there. You can tweak your EQ a bit, and it will be fine. If you listen to primarily Hip-Hop, I wouldn't get these. I would get the Dr. Dre earphones.
-The way you wear them is stupid and confusing at first. Once you learn how its not a problem. They stay in securely, and you can wear the cable in front or in back if you want. Now it only takes me a few seconds to get these in.

Overall these headphones provide clear and crisp sound that isn't overpowered by bass. Im happy with them.

"great earbuds", This is a great set of ear buds, but they do take some time to get used to. Initially I regretted buying them because I was having a difficult time fitting them in my ear, this problem went away after a few weeks of use and I have since used them almost everyday for the past two years. The sound is very balanced, not a lot of bass, but if you get them fitted right in your ear canal the bass can be more than satisfactory. The only problem I've had with these is the fact that eventually the cord gets stiff and cracks...(maybe due to cold weather?) This is unfortunate because the buds themselves are still in perfect condition. Not sure if Shure would have covered this under warranty since it has been more then two years. overall I recommend this earbuds.

"Great sound quality, but poor wiring", When these earphones work as they're supposed to, they are probably the best earphones on the market in this price range. For instance, I also own a pair of Bose in-ear headphones. While I think the sound quality from Bose is noticeably better, they don't block out an iota of sound and it becomes quite noticeable after you're used to the Shure earphones. In fact, the Shure earphones are so good at blocking out sound that I've even used them as ear plugs while flying.

Having said that, I've already gone through 2 pairs of Shure earphones in 2 years, the most recent pair do not work, and I'm now beyond my warranty period. Less than a year after I bought my first pair, the sound started breaking in and out, to the point where only one earphone was really transmitting sound at any point. I couldn't listen to more than 30 seconds of this before the volume fluctuations drove me crazy. I sent my earphones in the Shure and they sent a brand new pair within a few weeks. These worked great for a few months, but the same problem happened again. I think it's an exposed wire problem (something mentioned in earlier reviews), so electrical tape might help. But who wants to walk around with earphones covered in tape?

Now that I'm past my two-year warranty, I'm feeling frustrated because I know these would be great earphones if only they had a longer shelf life. I think the cost (even at $70 on Amazon with free shipping) is still too high to justify earphones that work for a few months before driving you insane. I realize now that these earphones have been broken for at least as much time as they have worked well. I'm hoping there's something better out there.

Some tips, if you do decide to buy these:
-It takes awhile to get used to the putting them in and out of your ear, but it does feel natural and comfortable after a few uses.
-Clean the flex sleeves regularly to avoid build-up of dirt, which interferes with sound quality.
-It might be best to store these in the carrying case after every use, which could prevent the wiring problems I've had.
-Don't be afraid to send them in ASAP for replacements!

Read this reviews before You buy...

"A difficult fit", I purchased these earphones for my daughter's 17th birthday. Despite having an assortment of ear piece sizes, my daughter could not get these earphones to fit properly and subsequently the sound was inferior.

I would suggest to any buyer to try these earphones on for proper fit and sound before purchasing.

"Dissapointed... i wanted to realy like these", I ordered these for $66, when i got it i was excited, a cool package, a great fit and thick cable... but the bass was just NOT THERE... i tried all fits and found the one that fit best and snug and it was by far the best fit and sound canceling, i will give it that, but the bass was just weak, I own a zune 80gb and i have no way of boosting the bass, and i am not a bass freak, but when i listen to rock i want to feel like i am at a concert and have the sound sound natural but this had hurtful mid-highs, ok mids, and a lack of bass... they have great highs, and if you have an equalizer you may be able to tweak it or if u listen to soft rock it may be ok, but i wouldn't spend the $70-100 on these otherwise, i got the senheiser cx300 and love them...

"Excellent quality sound. Not sure about the design.", The shure earphones have a really crisp quality to them. In their price range, I think they definitely beat their competition on sound quality alone. However the in-ear design is not for everyone, and it does take some getting used to. I strongly recommend trying the different foams and buds that come with it until you are most comfortable first. It usually takes a bit of time after that to get completely used to them, but eventually you get there within a week or so at most. My only complaint is perhaps the build of the wires. Unfortunately I lost sound in one of the earphones after a few months and it was due to the wires being damaged (not externally however) I strongly recommend using the spool when not using the phones lest you have the same problem. Otherwise definitely a good deal, and at the current discounted price of [...], its a steal!

"Excellent sound quality, isolation, and comfort!", I love these earphones! They have excellent sound quality and isolate me from other noises and distractions. They are an essential upgrade to the headphones that came with my Zune.

The only drawback for me is that the cord is a little stiff, causing it to get tangled and be slightly less manageable than I would like.

Overall though, I certainly recommend these headphones anyone interested in better sound quality and who enjoy isolating earphones.

"Great sound, but wires are a problem", I have had these headphones for over a year and they are by far the best sounding headphones I have ever had (granted, almost anything is a step up from the included iPod earbuds). I am no audiophile, but the sound quality of these in-ears allows me to hear sounds and nuances I have never heard before in music I've been listening to for years and I love them. On the downside, just like many reviewers here, the chords on both sides have broken in exactly the same place (just where they curve over the ear). It hasn't affected the sound quality as far as I can tell, so I'm reluctant to give them up to have them replaced since I use them pretty much non-stop. In short, they are great, but the chord will most definitely break with even the slightest back-and-forth bending (meaning straightening and re-curving over the ear). I think if I would not have tried to straighten them out all the time, they may have held up a little better.
