What our customer's say!

"Egypt 1 and Egypt 2", In truth, I have only gotten the chance to play the first game in the two game pack so far. Both games have been on my list of ones to buy for a while and I took the plunge. I had to go in and change the compatibility setting on my computer for the game to run smooth, once that was done all things went well.
Egypt fans will be very happy to get this game. The fact that the game developers, writers, The country of Egypt and a museum there (can't recall the name at present) took the time to work together and make the lay of the land historically correct and also the insides of the tombs historically correct was a real bonus plus to have discovered after the purchase of the game set. I found myself taking the time during game play to look around and tour, if you will, to see the sights. The game has some interesting puzzles in it and a few good surprises too.
Be warned if you decide to purchase this game. If you miss one or any of the important clues in the game you cannot go back to get them. You have to start over. I missed one of the clues early on and didn't realize I hadn't executed it properly for it to register until near the end of the game and had to start over from an early point in play. The game also has a couple of traps in it. If you pick up a couple of items that you are not supposed to it's curtains for you. Save the game often and before starting ANY new puzzle. You never know when that one will come up that you grab the wrong thing and then go you the big tomb in the sky.
I enjoyed playing the game, even when I found out I had to go back to near the beginning and get an important clue for the near end of the game.
This point and click game is a real winner in my book. I would be very surprised if the second game in the set didn't meet or exceed the first.
It will cause me to pay strict attention and save the game a bit more than I did the first one.
I would recommend this game to anyone who likes the role playing format.
I know I will be playing it again in the future.
The fact that I accomplished my own work around at one point where I got stuck in the game and had a favorable outcome the third time that I played it gave me a sense of cracking the rock a little differently.
I did find the back ground music a bit annoying in the game, there is a setting where you can turn it down or off altogether. I tried turning it down at first, then finally just turned it off.
Be sure and read the README file, I printed a copy out, it gives some important information for changing settings that may allow you to play the game smoothly. On a scale of 1-10 I give it 9.5.

"Refreshing...", When I received this game as a gift, I was more than excited. I have been a complete archeology/Egyptology nut since I was about six years old. So games with an ancient civilization based theme have always captured my attention. Here is my review of Egypt 1.

Plot- A- In this game, you are trying to save your father's life. He has been accused of robbing a tomb, and the penalty is death. While the story was quite intriguing, you never felt that sense of urgency that should have accompanied it.

Graphics- B+ The graphics in this game were OK. They weren't terrible, but they weren't anything remarkable. The people in the game all kind of looked alike, and were rather... I don't know... the color on their skin was kind of patchy. Like the three dimensional effects went wrong somewhere. And I don't know, I had an old system at the time so maybe it was just my computer.

Puzzle- B Some of the puzzles were very reasonable and simple to solve, but some of them required use of a walk through. At least I had to use a walk through. I am no genius, so other people might be able to do it without one.

Content- B+ There is no profanity in this game, but there is some suggestive content that parents should be aware of. You are asked by a woman standing on a street corner to "come have a drink with her" (you get the impression that a drink is the last thing on her mind). Your character (a male in this game) is not actually allowed to have a drink with her, but the insinuation of the woman's comments are obvious. There is also some violence in the game. Your character ends up killing a man in self-defense. (You throw a boomerang across a field at the archer who is shooting at you.) That is about all the possibly objectionable content that I can think of.

Game Play- I think that for this game, as well as Egypt II, you have to install a patch from the adventure company to get the games to work on newer systems. As long as you have internet access on your computer, this shouldn't be a problem. If you don't have internet access, I would skip this game.

Egypt II:The Heliopolis Prophecy

Plot- A+ This game's plot was much better than Egypt 1. In this game, you play a young, female physician who is investigating an outbreak of illness in the ancient city of Heliopolis. Tense music and constant reminders of the lives in danger give this game the sense of urgency that the first game in the series lacked.

Graphics-B The graphics in this game were about the same as in the first one. Another problem that I experienced with this game is that some of the screens were very dark. I found myself waving the cursor over entire areas just to make sure that I didn't miss any hot spots.

Puzzles- A+ There were some very ingenious puzzles in this game. Well, ingenious may be a little bit of an exaggeration, but they were really quite good. I only had to consult a walk through once during this game, and when I saw the solution to the puzzle the simplicity of it made me feel like a complete idiot.

Content-A- This game had about the same amount of content in it as the first game. Your character is... well... flirted with?... by one of the characters, and you promise a man that "you will visit him in his tent that night if he lets you into a building." As in the first game, you are not actually allowed to. There is not much violence in this game, but you are drugged and dumped in a cave. When you wake up, you are lying next to a dead man. It is not graphic or anything, but I don't know if it would bother young children or not. You should also know that your main character is a priestess of Sechmet. You aren't performing any rituals or worshiping any gods through it, but she does offer a prayer to Sechmet at one point during the game.

Overall-A This is a great game for anyone interested in adventure or mystery! Buy this set! P.S. Sorry for the lengthy review, but it is two separate game after all!

"EGYPT 2. I did it ! ...Beautiful Night scene.", I just did EGYPT 2 .This is the 1st. game I have ever played and completed, but half way thru HAD to get the cheat sheet, impossible without.Ancient Egypt pretty much as I had dreamed about it. Disappointed in that the "city" is practically deserted.Kept playing hoping to "meet" more inhabitants.Wanted to pat the donkey and give it a snack..but one glides past so much, like a ghost!..Wished to explore more, but locations are limited. The cat is apparently a manifestation of Sekhmet.Worth persevering for the NIGHT scene alone! Kept staring at the star-filled sky & full moon! Horrible drum puzzle yielded to persistence, after about 30 tries was allowed to proceed. The so-called "Party" apparently had no guests..? The beer measuring puzzle I just followed cheat sheet.Liked the 1st.person role-play better than trying to control a virtual body, which I find distracting. So, I "succeeded", but there was hardly anyone to "celebrate" with!...A lonely life it was.

"Not what I expected", This game was OK not the best I have played. Some areas in the game struck me as boring. Some of the puzzles are a challenge if you never played them before. My daughter started playing the game and she is 12. She says she prefers playing the Nancy Drew games.

"One is bust, Two is better", Egypt 1 had nice graphics, but the logic of play was fuzzy and the storyline erratic. The final puzzle was extremely confusing and I was forced to go to a walkthrough to solve it. I would not recommend the game.

Egypt 2 was quite a bit better. The organization was better, some of the puzzles more interesting and the graphics excellent. The navigation has considerably better as well. I did have trouble with one puzzle that has solved by downloading the patch.
