"Microsoft Office Pro 2003" Microsoft Office Pro 2003 edition is a good product. It installed easily over Office Pro 1997. I haven't had any problems with it (yet). It relies heavily on online links, you probably should have a fast DSL connection or broadband if you are going to use the online links. Update: I am using Windows XP with Office Pro 2003 and today was disappointed to find that the Help menu is not as user friendly or helpful as earlier editions.
"Consider the cost, but it was worth it for me" I was happy enough with the function of Office XP, and held off upgrading for a long time. What pushed me over was when I switched to using Outlook as my email client, accessing quite a few POP3 email accounts for various websites. Getting a spam filter to work smoothly under that circumstance was nasty: I spent many hours in addition to the fees for programs that were clunky and could never be kept working.
Well, Office 2003's Outlook comes with it's own spam filter. It works, it's simple and it's unobtrusive.
The other programs have a nicer look and a few bells and whistles, but the upgrades I appreciate most are in Outlook.
"Review of Microsoft Pro 2003 Upgrade " Great product! Does everything I expected and more. I have been using this product on my home computer for over a year and knew that my office computer needed to be upgraded to this version.
"MISSING INFO" It would be nice if the contents were listed, with all of Microsoft's versions, it gets confusing.
"An improvement over Office 2000" The layout of Office 2003 is better than Office 2003, which has improved my efficiency. For those who spend all day working with the Outlook package, it's worth the money to upgrade.

What our customer's say!
"Mature, not senile", Yes, it's true, NEW is almost always better, greater, more powerful... however no one ever will ever realise your CV, thesis, Ph.D. or whatever you're going to do is done with one or more version behind. It's still as powerful as it had been some time ago and differences may be marginal for what you have in mind, however it runs at lighning speed compared to the most up-to-date version. Plus, most if not all bugs got fixed! Apart from that, there's little to say about the leading office package - it's just perfect for almost everything you ever want to do, and some things you have to do.
"Excellent Enhancement to Microsoft Office 2000", I really like this version of Office. There are many new enhancements that make it much more efficient and user friendly.
"Microsoft Office 2003 Basic", This is a perfect office suite for those who don't need all the new stuff that is available in office 2007. Outlook appears to be working great without some of the hang-ups in earlier additions. Probably more stuff in here than most people need, but it is easy to use and has some great enhancements.
"Microsoft Office 2003 Upgrade", I am very pleased with the product - I had trouble with my system and Microsoft tech support was outstanding on helping me solve the issues.
"MS Office Pro Upgrade - upgrade from what?!", The major flaw with this product is that it's not clear which version of Office you can upgrade FROM. Note: It does NOT work with Office SBE!!
Various sources say various things, even the Microsoft site isn't helpful.

"2003 Upgrade", For me the upgrade was a great thing. There had always been things about Office XP that just didn't work right. After the software was loaded, indeed I had some configuration issues. It worked, but it wasn't slick. But Microsoft Help stepped in. The software support guy took control of my computer using net-meeting and looked at all the configuration issues. Turned out to be some conflicts with my virus protection (I've had these before, P.N.) and with some Microsoft add-ins. Point is, he made the conflicts go away. Microsoft "help" has been a sometime thing, in the past. Today, it rose to the top shelf. I am quite happy with Office 2003.
"Don't even think about upgrading", You need to get out more. Just the fact that you are looking at this page and are thinking of upgrading your Microsoft Office makes it clear that you have a problem. Don't believe the Microsoft advertisement featuring dinosaurs to announce "Microsoft Office Has Evolved." It hasn't. This is a mature product. It doesn't matter if you use Office 1997, 2000 or 2003. They are all the same. The good, the bad and the ugly. It is all still here. Maybe a few bugs have been fixed. Most haven't, and ther are always new bugs. If Microsoft took the time to really improve the software, that would be one thing. But they don't.
Here is an example. You are in Outlook. You call up a contact and want to send that person a letter. You need to print an envelope, but there is no command to do so. There is no button to click. You can't right click anywhere to print an envelope. I am not making this up. Outlook has been out for almost ten years and multiple upgrades, and Microsoft still hasn't gotten around to implementing functionality to print a single envelope. Your only option (the on-line support confirms this) is to perform a mail merge. This is an elaborate process that is designed for printing thousands of envelopes for a bulk mailing. It involves opening multiple windows and setting all sorts of settings. You have to go through the ENTIRE PROCESS just to print a single envelope! What is more, the mail merge feature has bugs in it. It leaves blank lines in addresses that look atrocious, and it drops country names from addresses. It gives you options as to how you want country names treaed in addresses, but these all do nothing. Whatever option you select, Outlook leaves countries out of addresses when it prints envelopes.
I could go on, but I won't. If you are using Office 2000 or even Office 1997, you aren't missing out on anything. There is absolutely no reason to shell out $250 for new software that does all the same things in all the same ways with mostly the same bugs.
"Great Product ", Well, what can I say bad about this product? Nothing! Great utilities and it would take years to learn them all. I don't use word for web creation because I use dreamweaver. I find that MS writes too much extra code on html pages. The best feature of woed is the styles menu for formatting long documents. A very competent programmer enlightened me about this years ago and I have more efficiently created long documents in word than in word perfect, which I stopped using years ago.
"Office 2003", This Version seems to work better than the last version I had been using for some time. Nice improvement.
"gets the job done", I was having problems accessing files which were being sent to me while I was still using Office 2000. The purchase and installation of upgrade has solved the problem.
