"never made a bad crimp!", I have yet to make a bad crimp, so it works! I love the ratcheting action too, it gives a very professional response when crimping, not flimsy like the $2 crimpers.

"Durable and do what they are supposed to", Good crimpers. Do what they are supposed to.

One thing to know is that the razer for cutting off the very ends of the cord is very sharp. This is very good because it doesn't bend the tips, but cleanly cuts through the. And continued cutting through them after 20+ cuts.

"Hasn't failed me yet.", It works well as a crimper. I've never had a connector fail yet. As a jacket stripper it could work in a pinch, but you have to push the cable into the blade because the groove is too big and it tends to nick the conductors. Not a big deal as I bought a separate stripper. Don't expect to get by without buying a separate stripper yourself unless you only plan on doing a couple connections.

"No problems, works just like it should. Seems very durable.", I am not a professional and do not use this crimper everyday, but for light use here and there I am completely satisfied with this tool. I have used it to do both 6 and 8 pin plugs and it works fine on both. I have not used the wire stripping feature, though.

The ratcheting mechanism on it seems kind of useless and is difficult to get to stay in the locked position, but it's really not a necessary feature anyway.

Would highly recommend, especially for the price.


"Great Buy!", This is a great product to cap your cat5 cables. I make cables everyday and you will like the speed of this tool as an all in 1 item. I go through usually 1 a year. Keep in mind that I use this tool ALOT! This tool should never cost you over $20.00. You will like the sturdy structure of this tool.

"Turned me into a wiring DIVA!", I have a home network with network cable going from the upstairs dsl router to downstairs bedrooms. The clip had broken off the end of the longest cable that connects to my web server years ago. I could continue to push it into the network card and get a connection, but in the past week or two it would not make a connection any more. The wire is run down through the house so I could not just take the wire to my local computer store geek to have the connector replaced. The last time I had to have a local call the service call was a minimum call of $80.00 + time. I have been a computer programmer for 12 years and have repaired and built my own computers for over 20 years but network wiring has always been out of my realm of expertise. I purchased this tool from Amazon with free shipping (along with the Belkin RJ45 plugs). I followed the easy to follow instructions on the package, carefully took my time to get the wiring correct (mine was A) and fixed it myself for a total of $21.00! I also fixed another couple cables I had retired due to broken plugs. Saved me $59.00 right out of the package.

The tool seems sturdy, I did not try the wire stripping part, I used my precision wire cutters. It was just what I needed to get my web server back online with 100 mb instead of wifi. Thanks Amazon for fast shipping as usual!

"Great Tool great price!", This tool is simple to use and makes excellent connections the first time you use it. I would suggest the TRENDware CABLE TESTER 10/100 COAX & TP ( TC-NT2 ) along with this purchase to check out your connections to complete the job correctly. You will not be sorry you purchased these items prior to the start of the job to get it done right the first time.

"Can't beat it for the price!", I've done a fair amount of wiring in my time, and I've used many different crimpers.

While this is by no means the best I've used, it is certainly better than any other crimper I've seen for less than $40.

You wouldn't want to buy this if you're making cables every day, but for (re)wiring your house and making some patch cables every now and then, this is a great tool and the quality is excellent for the price.

"Not Reliable", The cutter is not convenient since it will cut through the cable. The crimp is also not always reliable or else the connectors I purchased from the same company don't work (3 of 4 did not work)

"Strippers a little tricky to use, but crimps right the first time", I've only made about 30 connections with this tool so far, but can say that the crimp portion of it works VERY well and very reliably - so far, not one bum crimp! The stripping tool is a little tricky to use, however; I frequently find myself chewing up the conductors inside when I use it.
