"Not our favorite TLBT movie.", We gave this to our 4 year old for Christmas.
My son loves the Land Before Time movies but got up several times during this movie. It didn't seem to keep his interest throughout??
I, personally, didn't love the storyline in regards to Littlefoot finding his long lost father, then making the decision to not go with him. At the same time, I wouldn't want him to leave behind his grandpa but it just didn't feel good either way.
So, 3 stars because I feel there are better TLBT choices!


"Spoiler--Little Foot Meets Dad!", This movie is great! I've always been curious about Littlefoot's dad. Now, I know something about him. This is a tale of acceptance, growth, belonging, and friendship. James Garner is my fave voice talent. Keifer Sutherland I was abiguous about at first, the writing saw him through, however. I'm giving this to my neice and nephew.

"Perhaps the weak link in the series", This movie, which was my least favorite, is centered around Littlefoot and all longnecks who go on a quest to answer questions about a mysterious dream they have. All longnecks feel the dream tells them they must arrive somewhere to save the world from something (which I won't spoil). In the end, Littlefoot and the longnecks complete the task they set out to perform. Littlefoot gets a suprise when he meets his long lost father. Littlefoot must make the difficult choice of joining his father and leaving his friends (who follow Littlefoot on his quest) or stay with his friends and grandparents at the Great Valley.

"The Land Before Time X", This is a great series for kids! Very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend to others.

"Adventuring...", I may sound awful saying this, but I liked it better when I thought Little Foot's father had died (like Cera's mother did in the first movie, but it was never spoken of). For one thing even after finding Little Foot he cared more about looking after his herd than his son, that just didn't seem right to me.

Rather than move his herd to the Great Valley the writers just had him go off into the sunset, only to 'visit' later:P.

I know Little Foot is happier with his grandparents but one thing they never say is that they are so old they may die before Little Foot is grown up which would make it all the sadder that his father isn't there...

I guess all and all 'real world issues' do not go well with the LBT world, since male animals leave their mates to raise the young all the time in real life.

But I am a fan of the first movie more than anything.

Even though this is one of the better spin offs it does not come near what the first one was and cheapens Little Foot's mothers death by going so far as to mimic lines from the first movie:P

"Can't make up my mind.", For once, I'm not writing a bad review about LBT. My mom bought this for me as a present for a report card. When I watched it, This one really touched my heart. I just found out that I had a father as well and this whole thing actually had happened to me. This is the only good review that you are going to see out of me.

"Best of all", This was the best movie out of the whole series in my opinion. The song Best of Friends was awesome.

"The best one ever! by The Z", This is the best one ever! Especially, Littlefoot's singing voice on "Adventuring". We finally see Littlefoot's dad and a mischevious new charactor named Shortie. Littlefoot and Shorty kinda get off on the wrong foot but when Littlefoot asks Shortie to be his brother, that makes Shorty realize that even though he was first, that doesn't make him more important than Littlefoot. The best part of this epiode was the song "Best of Friends" Who knew Cera had such a amazing singing voice! However, their are some bad parts. For starters, "Me and My Dad" was really boring because we didn't hear Littlefoot's Dad sing or Pat or Sue even though she goes home with an longneck bigger than her! Pat is allowed to come to the great valley which doesn't really improve the story because rom my perspective, he makes himself look dumb as a dorrknob sometimes. Sue doesn't improve the story either because she may seem sweet but she gets only a little spotlight and I think she deserves some credit for at least saving Littlefoot. But even worst though, Shorty leaves! His attitude and Humor would make a super important asset of the gang. Why couldn't the herd just die? I don't understand why when Littlefoot's dad and Shorty could just leave and let the herd elect a new leader? It not fair one bit! This one as I said before was the best one ever!

"Whyyy..", How could you, Don; Stephen? HOW could you slaughter something so beautiful as the first Land Before Time? I, alike many, own the original on DVD. It was honestly the only one I would buy regardless of the many chapters that surrounded me from all sides, all because they are painful to watch. Why are they painful? SONGS.EVERY.THREE.SECONDS. I honestly cannot stand it and as far as the chapters go, I watched up until The Mysterious Island before I finally lost my faith - but not my love. Fully aware that the rest are meant for children to aide them to grow and to share and to cherish life with every waking morning but why did they slaughter each and every individual character? Sharp-tooth was my ultimate favorite until suddenly one day: "Lets Hug the Carnivore! - Don't Worry, He's Friendly!" I almost fainted, not with relief but shock. He (in speaking of the rex) had always been viewed as an evil and somehow, suddenly, he's friendly!? Someone, aside pointing the obvious of 'its for children!' please explain this... I am in dire need. But aside the point of how the series is dying, I want to both buy this and at the same time - ignore it. A) When I was a child, I always wondered about Little foot's father. What happened to him? Was he killed, did he abandon his mate? WHAT!? Buying this, may answer my questions but I at the same time, do not want to be disappointed. B) Reasons stated above of its obnoxious stature that it had somehow fell victim to.

"Does a repetitiveness really make a child happy?", It's amazing that this series has last as long as it has. Kids seems to adore it and look forward to each video. My newphews, who are 6 and 7, grew very tired of it after the third movie (My sister was very relieved) They love the first one and watch it frequently and often play act it out. Its true that is much more scary and dark next to the cute and tame sequels. The first movie not only has a bit of violence and it deals with the loss of a parent (which my newphews had to deal with in real life) and the ever present bully everyone had to deal with in school. In the end the characters put aside their differences as they fight against the odds to find true happiness. Even though some parents think the first movie is too intense, it will grow on kids as they get older and stays with them. That's why I actually rented on the first sequel when it came out when I was twelve because I loved the first one so much since I since I was in third grade. I'm twenty-one now and they're still coming out, man! The sequels are great for kids under seven. If you don't want to give them repetitive, low luster stories to demand over and over when they are at such an influential age, give them something that might stick and interest their minds a bit.
