"Best Simpsons Game Ever! -But Not Perfect..."
With that back-handed compliment I bring you my 2 cents on The Simpsons - Hit n' Run.

First off, I am a HUGE Simpsons fan. I love (and still love to this season) the show. It's not at its peak but its still damn funny.

OK, keeping that in mind, I laughed my butt off at this game. There are so many hidden gems all over Springfield that you can play this game for hours on end.

The story was written by Simpsons' writers and it shows. It has all nine of the voice actors from the show which gives this adventure an authentic feel.

Many reviews here have "debated" about this being a kiddy version of the GTA games: I am one that says it is. Now I'm not saying that you go around and shoot people, because there are no weapons in this game unless you include the cars you run things and people over with. Its fun cartoon violence if you have to call it "violent".

The settings are identical to the show. Its a polygon version of a two-demensional world and it looks great. The sound affects are perfect and of course the acting is hilarious and true to the characters.

The car selection is amazing! Most of the cars are from the show but the new ones are terrific as well. All have different stats and cost.

Now for the negatives:

Repetitiveness. A lot of this game involves racing. Over and over. It can get a tad bit boring but they are fun.

Controls. You can use a joystick/pad and it helps but sometimes the control can be very clunky and frustrating.

Money. It's one thing to have a system of buying cars but there aren't ANY missions where you get paid! The only way to get money is by destroying coin boxes and destroying Wasp-cams. When you don't have enough doe you have to go around town and destroy things! Not that that's a bad thing, but the "Hit n' Run" them means that if the damage meter goes to FULL you get chased by the cops and they fine you. So all that work is for nothing.

Unlocked game. It's basically a Simpson's version of "Super Sprint". It's annoying to play and dull.

Camera angles. This is the BIGGEST ISSUE. Exceptionally ANNOYING camera angles. The automatic movement of the camera goes all over the place and makes playing the game EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING (hence the CAPS). You can have the mouse look function on but it won't move properly if youre using a joystick. Urgh.

Overall its a fun game to play and a funner game to laugh at. If the QA guys gave the game another look before releasing it they would've fixed all these annoyances and they would've had a great game in its place!

PS: Oddly enough for a driving game: There are NO SIGNAL LIGHTS anywhere in the game! That's Springfield for you! D'oh!

"Fun Game for Many"
This game has got it all, man! With 5 different characters and 7 levels, you won't want to stop playing, whether using the computer or Playstation 2. My personal favorite parts of the game are running over people and destroying cars. Don't get crash-happy, though, because your wanted meter will go up a lot. Overall, I think any Simpsons viewer would really want this game, no matter what age they are.

when i got this game i thought it was going to be boring like the other simpsons games , but I was wrong. the best thing about the game is that if you have enough money you can go and buy some new clothes. Like you can change lisa into cool lisa or bart into bartman, or marge into jailed marge and homer into evil homer. I really like playing bart's missions. After you beat the game you can go to anyone of the stages and you can explore Springfield. you can go into the simpsons house to the Kwik-e-mart , the comic book shop and any where else.

This is one of the best games ever, however not as good as Max Payne

This is THE worst electronic game ever written.

Oh sure, I've played a lot of (beep) games in my life. Realmz, Guest, Streets of SimCity, The Sims, You Don't Know Jack, Lemmings: Revolution, Super Nisqually, Toon Twister 3D, CroMag Rally and the old-fashioned Super Collapse (#1)! But nothing can ever top The Simpsons Hit & Run. Even a programmer who had made no games would have a hard time writing one as bad as this.

I can come up with 10 things I hate about this game:

1. They show little movies and don't let you skip them.
2. There are less than 5 kinds of different missions.
3. Painful's the kindest thing to say about the missions. They give you so little time to do ANYTHING. Your opponent is given the benefit of Super Suspension, making his vehicle much faster. The programmers will do everything they can to make sure U lose!
4. The animation is boring--the direct same as The Simpsons: Road Rage.
5. No original lines of dialogue--and Homer's lines have cursing in them.
6. When you try to break through the glass, you have to go really fast, otherwise you will fall through.
7. The camera is frequently framed as if it weren't sure where it was.
8. If you lose the missions, you can press the "No" button when it asks "Do You Want To Try This Mission Again?" only to have you redo it.
9. I own a Gateway computer and so did not having trouble installing; however, the installation on other computers sounds absolutely agonizing.
10. This is probably the worst part of all: At the end of the game, a hypnotic symbol comes up telling you to think that everything about the game was a grade up from not only Bart vs. the Space Mutants but also Virtual Springfield and yes, The Simpsons: Road Rage, thus making U think that it is the best Simpsons game of all time. Thank god electronic games don't have a user rating at the IMDB.com or else this game might be in the Top 250, with The Godfather and Se7en and countless others.

Anyway, whenever I hear Vivendi Universal's name mentioned I retch. Universal should feel some contamination or at least embarassment for their association with this garbage. If there is a worse game, I don't want to know.
