"White", After I started the game Everything was In BLACK AND WHITE! also it would not let me move around anywhere besides that screen.

"good game", I think it is a good game to have fun with, but one thing that dissapoints me is if you hit an icberg, Rock, run aground or get attacked by the giant squid your ship sinks right away. I would like it better if you could see the obstacle ahead, here a bump, grinding noise or something, inspect the damage and see the leaks, see the water flooding into the ship, seeing where the water is, seeing the ship slowly become submerged, see the list the ship has developed, maybe even have compartments with watertight doors and be able to stay afloat with the first two flooded, sound a siren, launch the lifeboats, see the completely flooded decks underwater, maybe even see the ship break in two when it sinks, give the order to abandon ship, see how deep the water is it has sunk in, send out SOS calls, see how much time there is before the ship sinks, explore the wreck later in a submersible. That would be way better if Cat daddy games made it that way. I would be so happy if they did!

"Don't Embark on this Shipwreck of a Game", Now, don't get me wrong; the game has a great concept and will appeal to all cruise - vacation lovers immensely, which I, myself am. While the game did APPEAL to me and I desperetley wanted to take it for a spin, I quickly found it to be perhaps the most boring and pointless thing I spent my hard earned money on.

To start, the game offers you absoloutely no control over what the rooms look like. Unlike classic sims, such as Hotel Tycoon or The Sims, which give you every option to customize your rooms to your liking and make your dream come true, Cruise Ship Tycoon sadly doesn't. You simply pick the type of room you want, select one of the bleak, unoriginal and limited styles of the type of room previously highlighted and place the room down in an availabe area. You have no jurisdiction over anything, and all cruise ships you create become repetitive and boring. This adds to the limited replay value.

The game offers you three modes: Instant Action (which you can hardly call "action", as the game offers no action whatsoever and it will be over before you begin it), Challenge Mode and Career Mode. In Instant Action, you have the ability to experiment with the games limited controls and basic interface. Basically, you can build a cruise ship and sail it. Woop-De-Doo! In Challenge Mode the game throws at you a few missions with no "challenge". Thus, it's easy to breeze through these in no time at all. Sadly, I did not get to "Career Mode, becasue I was so bored with the product I couldn't get myself to play the whole game but I am sure I got the jist of it from the other two modes!

The only positive thing I can say about this game is that there are a nice variety of ports, and I was happy to see that it featured the island that I live on; Bermuda.

The game is basic. Basically bad. For a frequent cruiser, I should know what components would go into a great tycoon for this genre. Very dissapointing CatDaddy. You missed 90% of what elements would make an extremely memorable tycoon.

"Fun Game", This game is very, very fun game. One suggestion = before buying the game, e-mail or contact your computer company and ask them if the game will work with your computer. Otherwise, it is the funnest game I have every played. I could play it for hours and I wouldn't get board.

"I wish I had read all the reviews!", This is probably one of the worst sim games I have played. I can't seem to get into the action for more than 5 minutes or it will crash. But the game is so boring, maybe 5 minutes is all I could take anyway.

"AWFUL GAME", This game sounds fun, of course it sounds fun to build a cruise ship,but this is not fun. I was bored with it long before the night was over. One problem is that it can seem like a total waste of time because you have to watch the map and if you run into a disaster, your ship will sink and you have to start all over. You can also not change your route after you have choosen it, you have to just go around in circles.

This does not measure up to roller coaster tycoon or the Sims at all. There is not much to do with it.

"Worth the price... and nothing more", Yet another budget tycoon game. But since this is my favourite genre I went out and bought it.
The game has a nice (though simplistic) interface that would have left a good impression - if I was 8 years old. Besides its interface simplicity, the graphics work out fine as long as you keep in mind that we are talking about a budget tycoon game.
The gameplay starts out as fun: build rooms and facilities for your guests and crew, sail out and watch the little people interact with the facilities and with each other.
But that's where all the fun ends!
There are limited building options and no real issues that need your attention during the cruise. Remember how (since Theme Hospital and Sim Tower) there's an issue that very frequently needs your attention in Tycoon type games? From a traffic jam, to a little persion misbehaving, to an opponent buying somthing you need, to adding more elevators?
Well there are things like that happening, but build a new janitor room, hire 2-3 extra janitors... and that's it! Problem solved! Oh, and don't worry about the costs... I can't seem to find a way to increase my expenses proportionally to my income... My next try will be to replace ALL guest rooms with Health Centers (fully staffed)!
As for the competition, your opponents are nothing more than a single line with the size of their ships and their income. "Linear, simplistic and uninspiring" is actually a compliment for the game's storyboard...

and that's about it!

All in all, if you're a tycoon buff like me and have to own and try ALL the tycoon games out, it's a good bargain.
If you're new into tycoon games, below the age of 12 and desperately want to try something simple, try it.
If you don't belong to the above categories, look around for other tycoon/simulation titles.

PS. I didn't forget the Sound... The developers obviously did.

"To the person who wrote the review below:", A person reviewing the game below said that one of the bd points was that it took ages to fill decks with rooms.

In fact, there is a shortcut to make building rooms quicker.
If you hold down the shift key, you can build a room multiple times, just like in Zoo Tycoon.

"Ok Most people think this is a horrible game....", When I got this game as a present I thought OH awesome...BUT WHEN YOU START BUILDING THE ROOMS...YOU HAVE TO DO THEM ONE AT A TIME (UNKLINE ZOO TYCOON WHERE YOUR BUILING A FENCE AND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CLICK OVER AND OVER TO BUILD ONE) On this for each tiny room you have to click on the bar click on the rooms and click on the room you choose to buy! It takes like 15 seconds to do that alone and then you have to do that about 25 times to fill up a deck. The Game itself is OK I mean you get to stir the boat and look at he craxy people on board and even throw em' over board if you don't like em'! There is another horrible thing You loose your monry really Fast You started loosing a ton of money just buy building rooms... I personally would not reccommend this. unless you don't care about money, time, or stuff, I olay this game when I am bored....
