"Not that bad" I know when Invisible War came out there were issues. Yes it does not live up tho the original, and hopefully there will be a 3rd in the series. But in 2007 with the proper computer system, and its price it's, a solid game.
"A Gem" Ion Storm went out of business, but you can still get this great game for next to nothing. Note: this is NOT a FPS, nor is it an RPG. It's an adventure game. I know fans of the original Deus Ex (it's an amazing game) bash this game for streamlining the character ability system, but I simply take this game on it's own merits. Game sequels are hit or miss, and in this case, depth was sacrificed for a little more flash - and even Deus Ex fans will grudgingly acknowledge there was no way to follow that game up... so, the graphics are showing their age, to be sure, but the story, voice acting and music certainly aren't(fantastic soundtrack). This is a thoroughly fleshed-out game world, and the joy of it is trying different tactics to resolve situations. Flip-flopping between different loyalties in the game doesn't amount to much in the way of opening up new options, but it doesn't shortchange you either. That's a design aesthetic you'll either like, or you won't. I give this game high marks for atmospheric detail. It's a game I can always go back and fire up one more time and still get a kick out of.
There is a free version 1.2 patch online that I highly recommend.
"I was disappointed..." Yeah, this really suffers form Consolitus... Meaning while developped along side a console version alot of the game and it game play stem from optimization for a Consol rather then a PC. Pick one or teh other then port over guys...
"A Cult Classic" Although not for everyone, DE: Invisible War is a great game. It has a storyline that goes deep and a world that is quite interesting. It is a bit far-fetched for some, but if you enjoy a good scifi story you will enjoy this game. The only major con that comes to mind is that the loading times are sometimes a bit long, if you can get over that you will have a lot of fun. In reality: 4.5 stars
"Best Game Yet" When I baught this game I thought it was going to be just like part one of this game. But I was truly surprised by just how much better it is. I found it to be more thrilling than part one and I am able to do a whole lot more with it. I would totally say to get it while you can before it is gone. I believe you will enjoy it just as much as I have so far to date.

What our customer's say!
"Eidos and Ion Storm ruins an impossible to ruin sequel.", Deus Ex 1 was perfect and still stands as one of the best games ever (if you can overlook the outdated graphics). How did they go wrong with this? They had the perfect blueprint from the original game and screwed it all up by dumbing the gameplay down for a simultaneous console release (even after Warren Spector said he wouldn't dumb down the gameplay).
The environments are much smaller this time around, damage system is lousy (at v. 1.0, a hit anywhere on an enemy did the same damage).
My biggest gripe is the original was a very realistic Scifi FPS with meticulous ammunition management and yet in the sequel we get universal ammo and weapons that don't even need to be reloaded. It's like they're stepping backwards.
Another cruddy element is the idle stance the characters have. It doesn't look natural. Every character when idle stands like a 3D character that hasn't been rigged yet with their arms a foot from their sides.
The music was yet another step back for the series as well. There were no memorable themes (aside from the title and opening movie) and they ditched dynamic music which I loved in the original game (when you snuck around unnoticed, one song played, and when you were in combat, another higher tempo and more action packed variation segued in).
Finally, it's a minor element, but I also miss the camera bob from the original game. It made the camera movement feel more natural and once again is a step backwards for the series. I hope Eidos is paying real close attention to these negative reviews when they develop DX3.
"Take this bio-mod to the trash bin", This game is terrible in every way possible. The graphics actually take a step backward from the first Deus Ex. The RPG element that was so great in the first game was hacked into pieces for this game, making it nearly unplayable. The plot is perhaps one of the worst I have ever encountered. The maps are small, which means very little exploring.
Overall, this game is not worth the box it comes in. I am very disappointed that Eidos would slap together a game like this and unleash it on the public. Shame on you Eidos. We know you are capable of so much more!
Deus Ex Invisible War = Terrible = Buy Deus Ex Game of the Year Edition.
"DEus ex: invisible war", well this game is an awseom game, ive palyed it b4, but for sum reason the dvd version dosnt like to update the game files...
"Not Quite as Good As the 1st Game", This was a fun game, all though it wasn't as good as the first game. ( which by the way if you haven't played it you are missing out on one of the GREATEST GAMES EVER !!!) Ion Storm did make the game a little easier...for example one ammo fits all...but I was put off by some of the blurry settings..nanite swell 11????? made it difficult to really explore those areas. All in all considering the price...less than $5.00...a very nice game to play & re-play.
"Second only to the original Deus Ex", When I read about the previews to this new Deus Ex, I was skeptical. I really thought it was going to be a dog. But, being such an extreme fan of the original, I was still looking forward to how it would be. I was especially irked by the removal of the skill system, a system that I thought made the game more like an RPG instead of just a first person action adventure game. After I played it, I was very impressed. It looks graphically stunning, has even more player freedom than the first Deus Ex, and even more endings. I loved playing through this game. It is a bit easier than the first one, but still squarely in the right range of difficulty to maintain my interest, but not make me too frustrated that I get killed in the same area over and over.
In the final analysis, this is a spectacular game much like the first, but the original Deus Ex is still my favorite game of all time.

Read this reviews before You buy...
"Great FPS with intriguing story line", I've played through Deus Ex IW at least three times and every time is as much fun as the first. Especially since you can have three different endings. It has an interesting story line and some good weapons. I like the sci-fi aspect concerning bio-modification. It adds something extra to the game.
I had no installation or game-play issues. Everything works well on the high end settings. Tried to play through Deus Ex, but the graphics suck and I'm too spoiled with the new gen game engines and graphics that I probably will never finish the first game.
Deus Ex IW is one of my favorite FPS games.
"Not a true sequel", The differences between Invisible War (which hereafter I'll refer to simply as 'IW') and its predecessor are staggering to those who played and loved the first game, which makes it nigh on impossible for Deus Ex fans to enjoy this. Their loss, because this is still an extremely entertaining romp through the leather-obsessed near future, and if you can approach IW as an individual game rather than a sequel then you will not be disappointed.
The game takes place in a dystopian world, a conspiracy theorist's wet dream. Throughout the course of the story you'll have the opportunity to discover all the factions and play them off against one another, being able to choose to show your true allegiance or keep your motives shrouded to the characters you encounter. As a cybernetically-enhanced agent, you can 'upgrade' your physical attributes with bio-mods, picking which to concentrate on and through that channelling your playing style down a specific route, a familiar concept to any RPG player.
Getting down to the basics, the modified Unreal 2 engine still looks pretty today and can let off some impressive lighting effects. Your interaction with the world is rather expansive - on the same level as Deus Ex; the dialogue and plot is not on the same level - although Deus Ex sometimes ventured into the realm of the grandiose it managed to maintain an engaging narrative and characterisation was improved by some talented writing, and IW is a few IQ points down on its older brother.
Nonetheless, IW has some reason to stand tall, for one I'm happy to say that combat is a very slick affair, not comparable with the newest and brightest stars of first person shooters but more than adequate, a trump card over its predecessor's clunky approach.
To someone who has never played Deus Ex, or to someone who is content with starting IW without a multitude of hopes and preconceptions, this is an immensely satisfying first person RPG that hits more than it misses, and will undoubtedly pull you in to its cramped but well made world.
"Frustration free installation and loading (i.e. free w/purchase)", Yeah, what a great game! I can see a new approach was taken by the developers. Lets' make a game that DOESN'T work! Listen, more than two and a half hours was spent getting the damn thing to install only to find that the game wouldn't even load. Yeah, even downloaded the V1.2 patch but to no avail. A consumer should NEVER have to hunt down solutions so painstakingly, and customize their computer's settings so specifically, to make up for a developer's SHODDY PROGRAMMING STANDARDS. If you've got some spare change, spare time and alot of spare patience; use it on something else and flush this log down the toilet.
If I were faced with a choice of two fates: 1) Entering a dark, damp, torture chamber filled with bloody instruments of medieval misery and agonistic screams of pain. Or 2) A pleasant, clean, looking room with mood lighting and soft jazz with a computer with this vile game in it...
I would choose the first. At least I'd know what to expect.
"Deus Ex: Invisible War", Good first person shooter. Story line has some references to story in Deus Ex. You should first play Deus Ex, if possible.
"Not bad, Not great either", You need a hefty computer to handle the graphics. I had turn the graphics to lowest and was still laggy. This games storyline requires you to play Deus Ex in order to understand it. Basically, get Deus Ex and forget about invisible war until you beat Deus Ex.
