"ruined by HORRIBLE "JOY"-STICK!!!"
This is a perfect example of a product that looks great in the store and completely STINKS when you take it out of the box and actually use it at home.

In theory, I love it: all my fave old games in one nice tiny package and oh so cheap!

In reality, the joystick is ABSOLUTE JUNK, and this is what ruins the whole gaming experience. The graphics and sound effects are very decent, but what's the point if the controls are constantly screwing you up? The joystick is totally sticky, random, imprecise and with a mind all its own. Even worse, there is no comfortable or effective way of using it since the bottom of the joystick is one big clunky square box housing the actual game console...maybe if you nailed the darn thing down to a wooden board with some U-brackets it might work, but holding it in my left palm while moving the joystick and fire button with my right was a biomechanical nightmare.

Also keep in mind that unlike the original Atari consoles that had AC adapters, these clunky all-in-the-lousy-joystick devices are battery operated...better invest in some rechargeable ones!

"almost replicas of the originals,but..."
...there's one drawback other than the behavior of the ghosts...SOUND! 3 of the games have inaccurate sound. Pac-Man's intro music is in a slightly lower key(I can tell, I take piano lessons). The eating sound isn't the best "wacka wacka" I've heard. Dig Dug's music is VERY different. Galaxian's sound is the same concept, but different sound. The ones I'm not sure about are Rally X and Bosconian. I've never seen the original versions. If you're not picky about sound(and what Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde do), enjoy!

"plug-n-play pacman"
the only weakness is the joystick action is not like the full size video game, but it works well enough to play a good game.

"beware"
I bought this for my young brother and it worked once, after that when he tried to play it it would work for about 2 mintues and then turn the TV fuzzy so u could not see it. Afterwards I found out this had happened to several people who had bought this item. If u buy i hope it works.

"Exactly What it says"
Ummm... There really isn't much to say. It does exactly what it says. Five games, all of them are good. Good battery life. However Dig Dug No longer has demo animations. But the games are all still fun and then controls are responsive. So who cares. It's good old nostalgic fun

What our customer's say!

"GREAT GAME FOR RETRO FANS", If you grew up in the 80s, this is a must-have. Easy to hook up, compact for traveling, simple operation. Only reason I didn't give it five stars is that it doesn't have Galaga, the greatest video game ever, and the reset button is awkwardly placed on the console, making it easy to accidentally reset in mid-game. Even so, it's a great product, especially for the cost.

"namco tv game", I have had this game in the past and it went up. I tried to buy it again from a seller on Amazon.com. Although Amazon.com is very reliable and cooperative, the seller that I tried to buy from is definitely not. I had to get a refund through Amazon.

"It's not the same, you won't relive your past", The version of Pac Man on this little unit isn't the good one you might remember. If you'll hark back to the Pat Benatar days, you'll recall there was a "fake Pac Man" that was released in the 80s. (The Pac Man itself was a little too round, the sound was off...something was amiss, yet many didn't notice. If you were a true afficianado, you noticed). Well, this fake one is the one that's shipped with this unit. And it's just as disappointing as it used to be. It's not the real pac man.

Also, the Rally X "radar screen" that was in the lower right in the real game is overlayed on top of the actual driving screen. Not good.

I think that Dig Dug fans will rejoice, however. It seems to look and work like the old one.

"Revival of my Inner 80s Geek", I fondly remember the video game arcades from my youth. Standing in front of those tall machines, staring at the monitors as Pac-Man™ gobbles his way around a maze of dots being chased by Blinky, Inky, Pinky and Clyde, shoving quarter after quarter into the narrow slot with the hope of one day breaking the high score. I must have spent at least $1,000 or more on those games while my brain cells slowly burned away in the electric blue glow. Ah, those were the days.

Imagine my surprise this Christmas when I unwrapped an odd gift from my brother: a joy stick that looked as if it had been ripped from one of those monstrous video games. A long black cable that split into two large colored plugs trailed from the back. Screen shots of Pac-Man™ and Dig Dug™ covered the panels, and I turned the package over a few times, trying to figure out what on Earth I would use a joystick for without a game console. My brother must have seen the confused look on my face so he leaned over and said that I plug the cable into my TV and presto! I could play 5 different video games.

I finally broke down and bought the 4 batteries needed to power it. I happened to glance at my VCR and noticed the two unused cable outlets on the front. The plugs fit perfectly, I turned on the TV and VCR then flicked the ON switch to the joystick and bingo! We have video game play!

The games resemble their arcade counterparts with a few changes -- reformattted to fit a TV screen, the villians move a bit faster, single-player games only. The graphics look almost exactly the same as if you were playing the games in an arcade. I spent the good part of last night and a few hours after arriving home from the office today playing Pac-Man™, Dig Dug™, Galaxian™, Rally-X™ and Bosconian™. My hands hurt a bit from the design of the joystick unit itself, and it doesn't lend itself to long-term play, but it is still a lot of fun. My inner 80s geek is reborn!

"Broke after 2 days!!!", Just got this for Christmas. The kids have been playing with it for the last two days and now the picture is messed up. It has all sorts of noise on it and you can't even see what you are doing. Total play time before it broke was probably about 12 hours. Will be trying to get a replacement since the kids love it. Hopefully, that one will last longer.

"A blast from the past!", This is my very first Plug n' Play game. I got it on my 13th birthday, and I love this just as much as my Sega Plug n' Play games. Here are the games:

Pac-man: Ah, yes, we all know Pac-man, the ever-hungry, almost circular guy. He'll eat most anything, even the ghosts that try to eat him.

Dig Dug: I "dig" this game! You play as a miner, and defeat the Pookas and Fygars. You can defeat them by overinflating them, or dropping heavy boulders on them.

Rallly-X: You play as a race car, and collect all the flags on the track, avoiding boulders, other race cars, and running out of fuel.

Galaxian: A game you play in space. Defeat the Galaxian empire and save the final frontier!

Bosconian: Another game you play in space. Destroy the green space stations 2 ways. Either hit the middle, or hit the green circles around them. The good thing about this game is that you can fire from the front and back.

Overall, this is a MUST HAVE for any Namco 80's addict. Mom and Dad will get a blast from their past, so be sure to show them the games!

"Good for the kids, not as good for the kid at heart.", If you are like me, you may recall playing these classics where ever arcade machines could be found. Kids will enjoy it in car trips, or just a great toy for baby sitters to occupy the children.

The adults will remember how they "snubbed" these classics in want of the better sequels. We passed over Pac Man for Ms Pac Man. Gave up Galaxian for Galaga, and ditched DigDug for Mr. Do.

Yes, the games are still good. You might want it just for the nostalgia. Heck, anyone who remembers the Pac Man fiasco of the Atari 2600 would have killed for this thing 20 years ago! But this isn't 20 years ago.

Worth having for several reasons, the games are fun, but don't expect recaptured youth for 20 bucks.

"Funny,But...........", This toy is very fun.The only thing is that if you drop it more than 3 times it will get messed up.Still I like this toy

"Good fun, but . . .", I have no real complaints on this game. Unlike, Ms. Pacman, it works---and I am happy with that. I won't get into all the games specifically (you can read them in other reviews). I will say the only downsides to this game are:

1. PacMan is a little more difficult than the arcade version. Yes, the Ghosts are faster and "smarter". But hey--everything is relative.

2. There is no stopping once you start. In other words, in each game, as you go from level to level--it starts immediately. It might sound "picky", but it would be nice to have a "Press Fire to Start" before each level. This way, you can catch your breath, grab a sandwich, or do whatever business you want before going to the next level. I know purist will tell you that in the arcade game, you were not afforded this luxury, but this is a "home version" and if they don't provide things such as entering your initials (and making dirty words out of it) :-) then it should have a pause function.

"Not Perfect But Still Fun", I remember playing all these games as a teenager in the arcades. So obviously I was thrilled when I saw this little package.

The graphics are very much like the actual arcade game. As others have mentioned, the games play a little differently than the actual arcade games. For example, the ghosts are much quicker and smarter in this version of Pacman, which sadly makes the games a little shorter for me these days.

But fortunately you don't have to keep pumping quarters into the video game machines anymore--you just hit the reset button and you can play over and over as often as you like.

WARNING: These games can be addictive. But another good thing is that once you grow tired of one, there are 4 more to choose from that will keep you hooked.
