"Good enough for the price"
I bought this turntable a few months ago and I'm satisfied by its performance. It has good sound and it's a good deal for its price.
Mine didn't come warped. It's obviously made out of plastic but then again, consider you won't be getting a classic Technics model for 70 dollars.

If you're starting collecting vinyl or you just want to listen to your old records without hassle, consider buying this turntable.

I just received my 1st Pyle PLTTB1 Turntable. It is the first because I'm giving Amazon a second chance to get things right. My guess is that they shipped someone else's reject to me as new.

The reason this one is being returned is that the plastic platter is warped. Using the calibrated eyeball and a steel scale, the max deviation from flat is about 1/8". I have difficulty believing that Pyle or anyone else would ship a turntable where the platter has more warp than my records.

As far as the rest of the unit, this is an all plastic unit nominally weighing 6.6 pounds (3kg), but I think this includes the shipping box. The rubber mat mentioned in the instructions has been replaced by a piece of black felt. While this is a novel idea, I would much prefer rubber. At least that way I could see the grit being ground into my records.

Is this turntable worth $70+? The last turntable I bought was a Denon 20 years ago so I have no idea what the current market value really is. I suppose it is worth what you pay if you keep it. The next one needs to be very good or it is going back as well.

It's cheap and it works. That's the most important thing. It doesn't have a robotic arm or autoloader, but it does play records and they sound great. Just remember, you need a phono input on your receiver, or a pre-amp to use this record player. Otherwise, the volume will be really, really low. My main receiver didn't have a phono amp, so I was a little disapointed, but a cheaper older stereo we had worked fine, and now I can listen to the few records I have without trouble. The unit itself appears to be very sturdy, and will last a long time.

The price was $69.00. The installation was straight forward; it took less that 30 minutes. The precision tone-arm balancing instruction was well written and the tone arm balanced quickly. The sound pick-up quality is very good.

For the money, this turntable is an outstanding value. Tone arm has anti-skating device and included Audio Technica cartridge provides very good sound and tracking.
Manual cueing device is easy to use and stroboscope keeps speed accurate.
Slight hum during play from belt drive but does not inflict itself on sound output -
only audible if you put your ear to the turntable. Dust cover is hinged for easy use.
Plays my old 33s perfectly without any skipping.
