"I demand a remake!"
Quiddich, though only imaginative, is an incredible sport in concept. I was practically compelled to buy the game because of visions I had of the possibilities there, even though the reviews were lackluster. Well, turns out people were right. The passing and shooting is oversimplified, the 3D element is completely absent, and its a little too easy to steal the quaffle (i.e. the ball.) The bludgers and beaters (bat-weilding players hitting heavy balls at enemy players) were handled fairly well. The vying for special moves by accomplishing certain goals in a match is a nice touch, but another reviewer hit a chord when they compared their vision of a Quiddich video game with Madden Football. Let players compete at Hogwarts, Club (Professional), or World Cup difficulty, and let them handle the recruiting and management of a team (or even let players you had at Hogwarts play on your pro club when you move to the next level.) Let the flying be more 3 dimensional, with the chance to play as any position all the time instead of just chasers, and you could have a game that redefines sports gaming. Right now, its just a cheap shot by E.A. Games at all us Quiddich dreamers out there. $10? Yeah, its worth about that much.

"For the wee ones"
I agree with most of the other reviewers here: This game was clearly designed for younger kids, with the fun, eye-candy set high and any possible frustration kept to a minimum. It's clear that EA Games just adapted a soccer-game engine, trying to minimize the three-dimensional nature of Quidditch. That, combined with the utterly predictable AI system, makes it possible for an adult player to WIPE THE FLOOR with any and all comers.

It's aggravating, really: It's not likely that there will be another version of this game made for adults with, say, an AI system worthy of the name. And EA games could have so easily created a workable 3D flying system--just use the usual WASD/three-button mouse controls from any first-person shooting game or else the independent-gravity flight engine from "Freelancer" or similar.

"Easy!!!"
When I started to play this game it seemed like a lot of fun. But after the same repetetive gameplay over and over, It started to get very boring. The game idea is good, but there is no altitude control, and it is just way too easy. It isn't worth playing the World Cup over again with the different team because it will just be the exact same thing.
I have never considered myself very good at sports games, but at this game, i can easily cream the other team 500 to 0.

"Lot's of fun"
QWC is the only Harry Potter game that you don't have to worry about the story. It is only Quidditch. I think that World Cup is frusterating, but Hogwarts is extremly fun. Some of the special moves are really creative. There is a lot of stuff that you have to work hard to get. However, the quidditch cards can be annoying.

"Pretty Good!"
Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup has great animations. You can play as Griffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Japan, Geneology, Hoodlums, Boxers, ect. It is crap

What our customer's say!

"Falls A Bit Short", After Deathly Hallows, I was HP-drunk, and when I saw this, there was no way I wouldn't buy it.

Overall, it was alright. For a first attempt, it wasn't bad, but there are definately improvements that could be made.

First of all, control is limited. While you control left and right, and have some control over your speed, you don't really control the third dimension. (Up and down)

Also, once you get the hang of it, gameplay is very easy. Too easy. We're talking I squished my opponent ten out of ten times. It's actually funner playing head to head against a friend, though scoring is sparse in those games.

If I could go back, would I buy it again? Sure. There are good aspects to the game, and if your a Harry Potter fan, you'll probably going to like it, and get at least a couple days of good entertainment out of Quidditch World Cup.

I really want EA to try again...

"Made a wonderful gift.", My nephew was looking for this in a PC release, and I found a new/sealed one here on Amazon:) He says its very fun and he is a tad older than the target age. His only complaints are the menu system.

"HPQWC: Good, could be better.", I wasn't very enthusiastic about this game, but when I got it for my birthday, I thought "What the heck, I'll play." It was a wee bit more than I reckoned for. In previous Harry Potter quidditch matches, you can only play as the seeker and it take a very long time doing nothing for anything to happen. Not here. You can play as chasers, beaters (Sort of) and seekers. The teams are fun, but Hogwarts is a bit easy and World Cup can get dull after the tenth match. This game could be better. For instance, you could control your keeper when the chasers are coming, since 99% of the time the keeper doesn't get there in time. You could also play as a beater and hit the bludgers continously, instead of this weird throwing stuff. The crowds look rather 2D and the environments (Especially US & England) get REALLY dull after a while. It would be cool if you could customize your pitches, plays and teams and have the teams have names (In quidditch through the ages, it talks about all kinds of teams. The Moosejaw meteors, the Montrose magpies, the Chuldy cannons, where are they?). Oh yes, I forgot something. This game ROCKS! It's extremly addicting, the controls aren't impossible to manage and the commentary is rather funny. The music isn't John Williams, but it's decent enough and the challenges are fun. A very good game, but can get dull after about the five-hundreth round.

"It could be better but...", This game is much fun to play. I like how they:

*let you choose what team you want to be on
*the settings for it vary which is nice also
*it is somewhat challenging when you first start to play it

BUT...THERE IS ONE BAD THING (I am sorry to admit). The game goes on forever and ever. I played until my team scored 999 points and I kept scoring but not getting any higher than that. You have to be in equal opposition to win the game and since I was getting all the points, it wasn't ending. In the end, you just kind of give up on it. This game IS GOOD, but it could be better.

"Amazing.", This game was amazing. Now, I have had little to no experience with the computer games of today, so I may be unexperienced with the standards of today, but this was quite possibly one of the best, if not the best, computer games I have ever played.

The graphics were amazing, just look at all those beautiful World Cup stadiums - so much glamour. Everything zooms past in a beautiful way, the graphics are never wasted.

The gameplay is simple, I sometimes find myself paying no attention to what's going on but watching the screen and pressing the keys like a robot.

The controls are amazingly simple, even if you don't have a NumPad. I have a laptop, with no NumPad, and I had to turn on NumLock to acquire one, and had to move my fingers around the keyboard, which was quite fun for someone who enjoys typing like me.

In my Num-Padded state, my NumPad controls were 7 (Combo Left), 9 (Combo Right), and U (Bludger Attack). Combined with the arrow keys and the mouse that's about a foot underneath my laptop, it gave quite a lot of fun zooming my hands around.

If you have a laptop and are a poor typist, this may not be the game for you. But if you are amazing with a keyboard, go ahead and buy this.

One regret of mine was that the World Cup droned on for 18 matches, and because you can't save during it then come back, you must do them all in one sitting.

So get up early in the day to do the World Cup matches, and do them with your wonderful typing skills.

The game itself was lovely. Everything was excellent and flawless, the gameplay was extremely smooth and simple to learn, the tutorials were quite entertaining, and the team uniforms were quite lovely.

I suppose this concludes my review. Buy this game, especially if you have a NumPad.

"Harry Potter Quiditch Easy World Cup", This game is kinda fun; in multiplayer. But the inadjustable AI level makes it to EASY. In perspective just unlock everything and then just play multiplayer.

BOTTOM LINE
Only buy this if you have relatives willing to play.

"Good, but could have been better!", I was so excited when this game came out because I thought it will be very fun just like how quiddich should be but after I tired it at home it was just okay to me. I don't know about you but I am a huge HP fan so I don't know why this game wasn't so appealing to me as I thought it would be. I like the graphics and stuff in this game but if I were you, I would rather buy the Harry Potter 1, 2 or 3 computer game instead of this one. I mean, they have quiddich in them too just not so much like this one. It really irrates your eyes when you stare at the screen for so long chasing the snitch.

It's a good game but could been better.

"An out of control game", This game is really fun and has good 3-D appearances, but sometimes when you are flying it sort of goes out of control. For example, you're flying up the field and you're aiming for the goal hoop opposite the keeper and you're about to shoot the quaffle through the hoop when you're player suddenly passes the quaffle towards the other team and the other team catches it without you controlling the pass. It just does it by itself. It can make you lose a game easily and instantly.

"Not what it could be", A friend of mine suggested that this video game wasn't very good because Quidditch was an invented game, not a real game, and so it hasn't had all the flaws worked out of it through practical experience the way soccer, basketball football and the like have over time. That may be true, but I think Quidditch could be a great game, but Electronic Arts just didn't put the effort into it that they could.

My biggest complaint is that Quidditch is clearly designed to be a 3-dimensional game with players able to fly right left, forward and backward, and up and down. In the video game, the up and down flight is automatic and out of the players' control. This really just turns it into a weird version of soccer which it shouldn't be.

The other flaw is in the AI. It's just too easy, and the opponents aren't good enough at the game. In all fairness, the game was designed for a younger age group and for younger kids it probably is close to the right difficulty to make it challenging but not frustrating. Electronic Arts could have spent more time on the AI and offered people a few difficulty levels to make the game more challenging for older players, or for younger players who succeeded at the easy level and wanted to keep playing with a new challenge.
If EA were to revisit Quidditch in the future, and they fixed the Up down element and made the opponents tougher, I'd be willing to try again before writing off Quidditch as a poorly thought out sport. I still think Rowling was on to a great idea with the game, it just hasn't been done right for gamers.

"What a game!", This game is so very fun. When I got this game, I couldn't stop playing it. The only way I got off was when my mom made me.
Here are the Pros:
1. The graphics are TIGHT!
2. You can play for Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw too.
3. I love the special moves.
4. The international stadiums are amazing.
5. You get to play as chasers and beaters too.
Here are the cons:
1. YOU CAN'T PLAY AS IRELAND.
2. GAMEPLAY IS TOO EASY.
Other than that, the game is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
