"Works well."
Bought this as a less expensive alternative for my Panasonic FZ50. Fits and works well. I had a Panasonic 1.5 converter I used with my FZ20 that I liked slightly better (more light gathering) but this lens works well.

"Olympus TCON Lens"
I purchased a telephoto for my Lumix at the same time I ordered the camera. I was disappointed with the results. Then I kept reading about this telephoto lens by Olympus and saw some side-by-side pictures of the difference. It is well worth the money. Does a great job.

I have a Panasonic Lumix FZ8 and wanted the tele-extender made by Panasonic for that camera. BUT the price...well, it was almost as much as the camera itself. I had read the opinions of others about using this Olympus version and they were very positive. I took the chance and couldn't be more pleased. Very sharp, though I don't know if the Panasonic is cheaper since I can't compare. And much cheaper.

The only downside is a minor one and that is the lack of filter threads on the end of the lens. Not a biggie - I can improvise, but it would have been a nice thing to have.

You must be careful about compatibility with your particular digital camera but this teleconverter works well with nearly all Olympus digital cameras and all Panasonic cameras manufactured before the end of 2005 (many others of all brands also but these are the ones I'm sure of). Note that you need an adapter in some cases. This item has 55mm threads. The only competitor generally thought to have slightly better quality is the Nikon TC-E17ED and it costs 4 times as much.

"A very good conversion lens"
This is a very good teleconversion lens. Since the lens has five elements, optical correction is high and images are sharp and accurate. I previously owned another teleconversion lens with only three elements and corner sharpness was less and color aberrations were noticeable. I believe this lens is very similar to several other models sold under Panasonic and Canon branding, but they are significanly more expensive. I successfully use the Olympus teleconversion lens with both a Panasonic Lumix FZ7 and a Canon A540.

Well constructed, the TCON-1.7X has 55mm threads to mate with a camera's standard lens mounting. If you don't have the same size thread, an inexpensive adapter ring (step-up or step-down) is required. Also, don't forget that your camera will probably require an intermediate ring/collar that attaches between it and the lens; most digital cameras have specific models at reasonable prices that fit perfectly.
