"Very happy with this mic"
The shipper got it to my door earlier than expected. the mic is great, I got a rebuilt one and it is as good as new. I dont have to struggle to talk right into the mic, it has a great range.

"Drivers missing"
Do not purchase this microphone unless you want a hassle installing it. As yet, I have not been able to get it to install with Windows XP including Service Pack II. I finally located the number of the microphone and see that installation problems date back a few years. A CD with the appropriate driver should come with this microphone. It did not. Look elsewhere.

"Works FINE under Vista (and Linux too)"
Contrary to what some reviewers have said, this microphone works just fine under Vista. If you have kept your Vista current with Service Pack 1 (SP1) and subsequent updates, you should have no problem. For the record, I am using Vista Home Premium with SP1 and all updates through June 5, 2008.

And a note for Linux users: My preferred operating system is Ubuntu, version 8.04. I can report that the Logitech USB mic works perfectly with this OS too.

I have used Audacity under both Vista and Ubuntu to make excellent recordings with this mic.



"Overrated"
After reading the reviews for this item I was excited to try it and was in need of a low-end microphone. I have one of headset ones and it has the same quality with LOTS of noise and poor recording. I compared it to the integrated one on my laptop and that one is better! It may be that I don't know how to mix things properly for sound recording. But I thought that based on all the comments that this would be a great, out of the box item that I could just plug in and use with any Windows program, Audacity, or other audio program. Terrible background noise no matter how far I am from it and what I do. It sounds like the person talking through the static on the TV in Poltergeist! I tried it on two computers to determine if the sound card made any difference. It did not.

Glad it was on sale, but not that I got it.

"Logitech Desktop Microphone", I took a chance on a reconditioned product. So far so good. Thanks Reforger for shipping quickly! Only one test so far in videoconference but my daughter noticed a definite improvement in sound quality.

"Microphone Check.", This microphone was simply plug and play. I run Windows XP HE and it recognized the hardward with no problems. The device works well with Audacity. The noise reduction worked well also because my daughter was playing in the background and the tv was on and neither came through in my recording.

"Just what I wanted...", Got it today, installed it on my Windows XP laptop, followed the instructions on volume adjustment and it's great. I then took it to my Windows Vista desktop and installed it, adjusted the volume per the instructions and it works great. When you receive the microphone, the volume may be set too low in your computer. You may need to go to the sound icon in settings to adjust up the volume to your liking. All in all a very sleek and nice microphone, worth every penny.

"Good Amazon supplier", Item was shipped promptly, and worked great. It was as described, and the price was reasonable.

"Logitech Desktop Microphone", I have purchased this product and found it has good quality sound. The setup installation was easy. I just plugged it into an USB port and tested it by making an audio file on my computer. Simple as that. All the instructions are given in the accompanying booklet. I also have a Logitech web cam and cordless mouse which makes me a fan of their products so to speak. Logitech USB Desktop Microphone

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Amazing Mic For The Price", Pretty much this is the best computer mic I've ever used. It has very clear sound, and it's extremely easy to use. It says it's mostly designed for talking and webcam communication, however i use it to record acoustic songs. If you have a quiet room, then the recordings almost sound professional. I would definitely buy this mic if I were you.

"good value", I found the microphone functions with good fidelity and no noise, but I had to speak closer to it than I had anticipated. I plugged the USB cord directly into my Mac Mini and it works fine. I like to use the free audio recording & editing program "Audacity" with it.

"Good, but not great", I have been using this microphone for the past two weeks for webchats on my G5 iMac. I was persuaded to purchase this item because of all of the positive reviews, and the fan on my iMac created background noise on the built-in microphone.

Although I like the design, the sound quality is not as good as I would have expected, and there is quite a bit of ambient sound picked up in recordings. Even when placed within 12 or so inches of my mouth, I would say that the sound quality is only marginally better than that of the built-in microphone on my iMac.

Although more convenient than a headset, my headset produces much better results.

"Great noise-cancelling clear mic", I had to turn the sensitivity to max, but this mic picks up clearly 20 inches away. I even have a loud fan in my room; I was impressed it was able to filter that out. I found it great for Skype and gaming. It sounds as good as any of the 4 other headsets/mics I've bought.

My only complaint is minor, the LEDs are kind of annoying. I'd rather have a physical switch than another thing on my desk that's glowing.

"Great gaming mic.", I haven't used this microphone for recording so I'm not sure of it's performance there. I have, however, used it for gaming and it carries my voice across clearly and has various sensitivity settings which is nice. Overall, I recommend this microphone!
