"Number 1 game!"
Trust me this game will rock you out this is the best i won 3 season

"great bargin"
I hate wasting 50$ on a new video game. Patience pays off, this game is now just 10$ , an incredible deal! The owner mode which lets you manage so much with your team is very cool, but can be very addicting as well. My sole complaint is the manual is not in color. C'mon EA sports you are super rich, give us some color dammit!

"nice"
This game allows you to to make your own team and take them far into the playoffs. the name never under or overestamates the players abbilities. Its more for your money.

"Madden 2004"
Madden is a good game. The graphics are good, every thing is set up nicely. However, the franchise is very confusing if u don't have enough time 2 really learn about it...Even then it's still a little confusing. It is very realistic, as you can sign players, cut players. You can also create your own teams.

I would give this game a B+ to an A- grade.

What our customer's say!

"Much better than 2003", Madden 2004 for the Pc is not much different from the console version. I can't say that the graphics are better or worse. Still, the graphics are pretty dang good.

Players - The players look great. From the tattoos to the weight, they all look different. I can tell the difference between a 300 pound lineman and a 180 pound reciever.

Uniforms - All uniforms are accurate and look slick. You can even see the little tiny holes in the jerseys. I can't remember if the uniforms get dirty or not.

Managing - You can manage all aspects of the game. From ticket prices to the price of hot dogs in the stands. But if you're having a poor season, don't expect many people to show up to the stadium.

Tackling - Only two player tackles, which sucks. Often times a third person runs up to make a tackle only to fall flat on his face. This is a major problem because sometimes he gets hurt when missing that tackle. Oh well, it's a step up from only one player tackles in the 2003 version.

Coverage - Don't play on the rookie setting because your recievers will
smoke the DB's. The computer player often plays soft on rookie, but when you bump the settings up a little it can be a challenge to get a pass off without getting it intercepted. You'll need to mess around with the setting sliders a little to get things even.

Passing - Compared to 2003, the passing game is awesome. When you rollout to pass, you perfectly plant your back foot and make an awesome throw. In 2003 it was wobbly when you threw the ball running and the mechanics wasn't right.

Running - Stiff arms, Jukes etc... But same thing as the covergae, you'll
need to mess around with the setting sliders to get things right. On the rookie setting you can gain 15 yards a pop, on higher settings they really stuff you at the line.

Other - Trade, sign, draft, retirements, camp, practice etc.. it's all here. I must say that I never could fix the sliders just right to make it completely realistic. And that's 3 years of trying to do so. But it's fun if you like great graphics and managing every aspect of a football team.

"An excellent choice", I thought this game was excellent. Fun and challenging with plenty of options. Worked fairly well with our Windows 2000 but the turf style made a difference to play quality, with natural turf being the worst and artificial turf the best. Create-A-Team and Player have plenty of options. I thoroughly enjoyed Mini-camp and two minute drills. The Franchise feature is very enjoyable but problems can occur during off season simulation. Amazon's service was good. I found this game very enjoyable and thoroughly reccomend it.

"Excellent game.", Madden 2004 is a great game for the average EA Sports fan. There aren't many flaws and Madden is great with his commentary. The stadiums are of high detail. The gameplay is great. Sometimes it won't load. If you have run a different program before you play it, odds are it won't load either at the beginning or the end. I like the trophy presentation at the end of a victory in the Championship game or the Super Bowl. It's a great game with excellent commentary from Madden and Al Michaels.

"A bad game", this game was just not fun. Madden jabbering the same lines over again was plain annoying[they didn't even make sense]! The game just got boring! You played a game and could not play it for the rest of the day! It just shuat me off[most of the time].

"Improved over 2002, but...", Okay, I'm cheap. I admit it. I tend to purchase Madden Football when it goes down to $9.95 and this product is awesome and is bringing me hours of fun for a low price.

I played on 2002 for several years and grew tired of it.

The good news about this game, and I say this from a person who plays in Coach mode:

The passing game is greatly improved. 2002 had quarterbacks with very low passing percentages. 2004 is a lot better.

The running game is better. In 2002 you almost had to restrict how often you ran, it was too easy. It's a bit more difficult in 2004, but, unlike so many other games, you can still generate a running game.

They give you a greater ability and more options in creating your own unique team.

But....

Stadium graphics are iffy. Sidelines vanish and such. Annoying for such a graphics intensive game.

I'm finding the Franchise modes to be awkward at best. 2002 had some limitations that 2004 has, but depending on the mode you are in, it can be difficult

You are unable to take an already existing team and do much editing in it. Maybe I still have to work on it, but I can't find a way to become new quarterback on the Giants, or to put Eli Manning in there. (For Giants' fans, he had a great career in 2002!)

I'm happy with this game overall and it's fun, and it's about the fifth version of Madden Football I've used (I started on the original DOS Version), but it has its funky moments which are, frankly, a bit annoying and disappointing.

"TWO MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!", I truly enjoyed Madden 2004. I am patiently waiting for the 2005, but I have had a ball the last year playing this game. The control you have over players and even the plays make for some fun filled hours. I strongly suggest that anyone who has not tried it to give it a go, the price is right and you will be ready for some football!!

"This game sucks", I downloaded the demo version on my PC. It doesn't even let you play it. You have to watch the computer play a boring game--with no action. The sounds and features are NOT exciting. I'd rather play Techmo Bowl from Nintendo. I have a mouse and keyboard, so I don't even know how I would play this game. There were no instructions, and all the "features" were "not available in demo mode." So what, I have to buy it for $20 to see if I like it? EA Sports is a large, rich company that can afford to let us play the game before buying--after all, they did with MVP Baseball. Until someone proves me otherwise, and until I shell-out money for a decent USB-joystick, I say THIS GAME SUCKS!!!

"Honest Madden 2004 Review (PC Version)", Unlike previous version of Madden (which I loved) this version is free from bugs, flows smoothly, looks great and is very customizable. I prefer to play with my own teams and players rather than NFL teams; I previous versions of Madden it took my a whole day to just setup the logos, uniforms and team data. With Madden 2004 I was able to do it in two hours. The menu transitions are very fast and the pauses that were present in previous versions are gone. This game is an asset to my computer, I am even going to order another copy for backup. If the graphics get any better I won't need to watch football on TV at all!

"Football", It is kinda fun, but it will only please hardcore football fans. Personally, I give it a C+. I don't like the inaccuracy but if you like football a lot, this is the game for you

"Same ol` same ol`", I`ll try and keep it as short as possible:

Great graphics and `feel` to the game Personally I didn`t have a problem with the controls but I can see where some people are coming from with their complaints. I totally disagree with the idea of letting the AI take control over the moves of the player you`re controlling. Surely there has to be some skill.

I agree that there is a certain amount of `randomness` to the game. Loads of fumbles and picks can spoil the fun. I played the other night and both my corners left the game with 5 picks each, 7 were returned for a score (set on Madden level). I`m sure there are other people out there who have had their WR with a catching of 90 have a ball come straight at `em and have it bounce off their head! Yeah...happens every day 8-P.

The Franchise mode is a waste of time IMO. While it`s nice to build a stadium, it serves no purpose. There really is no explanation as to why you want to hire or fire coaches, I see no difference no matter who`s in charge. I think this is true of a lot of the game however. It would be nice to get a better description of what the player stats actually do etc. The fact that there isn`t anything is worrying as it leads me to believe that it really is just a bunch of numbers doing random calculations.

As usual the drafting of players is awful. You have no idea as to their stats until you actually sign the player. Surely by scouting the player you`d have some idea in game terms as to their speed etc. Just save you picks and use them to trade for better players. Rarely is it worth signing a rookie. For example you could use a 1st round pick and maybe draft a 75ish lineman. Or you could use the same pick and get a guy who`s been in the league a year and is around an 80! You choose. The whole drafting/free agent thing needs changing.

As usual there is often no link to player stats and performance on the field. You can have a 99 DT having problems with a 70 G who`s as weak as the US foreign policy and he gets no where. The is particularly true of the right defence end who never performs as well as the left. QB accuracy doesn`t seem to come in to play a great deal. I`ve seen QB`s with an accuracy of around 60 pick apart a good pass D all day apart from the 8 INT`s 8-P. I dunno, just doesn`t seem realistic enough.

The playbooks are okay although building your own is grief as it`s a bit buggy.

I`d like to see - bigger off the ball hits; players slipping over sometimes; Fumbled snaps or hand-off (But please not 10 in a game); The ability to consistently stop the pass against the CPU if you had a good enough D; Line-play consistent with the players stats; Weather and pitch surface making a difference; Players getting assists on Tackles; The ability to assign a DB to a specific player for the whole game; A point to having to choose a players hair style other than for when someone knocks his lid of; EA actually listening to peoples suggestions.

Overall - I play the game looking for realism. I`d gladly sacrifice being able to have pink uniforms and a super stadium in return for better features on the field. I reckon all we`ll see next year from EA is a feature allowing you to choose the half time entertainment is on the Superbowl.
