"Just a charger"
I bought the Canon CB-5L after the cheap knockoff I got on ebay died a week after I got it. There's not much to say about the CB-5L. I started by putting a totally discharged Canon BP511 battery (with no so-called "memory" build-up) in it. A "red" indicator light came on which immediately turned steadily green. I removed and reseated the battery several times. Was the battery fully charged? Who knows! I left the battery to charge several hours just in case. Does the charger do its job? Well, yes. My problem is with the charge level indicator. There are three valued printed on the charger housing: 0, 50, 100. The indicator is supposed to be a nlinking light indicator that functions as time indicator of how much charging time is left. Doesn't work for me. Maybe my charger is defective.

The charging unit feels light and flimsy. Not comfortable calling it "high quality". That's my 2 cents on it.

"better than any third party charger"
I bought a third party charger to save money instead of buying this one. The third party charger died after about 3 months for no obvious reason. Then I bought this one. It works perfectly, I expect it will for the foreseeable future, I've never had a problem with official Canon merchandise. AND, it came with power cords compatible with just about every type of wall socket in existence (very convenient if you travel like I do). Don't waste your time and money on a third party piece of junk. Buy this charger instead.

"Canon Battery Charger"
I bought it as a gift for a digital camera/video I'd gotten a few years ago, so that I could send it to a couple who had a new baby boy. They are pleased with it and thanked me for such a great gift not only of the camera but also the charger and a battery that would last 8 hrs to shoot their Christmas 2006.

This charger does exactly what is supposed to, very quickly. There is a cordless model that is a bit more compact.

"Battery Charger", I like the nice compact look since it is easy to carry in the camera bag. Easy indicator light lets you know the charging progress.

The charger is the exact one that came with my camera and was so much cheaper than purchasing it from the manufacturer. The charger works perfectly.

"Check what you get", I bought this as my son was travelling out of country and the reviews indicated that charger came with cables for all countries. Not the case! Only came with a cord for the US. Looking back at the product description, there is no indication of what cables come with the charger. If it used to come with many cables, Canon no longer includes them. On contacting Canon, they told me I could buy the other cables at an electronics store. Not what I expected. Worked fine for US, but didn't fit what I expected.

"Great Charger", I purchased this charger 10 months ago to replace the original Canon G2 charger that never seemed to work when I needed it most.

Although I bought a backup battery, the original battery I thought could have been the problem has been holding a good charge since I have been using the CB-5L charger. I love it!

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Canon CB-5L Battery Charger", It is just what a charger should be : light weight, simple to use, dependable. I would recommend it over any other charger.

"Exactly what I wanted and more!", It is exactly as the original that I got with my camera AND I got an adaptor for the car, for a 220 plug and the "Y" socket type. COOL!

"This charger DOES work with the Rebel (300D). ", I've owned my Rebel now for almost a year and this is the charger that I use for both my batteries! (One at a time.. :-))

As one person stated, once you learn how to put the battery in it becomes second nature. (It doesn't just slide it, but has to be started near the top.)

I have no problem recommending this charger.

"Canon CB-5L Battery Charger", It was unclear at first how to slip the battery in to the charger, however, once I did it charged the battery very well.

"Canon DSLR battery Charger", This is the original charger that came with my 10D. It also works with the D30 & D60, it does not work with the 300 or 350. It is a fast charger and works well with generic batteries. One advantage of this charger is the number of multinational power cords it comes with, with 5 different types supplied.
