"Another excellent Sony memory stick", This is the larger sized memory stick pro at 256 mb. I've used this memory stick as well as the newer models for years and have never had any problems with them. This specific one I use for my sony vaio and sony clie and make it easy to transfer pdf and other files between my notebook and handheld clie. Very reliable and never lost any data.

"I've not had any problems with these Sony Memory Sticks", I've owned and use the Sony 256MB Memory Stick Pro pictured (in black), and currently also use a 1GB Sony Memory Stick Pro. I've not had any problems with them, formatting or otherwise, over long periods of heavy use. OK, a little pricier than, say, SD cards, but a good quality product for Sony digital cameras.

"Looking London Talking Tokyo", Site says "NEW" item..but found the plastic cut and opened..when asked seller replied giving many reasons..like... to bring down shipping cost (how ?), or otherwise the price wont be so low ( does that mean give opened item saying NEW) or it was too late to update (we can wait) ...Though Product works well but i had given money for new item..!!! Who knows how long it will work..so think before you buy..opened item is called NEW here !!

"Original Memory Stick", Works properly. Now that the number of megapixels in digital cameras continue to increase, buying a 512mb or 1gb memory card would be a better investment. However, if you don't think you need that much storage, this memory stick produced by Sony will be a good choice for your purposes.

"All the memory you need but SanDisk is cheaper", This product works well enough and has an extensive amount of memory. It is more than enough unless you take an insane amount of pictures or you want to take a 50 min video, in which case I recommend you just buy a digital camcorder. If you are thinking about getting the 512 or bigger i would not recommend it because you will probably find that you simply dont need that much space. However, if I could do it all over again I would buy the SanDisk which works just as well for half the price.

"things are getting better!!", I am a user of this item and regards to the previous comments made back in 2003!!! Sony have sorted the problems and do supply cameras and mp3 which take these cards.

"Does not work in some cameras", Please check to see if your camera is compatible with the PRO stick. My camera will take a Sony memory stick but not a Sony memory stick PRO. Too bad I opened the package before I figured that out. This might be great storage, but if you don't have a compatible product, you won't be using any of it.

"Happy with it", I love this memory stick pro, I use it in a Sony DSC-P10 camera that requires a lot of memory for pictures. This memory stick pro stores a lot of pictures, and writes at a fast speed (which you need for taking another quick picture). You don't need to switch between memory banks like the older models, which is great because it would be an inconvenience to keep taking the stick out and putting it back. It's a little bit more money than the Lexar and Sandisk brands, but if you consider how much you've spent on your Sony product, it is well worth the extra few bucks.

"This is not a memory stick", I don't know what this is. I put it in my Minolta G500 camera and while the camera knew it was there, I could not access the memory. ATTENTION SONY. Someone should lose their job for letting this poorly designed product out the door. I bought it (and paid a higher price) because this was Sony.

JUNK, TRASH, GARBAGE

"Doesn't work on my "OLD?" Sony camera", I am disappointed that Sony does not advertise, announce, or otherwise let the consumer know that this memory stick does not work on "OLD" pre-2003 Sony devices. I purchased this for my "OLD" 2001 Cyber-Shot DSC-F707 5.2 mega pix camera. When I inserted it I got memory stick error message. I then inserted this into my "OLD" 2002 Sony U10 and got the same message. It is worthless to me. Unless you own a 2003 or newer Sony, this will not work for you.
