"Returned", I bought it for those horrible commercials that go so loud , especially at night. I tried it on 2 tvs, one HDtv and the other normal.Both gave poor results, It certainly changed the clarity of sound so you don't have to raise the volume so much, but It did not do what it said it can do.
Bottom line, improved sound but not volume

"Not bad, if you know what to expect", This product has worked well, as far as leveling out the volume between commercials and programming. Unfortunately, you can often hear the product working in the form of a loud pop. This happens when I am watching something with a large dynamic range (a lot of difference between loud and soft sounds). When watching movies, listening to music, or anything else where the dynamic range comes into play, it is best to have it bypassed. When watching network or cable TV, when you can expect commercials and heavily compressed sounds, this device seems to work well.

Read all the reviews, know when to use it, and this product works. Expect it to be a miracle device and you will find this device to be a waste of money.

"Well Worth It At 3 Times The Price", I just purchased a VR-1 TV Volume Controller to keep the volume of commercials from blasting the remote out of my hand. To my surprise not only did it resolved the issue with the commercials but it also makes the programs much more enjoyable. I can now enjoy the whispers as well as the explosions instead of grabbing the remote.

My TV supports both HDMI and Component RCA Video and Audio inputs. The VR-1 is connected in the audio component connections.

This way if I won't the sound without the VR-1 I change my channel to the HDMI channel. If I won't the VR-1 to maintain my volume I switch to the Component channel.

While the TV remote adjust the sound as normal. The only this I use the remote for now is changing the channels.



"Buy this to control the wild audio levels on converter boxes.", I installed the Philco Converter box with analog feed thru. The audio levels vary so wildly between channels, between network feeds and locals and then back to network, between program material and commercials, that something had to be done or you would wear out the volume control on your remote. Since the networks and local stations, the ad agencies and the FCC will not do anything to control these wild audio level swings, you have to buy added equipment to control it for them.

This controller should do it for you. Just install it between the converter box left and right audio output and your TV left and right audio inputs. Feed the digital channel from your video output on your converter box to the video input on your TV or VCR. Adjust your digital viewing to come in on the AUX or Video input. Enjoy.

"Wasted money", This product did not do what I expected it to do which was to amplify softly spoken dialog and/or decrease the volume of loud dialog so we could hear all dialog comfortably. I do not use it anymore.

"Well worth it!Simple to install if", Simple to install if you have some knowledge of the audio/video hookups of you system. It does the job of quieting extra loud commericals.

"Save Your Money!", I really hoped this thing would work. I installed it as per the instructions and it does controll the volume between stations a little bit, but not anywhere near enough. I tried with it in line with my amp and without it in line. Hardly any differencel
I wouldn't reccoment buying it.

"Works as advertised!", Unit worked as described. It kept the TV volume at the same level on all my satellite stations. Only heard the popping noise mentioned in other posts on one movie which continuely went from dead silence to loud talking.

"Some annoying clcks and pops", The device works but creates occasional clicks and pops. Possibly more annoying than volume issues. 2 stars

"Works like advertised", I have no regrets in buying this regulator. I was so sick and tired of the blaring commercials! There I am, on a quiet Saturday afternoon, lying down to take a leisurely nap after completing my "honey-dos". I turn on the TV to a Discovery or History channel documentary - not too loud, but just enough to hear as I start to doze off. BANG! THEN AT TWICE THE VOLUME BILLY MAYS COMES ON TO TELL ME ABOUT SOME NEW RIPOFF THAT IS FOR SALE.

There ought to be a law - I swear.

The regulator works on 98% of all commercials, there are a few that come in a bit louder than the regular volume. But even these few commercials are much quieter than without the regulator.

I love the product and would recommend it highly.
