Others say..."Whoa!"Alright now its been a while since I played something I enjoyed as much as this. Im not into PC games and all I can actually play is the Age Of Empires/Mythology series. Anyway, this game tops all my expectations. Its never been so much fun to blow up everything around you. Its amazing the amount of actual detail that has gone into making this game a visual blast. Its really fun at any time. I'm 20 and I seldom get time off my college life to play PC games but this one is just one of the best gifts I bought myself lately. I recommend it to anyone who likes KILL EM ALL freak game play. Notice the helicopters and the detailed maps next time your playing. For those of you confused I suggest you download a demo of the game. Cheers and good Luck! "I hate puny Banner!"Ok. We all know that the Hulk is an unintelligent brute who smash things with the enthousiasm of a two year old toddler. I did not know that I had to go down to the level of intelligence of the Hulk to enjoy this game. Fortunately, that can be arranged :) but for only short periods of time. The Banner sequences are completely useless. It is not on the level of Metal Gear or Thief or any sneak game that I know. At least, those sequences were short. I loved the way the programmers did the graphics. I read a lot of comic books and I think that the transition was very good. Most of the fun I had was to destroy the environment and use the debris to get rid of my enemies. Speaking of enemies, they are plenty and dumb. The expression "cannon fodder" should be modified to "Hulk fodder". They keep coming and coming like mindless clones (after all, that is what they are, no offense to the military). Don't get me wrong, I like this game but it needed more strategy and a better AI. Keep looking in the bargain bin. It should be there. "GODDDDDDD!"For God's sake did anyone else realize how incredibly stupid this game was?! The first time its okay because lets face it, it was a new game so you were dying to play. After awile you actualy start to realize how boring this game really is. Ex. Level: chemical effect, the guard who betty brant knocked out had a gun and when you put on his suit, guess what...it ain't there! Don't waste your money. "BAD!!!"This is an extremely bad computer game. The first time you play it is okay, but the second time you realize how boring it is. There is no challenge in the game at all. The only reason I gave it one star was because it had one okay level, and it has somewhat good graphics. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!! "No"I am somewhat disappointed with this game. Granted, it's fun to smash things as the Hulk, and that alone might be worth getting the game on sale (as I thought I had, until I saw Amazon's price...). That part is fun. Overall, thought, I don't think the game was well thought out and designed for sustained fun at all. To elaborate: 1) Sequences as Banner. Sure, Banner is the source of drama in the Hulk concept. The problem is, in the game context, he really can't DO anything. He has no special skills. In these parts of the game you're supposed to depend on "steath", but Banner isn't a particularly stealthy guy. He's not a Navy Seal or a Bond spy. You don't need a Hulk game for this - you could just call the game "Dude". Okay, so you hide behind things, move a few crates around to climb on, and if anyone sees you they pop you a couple of times and it's over. Another big problem with the Banner sequences is that they frame the story so the objective is to NOT turn into the Hulk. Let's face it - the one special thing about Banner here is that he turns into the Hulk, and the objective is to NOT let this happen. C'mon - who doesn't still get a little thrill when they see footage of Bill Bixby with those bright blue contacts and that "Hulk-trance" expression & sound (still more compelling in my opinion than the "I've got really bad gas" movie-style transformation). So, anyway, you're stuck with Banner in these really tedious sequences, trying to avoid doing what you actually bought the game for - turning into the Hulk. 2) Storyline / sequences / environment not well thought out. All right, so you're chasing a Hulk-type opponent through buildings, underground, etc. The military is after both of you. Reinforced barriers keep slamming down in front of you. I noticed that the "maze" kept presenting me with exactly the same sequence of rooms, over and over again. Seriously, I started to think "Oh, I know what's after this, I've seen it before." In most rooms, you get wave after wave of soldiers coming after you, so there's no real opportunity or point to clear the room. You smash the door down and move on - so this really becomes a game of "smash and run away". Finally, the plot makes little sense. So, the miltary is after both of you, plus there are other creatures that have little explaintion for their presense or connection to the plot (gamma dogs, a vampire creature). Not much complaint here, though, because they're more fun to fight than the ubiquitous soldiers. Okay, then you're off to Alcatraz, after the other Hulk guy. He's got a hostage. Sounds like fun, right? Except now the militry is there, apparantly TEAMED UP with your enemy. WTF? Seems like the designers just want to keep throwing the same guys at you regardless of the conetxt or plot consistancy. 3) Smashing is fun, sure, but when it comes down to it the Hulk as a character is a bit of a one-trick pony. There are smashy, punchy, grabby moves, sure, but after 15 minutes I was ready for another key combination to do something new. And they don't really enable you to do much with jumping, except when you're moving from scene to scene. This is a big frustration. In one scene, there are a bunch of soliders lined up on the other side of a chasm with rocket launchers. You try to jump across, but no, the game just lets you hop around on the side you're on. Okay, so you throw things or deflect the rockets back at them, take them out, and a bunch of "healing" or "rage" orbs show up. You can't get to them. The game isn't flexable enough. This is mild and short-lived fun. The Spider-man movie game was much, much better - I'd recommend that one over the Hulk, or my current favorite, Jedi Academy. Plotlines, flexability, character abilities, environment, all much, much more compelling. Kind of a shame, Hulk had the potential to be a much better game.

What our customer's say!
"Great Game(Most of It)", The Hulk. Marvel's strongest and the most misunderstood superhero of all gets his own video game title in which you smash, bash and create utter chaos. And true believer if you are worried Bruce Banner wouldn't show up after a game titled Hulk, fear not because he has come with his own unique way of smashing and bashing and joining in the action. This game was released in 2003 just before the release of the movie and it has a quite a different story. Most of the time if a game is released along-side a movie, the game plainly suck because the developers don't have any time to finish the game and stuck with the movie's story. This may be the case for the Hulk, but it has number of things which gives us gamers a chance to neglect its flaws and concentrate on the pure fun of this game. OK, so as mentioned above the Story is quite different from the movie, in fact it takes place after year from the movie. Story starts with a call from Professor Crawford who used to be Banner's mentor. Crawford informs Banner he had found a cure for the hulk and tells Banner to break into a facility with a special machine to rid the world of Hulk forever. However as the story unfolds, Crawford steals Banner's Gamma energy to become a super-villain named Ravage. Ravage plans on unleashing an army of gamma muties into the world with another classic Hulk villain, The Leader. So, Banner have to stop The Leader and Ravage and save the world(how typical). This is an all right story which gives the developers a chance to cram in some villains and characters. Okay now to the Gameplay....Game play of this title is one of the greatest AND the worst part of this game.Playing as Hulk you can practically smash everything in your way or pick-up cars and tanks to use as weapons. You also have some obstacles which only Hulk can overcome like Tanks, Gamma-dogs, various Hulk villains. However there is another side to this game, which is namely BRUCE BANNER and yes comic geeks its the alter-ego of the HULK or...um.. vice-versa. Anyway, there is number of stages in this game where you play as Banner using stealth and genius to overcome any obstacle in your way or a simple soldier. Banner only have a simple punch and grab to use against enemies he would encounter. Its better to not engage the enemy at all since you have only two moves and will lose immediately. He also have to solve many computer puzzles which you will have to complete in order to progress. These puzzles are neither fun or challenging which makes them tedious. In terms of presentation it is an OKAY game since this is 2003. The graphics are cell-shaded meaning that they have comic book like feel to it which is quite nice. Also the cinematic are beautifully done and have a realistic feeling to it. I have this game for both Windows PC and Xbox and they are quite similar in all elements discussed above.
Story: 7.5 Gameplay: 8.5(for Hulk)/ 5.0(for Banner) Graphics/Presentation: 7.8 Overall:7.9
"Fun for a day", What can I say? It's an okay game. The smashing is fun, but it gets old quickly. There are very few move combinations, which makes the game even more bland. Most of the levels consist of you fighting off wave after wave of puny soldiers (who oddly don't die after being punched once by an 800 pound beast).
A few levels you play as Bruce Banner, the scientist who was exposed to the gamma radiation that turns him into the Hulk. They are meant to be a change of pace to the Hulk levels, but they are pointless. Banner is incredibly weak and the levels are not interesting at all.
All in all, this game can be beaten in a day. If you can, rent it when you're bored. Otherwise, buy another game.
"Smash, Sneak, Repeat...", At first I was really disappointed in the controls for the PC version, this is definitely meant to be played with a controller, which leads me to believe this game is geared more for console play than PC. Also I wasn't thrilled with the missions as David Banner, he gets killed so easy, but that's just me probably. I couldn't wait to turn back into the Hulk and start smashing and kicking stuff, but even then it could get a little repetitious. Other than that I rather liked this game. The graphics were smooth, sorta comic book style, kind of like XIII, but without the rough outline in black, nothing groundbreaking. The audio and FX were cool, lots of explosions and AI enemy chatter. Good gameplay, I never had a problem with the 3rd person camera angles, although I'm partial to first person perspective. I loved the fact that you could pick stuff up and throw it or use it to pulverize your foes, but I would have liked more usable debris. Hulk's different moves were allright, it's great when you get a combo going and really cause some damage. Most of the bosses you come up against, recycled throughout the game, are pretty challenging, and look fairly menacing. Then there's the almost undefeatable end boss, The Leader, who looks totally stupid. Like some cartoon baddie with a signature goatee and a massive green waterhead, who's dressed in an olympic ice skater's outfit. All in all a pretty fun game, especially if you're a Hulk fan.
"Only Alot of fun when you're mad..", The Hulk has really hard controls to master, and the storyline is confusing because, I am told, it was made like a sequel to the movie. The only time you get to do really fun moves is with the bosses, and then you get to do stuff like pick them up and smash them down on your knee. When you fight your standard little soldiers you don't get to do much except punch them. The parts where you play as Bruce Banner are LAME a.k.a. BORING, or whatever word synonomous to those you prefer. It's hard enough to keep you entertained for a while, but don't spend more than ten dollars on it. Great for a Rainy day though :)
"Mediocre, not Incredible", The appeal to this game is that you're supposed to experience the power of the Hulk. For the first half hour or so of the game, this might be true. The ground cracks under your feet, you swat missiles away like gnats, and being the Hulk you, well, smash. Unfortunately the game itself falls apart after a very short while.
First, there are the very annoying Banner missions. The idea behind these is solid; you get to play the Hulk's other half and the levels add a stealth aspect to the game. Unfortunately, the Banner levels are like a very dumbed down version of Metal Gear Solid. The environments are sparse and you're really just standing around as the occasional guard walks by. They get old fast and generally drag down the entertainment value of the game.
The Hulk levels are slightly more fun, but they too get very repetitive very quickly. The Hulk has a handful of smashing moves, including the thunderclap from the comics, and he can pick up rubble and whatnot to throw or to use as a melee weapon. Unfortunately, while the game certainly has a power aspect to it, you don't really feel the Hulk's strength because you spend the whole game fighting soldiers and the gamma dogs from the movie. We're talking about a guy who can bench busses and who swats missiles away with his bare hands; I don't want to spend ten hour hitting soldiers, even if they do have some fancy high-tech shields. What's worse is that these guys actually take multiple hits to go down. I thought the Hulk was supposed to be incredible, not just above average.
Beyond the early and occasional fun of smacking people around as the Hulk, the game offers very little else. The cell-shaded graphics add a nice touch to the game but also look silly at some points. Eric Bana from the movie lends his voice to the game because, well, it's a paycheck. His acting is average at best here, not that he has a lot to work with. The story and script is essentially one excuse to have a boss fight after another. You fight all manner of comic book villains, some of whom, like Half-Life and Flux, do not resemble their comic counterparts in the least. You don't know where they come from or why they're after the Hulk; you only get to figure out their predictable combat pattern in order to best them.
Luckily, this game is rather old by now and can thus be acquired very cheaply. If you have to pay more than ten dollars for it, don't bother. It's not worth your time or money. If you really want to see a game where you get to smash things like the Hulk, with a compelling story and good graphics to boot, pick up Hulk: Ultimate Destruction instead. That game puts this cheap attempt to cash in on the movie franchise to shame.

Read this reviews before You buy..."A very fun and entertaining action fighter!", Great beat'em up fun! The hulk is mainly a good ol'action game with a hint of stealth elements when playing the bruce banner levels. And as a action/fighter the hulk suceeds and is very well done. The Hulk is given plenty of awesome and cool attacks to mow down the countless enemy soldiers and mutants featured within this game. The bruce banner stealth levels are a bit time consuming as it takes practice to get things just right when sneaking past enemys, but never gets too difficult. The graphics are pretty nice with the character movements and animations of the hulk. The Cel-shaded cartoony cutscenes are cool to watch as well. And last but not least; The Enemy A.I in the game is excellent. Most noteably with the small soldiers-Mainly the rocket-launchers who always stratically place themselves in the right areas, work together and shower the Hulk with rockets from a distance. They are quite smart and troublesome indeed. However i do have my gripes with this game: 1)-they could have given hulk a more varity of power slam moves to use on larger enemys, rather than the 3.What about the powerbombs,rapid-fire punching, flips and various other throws that the Hulk-sized enemys do? Hulk should be able to perform those as well! 2)-Why not have cheat codes allowing you to play as the hulk-sized villians such as Madman? I'm quite suprised this was not included. Hopefully they shall include such improvements in a seqal.Other than that the game was great and was also very easy to install and get working on my system as well and played perfectly with my gamepad.
"great game, you need a control pad though", This is a great game for when you want to put your brain in neutral and start tearing up stuff(I love it!) but despite what some reveiwers are saying, you do need a controller of some kind. The keys are clunky and just don't work. mouse support would've helped that some. The guy that said the manual should've been one page and said HULK SMASH! is right on, that pretty much says it all. The controls can be figured out quickly. button 1 grab, button 2 special, button 3 smash, and so on. Holding any button brings on that radiation through HULK's green veins giving him more smashing power. Helicopters are annoying and the most annoying thing of all is you can't throw cars or anything else at them(even though you can throw cars and anything else period.) The sceen is very 2-D because you can only throw things up to a certain point and helicopters are usually just above that point. Bruce Banner can also fight(though not five or six trained soldiers at once) but usually gets his crev canned. The plot is linear becasue as Banner you absolutely can NOT turn into the HULK. If you do, you loose. Also as the Hulk you are given green arrows and told where to go, that is a no brainer and you should've been given more freedom to move around the city/other environments. A game "TELLING" you what to do is not really a game. I would've liked to hear the "thousand voices" when Bruce changed like in the Bill Bixby series, that was the coolest part of the show. It wasn't written in the comic though, but it would've been cool. Despite the lack of feedom(thus only four stars) this is fun and a tension tamer because you can just sit there and bash and smash hearing the bass rumble(with the right subwoofer) and be totally ruthless. What more could you want?
"This is a cool game", This game is cool. The Grat Hulk's cool. To unlock Gray Hulk type in Janitor as a code in the Game Terminal (Universal Code Input Computer on Banner levels). The Gray Hulk option is in the special Features Menu in the Cheats menu. The Gray Hulk talks but the Green Hulk doesn't. Here are other codes below. Put them into the code input option in the options menu. GMMSKIN-Invulnerability ANGMNGT-Full Rage Meter that's as many cheats as I can tell you. For more cheats go to gamefaqs . com, click on PC click on H and scroll down to Hulk. Click on codes and Secrets and you'll find a lot of cheats.
"Very Good, a few flaws. A solid B or B+", Ignore the "it doesn't work" reviews. Check the sys requirements and update your drivers etc etc blah blah. On to the game review: Overall, quite fun. Get the cheat codes to help with (or skip) the Banner levels, which suck, but comprise only a small part of the game. The Hulk levels are great fun, though. Be sure to learn the combos or the enemies might kill you rapidly and the fighting can get repetative. The camera can be irritating, and the music could be better, but these are nitpick details, and overall, I highly recommend the Hulk. It's a good value for the dollar, too. It really is a good fun game.
"HULK SMASH!...your PC if your not careful.", Note: this game will not work with old video and audio card drivers, this is the reason for some of the "It won't work!!!" reviews. The game does work, and that is not always a good thing since the graphics are cheesy and the parts where you are plain old Bruce Banner are boring. But kiester-kicking as the Hulk is fun, so its not all bad.
