"some flaws, but lots of fun"
We've only had this a few days and the mats are already starting to curl up. I hope I can iron them flat again.

As other reviewers have said, the voice is too quiet. He's also a bit too quick to jump to the next command. This is especially tough for the little kids for which the game would have the most educational value--it doesn't give them enough time to process the command before it's off to the next thing. If they don't know it pat, they miss out on that command.

However, we did have lots of fun. Even I was enjoying myself and the kids liked to play over and over and over. We have played through many rounds and have gotten lots of different commands--I don't see where some people say it's too repetitive. Anyway, this is a keeper for sure. I don't find myself sighing internally and reluctantly agreeing to play it like some of their games--it really is a good time.

"Almost perfect"
We love the toy and have spent hours playing with our son. We first purchased about a year ago. We've never had an issue with the toy and to this day, he still enjoys it although it may be a little to simplistic for a 4 yr old. The only problem we've found is the sound isn't very loud. You have to turn off all music/ tv's etc and remember to "stay quiet" when he's telling us what to do next.

"Way fun"
This game is GREAT!!!!! My kids can play for 45 mins straight. Only wish the "speaker" was a little louder

"A winner for different ages"
My 6 year-old has enjoyed this game since he was about 3. Now he and his brothers (4 and 2) will pull it out and play it with their friends. It has really withstood the test of time both in terms of durability and in terms of entertainment value. I also like that it is an active game. Sometimes it is a little hard to tell what the announcer is saying, but that is the only slight drawback I can think of.

"The best game ever!"
If you have a child, know a child or were a child you have to have this game! I got it for my 3 year old son for Christmas. I didn't know anyone that had it so I took a chance....based on the reviews I read I didn't think it would be a bad idea. We opened it up on Christmas day and played - it is so fun! My son and I played and played. It's great exercise for parents! The rounds are pretty short and have you dancing, hopping, crawling and moving to the next spot. Each spot has a shape, color and object on it (food, animal, musical instrument etc). I love it when the "winner" is asked to take a bow, jump for joy or do a funky dance. The next round starts immediately and there is some snappy music while you're moving from one spot to the next so honestly there never is a dull moment! I was going to take this to my son's daycare when he returns after the holiday break but I think I'm just going to buy them their own.

It's fun, educational and did I mention fun? It focuses on movement, colors, shapes, objects, and really zones in on attention to detail. We had so much fun playing this, I can't wait to get home tonight so we can play again!

PLEASE - IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN- GET THEM THIS GAME!!!!! YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!!!!!

By the way - I saw the same game on the shelf at Target for twice the amount I paid on Amazon.com.....order it right now!!!!!!! :)

What our customer's say!

"Cranium games", This is a good game to teach shapes, colors, letters, animal sounds and simple directions. Great for pre-k kids!

"One of the Best Preschooler Games Out There", I have lost count of how many preschooler games I have bought for my game-loving 3 year old daughter now. The problem is that she loves games, but most games at her skill level are terribly painful for adults or older children to play. For instance, Candy Land and Hi Ho Cherry-o. Both of those games have great educational value and are very cute, but after 5 rounds you will need the men in the white coats to come take you away.

Along with the bumble bee skip hop game and another Cranium game called Cariboo, this is definitely one of the best games so far. It gets the kids' whole body moving and everyone plays at the same time so there is no boring pauses while you wait for someone to take their turn. It is fast moving, education, and fun. How often do you see a combination like that?

I would like to add, I really appreciate the tactile quality of the game pieces. They have a wonderful rubbery feel that makes them fun to handle. I have noticed that all of the Cranium games we have purchased so far have tactile pieces.

"The Perfect Preschool Toy", We all enjoy playing this as a family, two 4 year olds, a 34 and 40 year old! It is also one of the few games that the kids will get out on their own and play together. It is nice that it is an active game as well. I think it would also be helpful if your kids don't know all their colors or shapes yet as the game calls out different shapes and colors to stand on.

"Best game for preschoolers EVER!", We received this game for my three year old son's birthday, and it has been the only game that allows for his attention span and activity level. The game does teach colors, shapes, and various themes (musical instruments, animals, etc). Most importantly, it has taught my little guy that he has to stop and pay attention to the next set of instructions. As I also have a sixteen month old, I really appreciate the fact that the gameplay is not interrupted if he hits the purple "start" button repeatedly during our gameplay. My little one is also hearing impaired, and the game has been excellent for listening and recognizing instructions. He doesn't quite understand the color and shape concept yet (too young at 16 months), but he does enjoy "spinning" or "rolling" to a new pad. Honestly, this game can be enjoyed by almost any age!

"Great fun for multiple kids, multiple ages, any gender, any season!", I bought this game for my two children (girl age 5 and boy age 8) after reading the customer reviews on Amazon -- I actually returned a game that was twice as expensive and bought this because it was rated so much better. I'm so glad I did!

Hullabaloo is fun and fast-paced to keep even kids with short attention spans entertained. It is easy to set up, easy to pack up, and easy for young kids to operate. When the kids need to stay inside all day, it's perfect to pull out (even for a quick 15-20 minutes) to help them "shake their sillies out" when they start going stir-crazy, and it gets them active instead of vegging out in front of the television. The winner is simply whoever is standing on the "winning pad" the automated voice calls out -- the frog, the guitar, etc. -- so there is no skill level separating older players from younger ones, making the odds fair for all. Both of my kids can play together, which is a rare and wonderful thing. :)

Two things that I would mention to potential buyers are that it is more fun (although not totally necessary) for the kids when grownups join in; my kids like nothing better than to see me acting silly alongside them, but it's easy to join for a few minute-long sessions and then step out. Also, you do need a certain amount of open floor space to play in order to spread out all of the mats. If your rooms are crowded you might want to think twice. Otherwise, I would recommend this highly for boys or girls between 3-10, especially for families with multiple age children!

"Quick & Fun for Kids", This game is fun for my kids, but only for a short period of time. It's more fun for them when everyone plays.

"Boring game!", Our family found this game to be very boring. I was excited to give it to my almost 4 year old son based on the reviews but was very upset with how bored my son and the rest of our family were after a few rounds of playing. I thought this would be a great game for all of us to have some silly fun, but it was just simply not that great. On top of that there was no challenge so I can't imagine how a child over my sons age would like it. The announcers voice was also quiet and hard to hear. I returned our copy and two others that I had bought as gifts.

"Good idea", First the negative. I agree, you can't hear what the person is saying most of the time. Especially if a kid makes a noise...which kids do. I also agree, that kids should be creative and play these types of games without help from a battery operated prompter. Perhaps it could be a bit more challenging, but I'm not sure what level we were playing. That said, most kids will like this. Let's face it, kids like games that talk. It does make you think fast, which is a very good skill to be learning for the younger kids. It is something we can play as a family, even baby sis gets involved. It also gives everyone a chance to win. My son didn't want to stop playing it tonight. I told him "ok, we'll play until you win again, and then we stop". Sure enough, about four rounds later, he won, and was very happy. He has some delays, and never used to win any games requiring physical skill, or thinking fast. This game allowed him to feel like a winner without me having to "let him win". Recommended for younger kids (pre-k to 7), but also a fun family game.

"Fantastic interactive, educational toy!", My children love this game! It is lots of fun and gets the kids up and moving. The game requires children to listen to and follow spoken instructions, identify colors, recognize classes of objects (such as animals, food items, etc.) and incorporates movement. Game mats and electronic console are sturdy enough to stand up to most abuses that a toddler can dish out. Highly recommended item!

"A VERY FUN GAME!", We recieved this as a gift three years ago. This game still gets played at least 3/4 times a month. It's a combination between twister and Simon Says that teaches color and object recognition. To begin, you lay down all the mats, that are made of a strong but flexy plastic. Then you push down the big red button on the main unit and the fun begins! The main unit will give you directions on what to do next. The voice is very loud and clear, and there is even a button to control the volume high or low. Kids and Adults will enjoy playing this game together. My son's even like to play by themselves. The winner of the game is the person who is standing on the mat that is called out by the machine. This product delivers exactly what it says it does and will last for many years!
