Others say...
"I'm forevermore the fan of SC 2!" I can't say how much I enjoy this game soo much. I almost beat the whole game. My favorite characters I play the most are Taki, Cassandra, Talim, Ivy, Seung Mina, Xianghua, Sophitia. Yeah that's kind of it for the female characters. The male hunky characters I adore to play are Maxi, Kilik, Raphael, Yungsung, and Mitsurugi. I even beat the extra arcade mode for double the gold. In the weapon master mode, I found it very hard to beat, depending on the missions, You have different subchapters to explore, and you even collect weapons, art, exhibition theater for each character, I almost got the whole SC2 museum in the game. Other than that it's great to have this game all to myself!
"Masterful Installment" With this version of Soul Calibur, its obvious that Namco has stepped up its dedication to the series. Soul Calibur can now rightfully be called a true "A-list" series of Namco.
The fighters use weapons. This is the fundamental difference that sets Soul Calibur apart from its Tekken sibling. The fighters are very well balanced, the game physics are excellent, the gameplay is fast yet smooth, the soundtrack is outstanding.
I can't think of any reason not to make Soul Calibur 2 a part of your collection.
"The most accessible fighter ever" Soul Calibur 2 is brilliant in short. It isn't like those generic fighting games where you have to press EVERY SINGLE BUTTON on the joypad to unleash the mage combo omega fireball of yore! Soul Calibur uses simplistic button combos, which in no way undermine the game. Jump into the practice mode (where you can also watch moves played out for you!), and flick through the moves and you can string them together easily, but the key is remembering when to use them. Essentially, you can always mash the buttons, but when enemies start to use more elaborate and flashy combos, you get both trounced and jealous. Yes, flashy flashy people, this game looks simply beautiful. Each character is beautifully rendered with perfect animation, and the eight-way combat feels much smoother than blocky 2d. You'll be overjoyed once you see your character spontaniously ignite their weapon and plunge it towards the enemy. So far, I have made no sense, simply because there is far too much about this game to like. Soul Calibur 2 is awesome. It's successor is almost equally good, but the only reason i didn't get it is because Talim is crap in it, and she is my favorite character. So Talim fans, stick with Soul Calibur 2, where she can actually hurt someone with a "sipa"....
"Good Game" This is an awesome game, totally worth the purchase, it has its difference from Tekken, as you DO use weapons. Combos and style of play are different BUT, nevertheless, being a tekken freak, I personally recommended. I got it today and by the looks of its just awesome. Some friends came in the afternoon and we just finished playing, 6 hours straight. It has lots of extras like the Weapon master mode(which unlocks a ton of stuff) and of course, the 200+ weapons you can own. Bottome lines is GET IT, you won't regret it. Tekken fans will surely like it and chances are newcomers or just casuals will too!
One of the things i really like are the effect of weapons, some are long range, like swords and big axes, some are short, like knives and daggers, each character is entitled to around 10 weapons, each with abilities or disabilites, some cooler than other, each weapon has a different style and background, which really adds to the game.
"Lego Starwars FUN AND FANTASTIC daniel carwithen" Lego starwars is a family fun game where lay as Yoda, Vader, General Grevious, Skywalker and much much more. You play from the first star wars movie to the third and there's even a bonus lvl to unlock. If I were you i would buy it and you don't have to worry about dying you respawn straight away. This game has amazing graphics.

What our customer's say!
"excellent game", This the best game that I have. I play this game every day for a few hours. I have other games but this is the one that I truely love. I just purchased a home entertainment system the other day and that makes it all the better. I also have soul calibur III but I don't like it as much as soul calibur II. This is a beautiful game.
"soul darkness come on to me", This is a fun game, the graphics is great, the gameplay, the characters, and stages. I remember i was playing my friends in this game 3 years ago it was real fun, so this is a great game.
"The Soul series continues to redefine the fighting game genre", Now in its third incarnation, Namco's Soul series of fighting games continues to set new standards for the genre. Soul Calibur II, while not making as dramatic a leap in visuals and technology as seen between the first two games, is still holding its place as the definitive 3D fighter. Sega's Virtua Fighter 4 offers some solid competition, but Calibur's implementation of weapons combat and plethora of gameplay modes gives it the edge.
Each of the Soul games has originated in the arcades, and every time they're ported to home consoles, Namco includes enough new features to justify a purchase even by someone who has already spent $50 in quarters. In Soul Calibur II, we see the return of the sorely missed Weapon Master Mode. For those newly introduced to the series, the weapon master mode sends the player through a lengthy series of challenges, testing not only their ability to best their opponent in combat, but to do so while overcoming adverse conditions. For example, the enemy may be given a boost in speed, or you may be able to win the fight only by knocking them out of the ring. While this may seem frivolous, it truly gauges the player's mastery of the many different aspects of gameplay.
Another key addition to the home versions of SC2 is multiple bonus characters. Returning from the first two games are Sophitia, Seung Mina, Lizardman, and end boss Inferno, joined by Necrid, Berserker, and Assassin. Also, exclusive to each version of the game is a cameo character from another franchise. Tekken's Heihachi joins the PS2 cast, Todd McFarlane's Spawn appears in on Xbox, and the legendary Link of Zelda fame completes the Gamecube roster. In this respect, the Gamecube received the better deal, as Link is easily one of the best (and cheapest) characters in the game. Meanwhile, PS2 wins in the controls department, beating both the awkward Gamecube and oversized Xbox pads. Lastly, Xbox has a slight advantage in terms of graphics. Whatever version you choose, however, you're in for a spectacular experience, as Namco again proves to be the master of 3D fighter design.
"Soul Calibur II", This game is the best game I've played in my life. I rate the graphics 8/10, but the game has a great cast of characters, and thier action-packed stories as well. The game is definetly better than SC3, because it seemed to have more effort put into it. The music is amazing. The best tunes are Eternal Struggle(Cervantes), Brave sword braver soul(Taki), and Raise Thy Sword(Heihachi). I strongly reccomend this game to anyone who's played Tekken, or any other action-packed game.Tekken 4
"Worth Your While", I played Soul Calibur 3 before playing Soul Calibur 2. There's not much difference between the two games other than the fact that SCIII has more features and extras. The graphics on the newer game is also slightly, not noticeably, superior to the older game. I admit buying Soul Calibur only upon learning that KOS-MOS from Xenosaga makes a cameo appearance in SC3. You can use the Character Creation Mode in the third game to build a fighter that looks just like KOS-MOS. Eventually, I got addicted to Soul Calibur.
Both are fun games. Each offers you many characters to choose from. SCIII even offers you the option of creating your own character. Each of these characters have unique weapons and attack moves. You can replay these games over and over, using different characters and you will never get tired. The combination of characters, costumes, and weapons, make this a game that will have a long replay value.
I rated Soul Calibur 2 higher than I did for Soul Calibur 3 simply because the battle AI in the older game is more consistent. You will play just as well with your character no matter who your opponent is. That doesn't mean that you will have the same challenge facing every enemy. If you choose a short range character and fight a long range character, you will naturally have to work harder to deal damage. However, unlike Soul Calibur 3, here you don't get the feeling that the AI is cheating on you and playing "favorites" with some characters like Seong-Mina or Talim. With SC2, you don't get the feeling that the AI is holding you back. In other words, if you get your rearend kicked, it meant that the enemy outplayed you and not because the AI put your character in slow motion. I'm referring to single mode, when you play against the CPU.
I highly recommend this game. I am new to playing the Soul Calibur series. I'm glad I gave this series a chance. It's a very, very fun fighting game series from Namco. I guarantee that you will spend countless hours in Practive Mode to learn the very complex character moves. As for me, I spend so much time with these games, SC2 and SC3, that I have actually developed a callus on my left thumb from playing so much. I get so worked up during battles that I tend to slam the left analog stick while entering my commands. Rough on the controller and hard on your thumb. But that just proves how addictive the Soul Calibur games are.

"Top notch title", I needed a fighting game with plenty of replay value, great graphics, great sound and a short larning curve. I found it with Soul Calibur 2. I played the original soul calibur many years ago and it was awsome then - this new installment is more of the same but better. They have a new character which they took from the Teken series and i know Xbox got spawn and Gamecube got Link from Zelda - the PS2 version got the lamest of the bunch but i minor gripe to a pretty much flawless game.
"Good fighting game", GENERALLY Good graphics, about 10 or 15 different scenes, nice traditional budo weapons (bo, nunchaku, combat hammers, combat axes, short swords, double short swords, naginata, katana, and many other different swords and other).
GAMEPLAY You can choose several different ways how to play it. Some of the options are: fighting against 'computer', against your friend, or make a tour around the game world where you have to meet different opponents on different experience levels and can win weapons or items + gain experience.
COMPARING TO TEKKEN People who have played Tekken before will recognize couple of characters from that game, among a row of different interesting new characters.
The game is not very original compared to Tekken, but it is a nice change if you happen to like fighting games little extra from average.
This game is perhaps more colorful and scenery more fantacy related. Some different choices what comes to gameplay (mentioned above).
RECOMMENDATION Even if this game is not very original, it is a game that is worth keeping. It's fun, it's spontanious (you don't have to worry about storyline), it can be played both alone or together with your friends.
Definitely recommending this game. Have fun if you get it! :)
"Great Game!", If you've never played this game, I highly recommend you try it. With Soul Caliber III coming out, it's easy to find this game at a good price. I bought it for a little one-on-one action, but the single player journey is equally as fun. Easily one of the best (if not the best) fighting game out there.
"Rock 'em, Sock 'em", This was the first Teen rated game that I purchased for my kids. I'm happy to say they love it and I'm pleased that it wasn't "too graphic or too violent". It also has the wonderful feature of being a two-player game, so no fighting over who plays when!
"Dose the soul still burn... You decide", Soul Caliber 2 - Circa 2004
GOOD: - Good/Tight controls - Really balanced gameplay - Lots of different and unique fighters - Minutes to learn years to master gameplay - Lots of Fighters, costumes, stages, and extras to unlock - A 3D fighting game that really uses the 3D space (with eight way run) - A total upgrade over the original Soul Caliber, which to many gamers is considered classic - Considered an Instant classic to many fans and many hardcore fighting fanatics
BAD: - Not much has changed (gameplay wise) since original - Have to unlock most of the game through the story/quest mode - Slight lagging
IF IT FITS YOUR TASTE: - Has medieval theme, both European and Chinese/Japanese - Not traditional fighting game in the sense that there is no real combos and supers, or even projectile moves - Game has built in quest mode, where you pick a fighter and complete a number of challenges, the end result is you unlock more content and are a better player - Fight with weapons, like a 3D Samurai Showdown
GAME ITS MOST ASSOCATED TOO: - Soul Caliber - Tekken 5 - Samurai Showdown
ADDITIONAL NOTES: - This game is not only for Sony's Playstation 2, it's also for Microsoft's Xbox, and Nintendo's Game Cube - All three versions of this game on (different systems, see above) have one unique character Microsoft's Xbox has Spawn from the popular 90's comic book of the same name, Sony's Playstation 2 has Heihachi from Namco's popular Tekken series, and Nintendo's Game Cube has Link from Nintendo's popular Legend of Zelda Franchise.
