"A Piece of cake to install, this thing works great" Apple products have been consistently solid for me, and this one is no exception. I simply opened the side of my mac, plugged the card in, and when I turned the computer back on I was browsing the web wirelessly. Could not have been easier.
"Apple Air Port Extreme Card" Love the apple airprot extreme card. We set up wireless networking in our home and my mac is downstairs I have super fast speed
"Very Easy To Install & Use" Plugged right in and worked like a charm. No software to configure. Great buy. Great product.
"Incompatiblr" Incompatible with my iBook; Apple has such a phobia against providing 'System Requiremts' for their accessories; finally found the list on a vendors website. Amazon did not have this list. One has to do major resarch to find the info Apple won't provide ! !
"Do not work with non-Apple access points!" Does not work with non-Apple base stations! I had a PowerMac G5. I was told by Apple retail store clerks it will work any wireless G access points. But No! At my house my PC can see no less than 6 wireless AP's (some from neighbors, one mine). But this Airport card can only see one (which is an Apple Airport Station)! Tried everything ( Googled, set encryption modes, slow downed my LinkSys WAP tranfering bitrate to 2Mbps etc...) and no luck. Returning it tomorrow.

What our customer's say!
"Perfect", Easy to install on my old eMac. I already had a wireless network working so from opening the box to being online took no more than 15 minutes.
"AirPort Express card easy to install", This card fits the 2005 flat panel iMac with the ball base. I had the AirPort Express card out of the box and installed in my iMac in less than 10 minutes. As soon as the software installed, the WiFi nearest me was connected. Speed is incredible. If you buy without software, download from Apple ahead of time. Give yourself some overlap time if you're changing e-mail addresses.
"Painless installation", I purchased this card for a first generation 20" iMac G5. Installation is simple: release three captive screws at the bottom of the iMac, remove the back cover and pedestal, and insert the card into the retainer cage. The card plugs into a socket, plus it has an antenna cable. That's all there is to it.
Once rebooted, the machine will automatically detect the card but it will not turn on wireless networking. If you are ready to connect to a network then it takes maybe a minute or two to turn it on and pick the wireless access point.
The iMac is now at the opposite side of the house (brick, steel, concrete condo) and wireless performance with the D-Link WBR-1310 is great.
Most new Macs already have an airport card, so this product is primarily aimed at people that own slightly older Macs with a built-in airport socket/cage. The price is really good, these cards retailed for $79 when they originally came out. And once you plug it in, it works forever, I am yet to run into somebody that has had an airport extreme card fail, not even DOA.
"Apple Airport Extreme Card", I just installed the Airport Extreme Card on my eMac and have moved the computer as far away from the router as it can possibly be in my house. The signal is very strong and it is working great. Highly recommend this product.
"very not satisfied", very very not user friendly.... no instruction to install. worked after it got installed but doesnt work with the wireless internet in my house. Decided to resell it. could be its only because i'm apple-illeterate....

Read this reviews before You buy...
"easy to install, works instantly", The beauty of Apple is the simplicity of their products - the Mac, the iPod, everything just works without having to consult Carl Sagan, Neil Armstrong or Miss Cleo.
A note to those wanting to go wireless with an older computer: The Airport Card and the Airport Extreme Card are two different critters. They look different and this card will not work on older Macs fitted for the standard Airport card. Apple doesn't even sell the old Airport cards anymore. If you have an older Mac and want to get more speed, you cannot hotwire it to do more with the newer card - you'll just blow a gasket on your Mac.
If you're adding a new computer to your existing Airport-based network and are underwhelmed by the performance, you may be using an original Airport Base Station - these older models maxxed out at 11bps, where the new ones max out at 54bps - a nearly 500% increase in network access speed.
This is NOT the model to get for a Mac Mini. The Mac Mini has a different form factor and has a slot for a special Airport & Bluetooth combo card that this card will not work with.
Installation is a snap - literally. Pop it into place and attach the antenna cord and you've got WiFi. I installed one of these on my older 1Ghz iBook G4 and instantly saw all the wireless networks in my neighborhood. Viva la Macintosh!
"Apple delivers once again!", Apple, once again, delivers yet another fantastic product. After doing my research to find a 3rd party wirless unit, I found I had no choice but to buy the Airport Extreme card for my imac G5. I'm using a Linksys Router and It works perfectly. I made the mistake of installing the card first then plugging in the antenna. If you install this be sure to plug in the antenna first making sure the plug is all the way in from tip to collar (which takes a little force) and then insert the card securly in it's seat. If you don't get a very strong signal look at the card and antenna again as it more than likely isn't in all the way. It's very easy to install so If you are comfortable opening up your computer do it yourself. Once you have it installed that's all, go to your airport icon and make sure it's on... and that's it! You're up and running! Easy as Plug in and go!
"Extreme Card", I bought an Extreme Card for my G4 from ameris and it was faulty didn't load and wouldn't let the computer come on. Sent a note on the feedback and didn't get any response. Looks like I will have to eat the card and the cost. Not very happy with the vendor that amazon let sell the product on their site.
"Do not buy from Mac-pro.com", Great item, but do not buy from mac-pro.com. Received a defective card and they were unwilling to replace it. I am left with all shipping charges and a 20% RESTOCKING fee. Will you end up buying my defective card? I got another card from another vendor and it works really well.
"Easy to install and set up", I bought this for a IMac G5. It took less than 5 minutes to install (open computer case, plug antenna cable into card, slide card in slot, close case, power up). All that was left was to insert setup CD and about 1 minute later my existing wireless network was recognized and available. Reception of the wireless signal appears to be slightly stronger than what I get with my Dell laptop and its card however I have no accurate way to measure.
It does exactly what I bought it for which was hassle free access to my network.
