Others say...
"Strange Ball Popper" Well, at first this toys was acceptable for my son. The music is fun. The balls fly too far up into the air and roll all over the place! My son can't keep up with them and neither can I! Also, at 9 months or so may son developed a fear of this toy. I think it is the noise- it is quite noisy.
"Toddler loves it, Parents don't" My daughter likes this toy a lot - it was a gift and we were very excited about it at first. Unfortunately we don't like it as much as my daughter does - the balls fall out onto the floor more than they stay on the toy track and my daughter gets frustrated because to play with the toy more than once requires a break to go pick up all the balls that flew out of the toy. Also, sometimes the balls seem to get stuck in the chute - maybe the air pressure gets blocked or something, not sure. My daughter likes it, so that's the most important thing, but I really wish the balls didn't drop out all over the floor.
"The young and the old" My daughter, Callie, received this toy as a gift for Christmas (so my review is of a short period of ownership). Although she is only 6 1/2 mos, she very much enjoyed watching the balls move throughout the toy. Her 2 year old cousin, Lola, also enjoyed the toy, but could not grasp the concept that the balls come out of the upper hole and the toy became frustrating for Callie, Lola, and us supervising adults when the balls were put into the upper hole causing them to become stationary inside the toy. The other minorly frustrating thing is that when the balls come flying out, they hit each other or the toy itself and get scattered around the room - thankfully not dangerously. The picture on the box is somewhat deceptive when it comes to this fact. All in all, I don't think it's a bad toy, but could've used a bit more thought into the making.
Pros: Entertaining from infant thru toddler Colorful Educates Short self-timed shut off Does not take up a lot of room Can be turned on easily
Cons: Balls can be lost Occasional non-movement of balls Short self-timed shut off
"Absolutely Obnoxious..." I have passed by this toy countless times in the isles of Wal-mart, but never felt the need to purchase it. Well, my 10 month old son received it for Christmas and it's fast become my least favorite toy. There is no volume control, which is a huge bummer since this plays extremely loud music, and the fan that pushes the balls up sounds like a blow dryer. Very loud.
The worst thing though is the balls pop up so hard and fast that they fly all over the place. My son seems to enjoy the balls popping up and cycling through the toy, but I have to sit there with it and keep my hand over the top to prevent the balls from flying all over, otherwise, they go everywhere and he just loses interest. We have light carpeting and they still manage to roll under furniture or across the room.
In the end, I'd say avoid this. It's definitely not worth the trouble. Way too noisy and too much work. I think I'm gonna put it away till he's a bit older, and can chase after the balls himself. I'm just thankful I listened to my gut and didn't spend my own money on this colossal pain-in-the-rear!
"Inconsistent fun for 22 month old" My 22 month old Daughter received this for Christmas. I was concerned that it would be too young for her, but she was definitely very taken with it. The music is fairly charming in small doses, and my daughter enjoys naming the colors of all the balls as they pop up.
My low rating comes from the fact that the balls are very inconsistent. sometimes they stick in the channel part, so they just sit there and don't get blown up, other times they blow so hard they fly all over the room. Overall I'm just not very impressed with the playability of this toy.

What our customer's say!
"Fun to watch", I gave this as a gift to my 9 month old great nephew. His parents told me that he really likes it. He likes the balls going through the tube and trys to get at them. I think he will grow with this toy and it was a great buy.
"Great toy but packaging was bad", The toy is a great addition to our collection. Our son loves pressing the button to get it started. Be careful because the balls fly everywhere. Overall, I got the toy for $[...] cheaper than at Wal-Mart and no tax, but it came with a big hole right in the middle of the box so needless to say, I was embarrassed to give it away as a present. I went ahead and bought one at Wal-Mart to give as the present so be careful if it's a gift.
"Great fun", Our 13 month old loves this Busy Ball Popper. It does a great job teaching cause and effect. ( not to mention a lot of fun for babies and adults playing with them) It is a lot of laughs watching his face while playing with this toy. One down side is that many other toys come with balls heavier in weight which don't pop out (I hide the other balls when he is playing with this toy) good purchase!
"So much fun!", I got this for my granddaughter because she likes to play ball. She is 18 mos old and can say ball very clearly. This turned out to be so much fun for all of us. We just laugh and chase the balls when they pop out too high. And she knew right away just how to push the button to start the balls. It's good exercise and loads of laughs. I highly recommend it.
"Annoying for parents, fun for kids", My son got this toy when he was 10 months old. He absolutely loves it. My problems with it are that sometimes the balls don't pop up at all or they fly out too forcefully and go across the room. Sometimes he likes to push the plunger on it just to feel the air blowing from the pop out part.

"My 12 month old ordered this (one of the downfalls of 1-click ;) but I would order it too!", Hasbro Playskool Busy Ball Popper I was browsing Amazon and had to leave the room for a minute. While I was gone, my 12-month old was bashing happily on the keyboard, and managed to order this through 1-click ordering (which means I couldn't cancel it!)
When it arrived we decided to give it a go, and it really has been fun! PROS: - It has an on/off switch - There are not too many balls that they are everywhere - It is a small, compact toy, and yet packs a punch - My 7 yr old and 5 yr old love to see if they can catch the balls as they fly out the top. My 12 month old just loves it all round! Great entertainment value for a large age range.
CONS: - You have to have all the balls in it for it to work properly. If you only have some of the balls they don't complete the circuit properly. We tend to have to look for a couple that have been carried around the house by the baby before we can use it properly. - Uses 3 D size batteries. Batteries are always a con in my book ;) Wish things could just magically power themselves ;)
All in all, I'm glad this "mistake" order happended and I would definitely order it myself if I had to make the choice!
"Great Toy", My son likes this toy very much. He is learning how to put the balls down the chute. I will count the balls as he picks them up and I also tell him the colors. This way he learns to count and his colors too.
The toy is loud but my son doesn't seem phased by the noise. The songs are fun and lively. The toy runs for 30 seconds at a time saving on batteries. The balls don't pop very high which is good for us, since he plays with it for a long while in his play pen.
"Keeps them busy!!", The busy ball popper was already ranked with five stars when we bought it for our one year old for Christmas. I am glad we bought it! Both our 3 yr old and 1 yr old play with it together. Even their older cousins play with it too! and they are 10, 8 and 4. The 4 yr old has autism and he loves to put keep the balls popping. The music it plays is nice to listen too and not real annoying. I must admit I like playing with the ball popper too. Although I do have to chase the balls that bounce across the room. The popper is great for hand eye coordination if you are looking for educational or motor skills.
"Doesn't live up to expectations", While this toy looks fun and entertaining, it failed to live up to our expectations. The balls fly off the track ALL the time. My kids enjoy putting other small toys down the track more than they enjoy watching the balls. There is nothing interactive about it- it requires that kids just sit back and watch. There are a lot of other toys out there for this money that kids can actually play with and learn from.
"Great exercise for the parents", I personally can't stand this toy, but obviously it's not for me. My son and his friends love it. He's 11 months and his girl friend is 18 months, and they've been entertained by this for the past 5 months. It is very easy for them to operate and they like the music - the REALLY LOUD music. I say it's good exercise for the parents because the balls don't just come up the chute and then back down the ramp to be blown out again; they go all over the room. The kids of course don't mind, and since they've learned what was going on they will sometimes chase the balls themselves, but mostly it's me on ball recovery. All that said, it's a good investment. It's very durable as my son has sat on it, thrown it and thrown toys on it and the toy hasn't been affected negatively one bit. If you've got patience and ear plugs, this is the toy for you!
